My four year old cat has a very rare condition (EPI) and would not be alive today it if it weren't for the efforts of Dr. Edwards and the entire team. Dr. Edwards went above and beyond, consulting specialists, calling labs, and doing research to figure out what was wrong with our cat. We never received a bill for all this effort. She clearly laid out which tests were most urgent, which could wait, and recommended the most cost-effective tests to try to rule out possible diagnoses before moving on to the more expensive tests. When we finally received a diagnosis, she spent a lot of time working with a specialist in Toronto to come up with a treatment plan and researching special foods (kangaroo meat). Always available by email and phone, the team was quick to answer our questions, checked in with us frequently, and taught us to administer medications at home, even though it took a few visits for us to master the techniques.Now that we have left Kingston, we are struggling to find a new vet as competent and compassionate as Dr. Edwards. The team at Barriefield sets a very high bar.

Be forewarned. This is the most expensive and least competent grooming service I have ever experienced. Miniature Schnauzer cost $79.10. If you leave your dog with them, write down every detail of how you want it groomed. I have never seen such a misinterpretation of instruction and when they were asked to make what corrections were necessary to give me remotely what I wanted, they again totally acted counter to my instructions. In current vernacular it would be termed a cluster f * * *.
