If you want to feel guilty for the rest of your life I made an appointment for my tiny chihuaha due to her chronic dry cough and to inform she has been a light eater otherwise happy and playing every day. During the exam appointment Dr. Christine Loomis also noticed a heart murmur. As my dog is a light eater being 1.68 kg and 16 years old without a blood test she could even have kidney issues. I asked Dr. Loomis a couple of times if she would like to have transferred Cocos last exam results and xrays from a few months back. To give her background information. She did not pursue my request. I informed Dr. Loomis a bit of honey helps her throat as otherwise she is happy. I informed also that she is an inside dog, even going to the bathroom inside as she is peepy pad trained. So even though it sounds like kennel cough I do not believe it would be. Heart murmur signs are dry coughing, light eating!! I was prescribed hydrocodone .4ml for 7 days. This medication is for collapsed trachea and kennel cough. Again my dog is only 1.68 kg size of a small rabbit. She was not prescribed anything for the heart murmur that was noticed. I called their office after giving Hydrocodone for one day to inform them that her stool is dark and tarry looking and that she doesn't like the medication. They said to put it in a dish for her to lick it up and if that doesn't work to mix with her food. The VCA website online states that this medication should be given with caution in geriatric pets. She being 16 years old is very geriatric and not to pets with underlying kidney disease. This medication should not be prescribed without a blood test. As I did not want to have a blood test done at this time, she should not have encouraged medication as I was ok continuing giving my dog a bit of honey for the cough. After 7 days I went to the emergency room with her as she became lethargic and the emergency vet said she is going through kidney failure based on her blood tests. To wait if she improves which I so was praying for. A few days later her shallow fast breathing showed her heart murmur went into heart failure. *I wish I had been prescribed medication for her heart murmur instead of kennel cough. She was then put to sleep on the same day by Dr. Christine Loomis without giving her a sedation first (a small needle in the fleshy part of the leg), so that your/any animal is not in distress while the clipper busses off hair in which the catheter will be placed for the euthanasia. *I would suggest to ask any veterenarian for this sedation! I did not know that they would not automatically sedate her a little so she wouldn't know what was happening to her. *As my mother's vet did this as a normality, they even let her hold her instead of an assistant vet technician. This veterinarian did not do it for my little weak dog. They had an assistant hold her neck until little tears came from her eyes. While they put in the catheter, and then some saline water to test that there is no blockage...I was with her and in front of her and giving her calming messages like I love you, I love you..they did let me do that. The technician I am sure has no intention on hurting any animal, but without any pet parent sharing information like this there will not be any improvement and changes for future geriatric tiny breed dogs that may be in the same situation as my tiny old fur child in their office. I needed to ask a few times that my wishes are to have her on my lap while the euthanization takes place. I was then hesitantly allowed to do so but while the cathadar was put in I was not allowed to hold her. I informed Dr. Loomis that my mother was allowed to do so with her dog. *Thinking it would be one needle like my mother's dog experience. My weak tiny dog of 1.68 kg had 3 full needles injected through the catheter which were stuck in her skinny tiny legs barely skin on bones as she had not been eating due to medication reaction. (small rabbit size) Dr. Loomis gave 3 full needles very quickly. First one again saline water, second needle sedation, third needle euthanasia. I noticed her passing after she gave the second needle through the catheter. Her little angel heart (size of a pinky finger tip) could not take the volume and the pressure any more. What my little girl was going through the last moments of her life. I will never forget!! I will feel guilty for going to this office, for giving her the prescribed kennel cough medication, and for not asking for her to be sedated before the buzzing of the hair clippers started. I WANTED TO DO RIGHT BY HER INSTEAD I FEEL I DID WRONG! Read Less

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They claim they only take appointments for their patients and being the only vet clinic that closes at 8:00pm, they refuse to help sick animals who are in need. Instead I get turned away and that my pet can wait another day. They did not even look at him, they just said that he can wait. How would you know if you did not do any tests or examination? I didn't want a full work up, all I wanted was to determine his symptoms and get medicine for him but apparently 15 minutes isn't enough for that and as people who claim to save animal's lives, they were not willing to stay late to help. I used to work at a clinic and the doctor there would stay hours later just to comply with their patients schedules. This is disappointing and I will never recommend anyone to go here.Read Less

I want to start off by saying, it is very nerve racking to find and trust a new vet. It's was scary for us because I'm protective of my furbabies so a new adventure for my cat Frodo was very scary. You want the first experience to go well, vet bills are almost always unpleasant, and of course you want to leave knowing you made the right choice on all fronts. As my rating shows, my experience was a good one. Matter a fact, it was a great one and I'll tell you why. In attempt to keep this "short" I will sum things up by saying they are polite, personable, helpful, caring individuals that gave me and my kitty a quality experience. Via email, telephone, and face-to-face these people are on the ball and care for their customers. They are not there to rack in the cash and try to sell you on every little thing. Which I appreciate endlessly how honest and knowledgable these people are. If you're looking for a new vet, I highly recommend Beardall's! Read Less

I brought my lethargic guinea pig here about 6 months ago and I was very impressed with the service I received. I had to cancel my follow-up appointment since she had passed away before it, and I thought that was it. I later got a card in the mail from Beardall Animal Hospital expressing their condolences and it meant a lot to me. I am very happy with how they treated my piggy and the fact that they went the extra distance to acknowledge their patient's passing.

To put it simply if you love your pets, don't go here. If u could give them 0 stars I would. Very unethical staff. Highly upset with their service.

Read Less
