I've had two bad experiences with this clinic, the first more than two decades ago, the second recently.  The first related to a horse with broken splint, examined when I could not be at the barn, and no directions available for days regarding stall rest and other care and a rude response from Dr. Butler when I tried to obtain the information.  Second experience related to breeding.  I was not eager to use them again but was told they were great at AI (frozen).  The vet, Dr. Fine, was very pleasant to deal with and informative.  However, there was sloppiness in scheduling the clinic visit after estrumate, which resulted in wasted (and expensive) trailering from out-of-province.  They were set to repeat the same schedule, which would have resulted in the same wastage, until questioned.  She was quite oblivious and nonchalant as to the expense, the inconvenience and loss of breeding opportunity.  Vet was not totally sure of AI instructions that came with the (expensive/hard to get/imported) semen, made no effort to clarify the instructions, and thus unnecessarily used all straws.  Then, when the remaining straws of a second semen purchase were shipped to another vet, only two of the four straws they confirmed they had in storage were in the shipment.  They rudely dismissed any responsibility for the lost straws.   I don't doubt a deep knowledge of equine care (and for that is the two star rating) but there are other clinics and vets available who are not disrespectful.  Yes, you love your pets and want the best for them, but you should also want the best for yourself as well.
