I've had two experiences with this animal hospital via telephone. I was a new client looking for a new vet since I was fairly new to Kingston. Needless to say I did not end up in their care. I will say however the staff I talked to on the phone was very nice and polite. My problem was more a less in misleading information. I will briefly explain myself below:Experience #1:Quite a few months ago I was looking for a vet office that could give my 2 cats their yearly shots and physical exam. I was recommended to contact Bayridge due to a flyer in a coupon book stating they had a promotion on. If I remember correctly it was a dollar for new clients to get a "nose-to-tail" examination and so on. I immediately went to their website to do some more research. They seemed like a great place and their promotion seemed great. I called to ask some questions to clarify (and boy I'm glad I did!) and hopefully make an appointment. To my surprise this promotion wasn't anything like it seemed. The website and what I was told on the phone were two different things. On top of that, the promotion would only apply to my one cat. As far as I see it the pet is the client, he/she is the one being seen and sole reason to be visiting a vets office. So it seemed odd to me that it was only applicable to my one animal. Displeased by the conversation, useless information, and lack of help I ended the phone call. Experience #2: Last week I believed my cat to have a UTI (was not the case at all, he is fine, false alarm) and I was searching once again for a vet. This time with the pressure of my cat being (so I thought) very ill. So I give Bayridge a second chance as I called around comparing prices. This phone call was pleasant and she gave me exactly what I needed with some concern to my situation. I also inquired about their pet plans (don't accidentally call it pet insurance, because you'll be corrected quickly!). For an adult cat their plan was $235 initial cost, PLUS $31/month over a course of 11 months (I'd really love to hear the explanation of a client wanting this plan in the middle of the year and the cost adjustments). I thought I was certain that my cat had a UTI and the costs associated with that were in the $450 range. I thought..hey this plan would be great because it covers my current situation, yearly shots, my examination fee, and some other perks. Once again I'm mislead by this website, as I was on the phone with this lady figuring out what this plan actually covers. From what she relayed to me, it covers very little. Yes there are some good things on there, but their definitely not worth the price you're paying for the plan. Essentially it's a bunch of reasons for coming in with examination tagged at the end. There is already a set examination price..regardless of the reason for the examination you still pay the same amount!Overall, I just found the ads and promotions they offer on their website to be misleading and confusing. They could very well be a good place to take your pet(s), I just didn't like my first impressions. Left me uncomfortable and wondering what they'd pull if I were to actually make an appointment.
