Fantastic!! He was excellent with our german shepherd. Very gentle and caring... The price was affordable and the walk in hours were great for us as we work during the day.

This does not even deserve one star however I did not have a choice. I lost my beloved dog on September 23. He was my world! Initially my dog had an obstruction, I rushed home from work the moment I heard to be with him at the vet. As my dog was 6 and had never had anything medically wrong with him before I arrived to Ingersoll Yates in tears and panic. In Ingersoll I was directed to Woodstock as Ingersoll did not have an X-ray machine (which gave me hope they took their jobs seriously). Once in Woodstock a young female vet, which I know the name of however will not announce, took my dog into an examination room and performed X-rays and a physical exam. This vet ensured me the obstruction was near the end of the anus and proceeded to attempt to remove the blockage using her hand. My dog began bleeding and this vet assured me it was fine and it was due to stool not moving through his bowels. I was told he was good to go and to bring him back tomorrow for a follow up X-ray and was provided with medication to soften my dogs stool. I assured the vet that money was not an issue and I would do anything that needed to be done, however the vet believed this was the best course of action. Once at home I phoned Yates 6 times looking for direction as my dog appeared lethargic and began to vomit. I was assured by the same vet that my dog was fine and the medication was causing the symptoms. I was also given advice from the receptionist, looking back this should have been an indication not to trust them. As worried dog owners we stayed up all night to ensure our dog was okay. At 2am my dog took his final breath, I attempted CPR and phoned the vet as I believed I could hear him breathing. I had to force that vet to come in to provide care to my dog however it was too late. Once I arrived to Yates in Woodstock I started to vomit and became hysterical as it was evident my dog had passed over the rainbow bridge. This vets response was "sometimes these things happen". As my brother worked in a vet clinic in Toronto he assured me that this should not have happened. My brother and myself phoned to get answers and perhaps an apology however 4 months later I am still waiting for a phone call from that vet, ironically she took a vacation the day after my dog passed away. The owner of Yates also felt the need to yell at my brother when he called to receive clarification of events as I was too traumatized and emotional to speak. As emotional as it was for me to write this review (it has taken me 4 months to go through these events in my mind) it is to urge pet owners to chose a different vet. Since this experience I adopted a puggle who got into the garbage and ate a small bone. At a different vet they took X-rays and could not see this bone being a problem however placed the dog on an IV and induced vomiting. I no longer sit by my phone waiting for answers as I know no one will call me however it is with happiness my friends and family have chosen to not entrust Yates with their beloved animals. Read Less
