Dr. Walia is one of the most compassionate, thoughtful and patient vets we have ever met. During the past two years he has provided quality care for our very senior Basset Hound Dutchess and our two wiener dogs Frank & Bella.There are no words to express how thankful we are for his help in making our farewell to Dutchess as peaceful & beautiful as possible. Amazing staff and dr.Walia did everything and more to get our dog best care posible .After some after surgery complication dr.Walia made sure that we and our dog experiance best posible care .We were amazed how pasion they are and how much they cared .Dr.Walia stayed in his office after his reg hours and even ogfer to stay over night with our dog to make sure she is ok thru the night.They did apsolute everything to save her , they left us speachlees .Never ever we experiance this kind of care . I will not be returning to this vet. I took my cat in for respiratory issues, his first vet visit ever and it was not a good experience. I found Dr. Walia's manner not reassuring in a time of stress for me and my pet, which ended up making the experience rather awful all around. It was as though he would only go into detail about worst case scenarios and all the things that could be wrong with my cat, and when asked about the likelihood of some of these things in his judgement, he would refuse to make any suppositions at all. When I would ask questions to clarify my understanding because I was stressed out and feeling pressured by all the scenarios he had reeled off, and the amount of things included in the proposed treatment plan totalling over $700, he would speak over me and cut me off. I just went to another vet to get a second opinion. Thank god I did! Strasburg vet clinic had misdiagnoced my little guy from the start. He was taking a ton of pills for heart and other things for 6 months. He needed none of them. The new vet said his heart is fine and to get him off all the pills. Turns out his lower back is inflamed. Something the other doc didn’t even see. I have to stop writing as I’m getting madder by the minute thinking Strasburg animal hospital put my baby a risk!!! We have always had a great experience at Strasburg Animal Hospital. The animals love Dr. Walia, the staff are always happy and friendly and the prices can't be beat. This is a clinic that truly cares about the animals, and their kindness does not go unnoticed. I took my dog in Nov 2, 2017 as he was acting a little off. The receptionist was pleasant and showed that she genuinely care. My dog is somewhat anxious and protective but he would never bite. The doctor I saw treated my dog like he was some viscious animal and would not pet him or treat him like a loving pet. I decided to leave and take him to another vet and only pay for the $40 consultation. I will not be returning nor ever recommending this place to anyone. Read Less

I have had many animals in my life as I rescue dogs from overseas and Dr. Walia is the best vet I have ever encountered. The dogs I bring in have many different issues as they come from the dog meat trade in Korea and I have never met a vet with more knowledge, love and compassion. This is a vet with a big heart! He makes himself available 7 days a week to his regular clientele and even those needing temporary care when their vets are closed. ALL PET OWENERS BEWAIR ! I caM home from work my 6 year old cat looked distressesd. Wasn't walking normally. just was not him self. Took him to Strasburg vet because it's The closes vet. The vet was able to fit us in. He took xray s and told us he was contipated. gave us med and sent us home. the next day my cat was using the litters and pooping but was deteriating. he did not want to eat of move from his bed . this was very strang for my cat he had always been a loving energenic cat. so thinking that something was still wrong i booked him in with our ususal trusted vet Burgess animal hospital. the took one look at him and know it was not good he redid the xrays and could not even fathium how the other vet thought he was constipated. he said he had a large mass forming in the stomic . turned out to be cancer . it was untreatiable. my cat was dieing .. for 24 hour s i torghered him trying to give him meds for constipation and making him unconfortable for no reason. we did end up having to put my poor baby down due to the savarity of The cancer... i called back to strasburg animal hospital to let him know that he was conpletly wrong and all he could say was well i believe he was constipated and we put him down for no reason and saud there r no refund.... i never even asked for my money back.... i was and still am floored. i have been working as a dog and cat groomer for over ten year and have never met such a heartless money scaming scum bag of a vet before. The doctor and staff at this animal hospital take a sincere and genuine interest in your pet's health and also take your wallet into consideration. My young Chihuahua went through an intense bacterial infection that caused exploding pustules all over his body. Dr Walia and his staff went above and beyond during that extremely stressful time with their thorough testing, amazing customer service, and by even helping cutting back the costs. The location itself is very clean and open, and the staff very friendly and thorough. New to the neighbourhood, thought I'd come in and ask a few questions. Receptionist was unaccommodating and awkward. Did not answer my questions thoughtfully, was dismissive and immovable on policy. Will not go back and would not recommend. We have two dogs and both have been to this vet. The first time we were told our dog had pancreatic problems and listened. The second time was with our other dog and were told that we were abusing him since he hasn't been to a vet in years. He had a seizure for the first time and we brought him in right away. At first they were going to give us a 5pm appointment but we said we could not wait that long as we did not know why he had a seizure and has never had them before. When we got to the appointment we were told other things were wrong with our dog so we started questioning these other things at which point we were told since we do not trust him, the relationship agreement would be broke. We went to another vet and they reached out to get the notes from this visit, but this Vet would not provide them. They wanted to charge $725 dollars for full treatment right away when they didn't understand the true cause. The other Vet cost $80 for blood work and pills for initial visit that will allow us to determine what the true cause is. At the second vet they had two Vet's assess our dog and it was their opinion that things felt normal, but to proceed with blood tests to try to understand what caused the seizure. If you are going to use this vet all I ask is that you get a second opinion. Would not recommend. Read Less

I love this vet and take both of my cats and golden retriever here. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Walia, his prices are very reasonable and he really shows compassion towards my pets. When my senior cat who is 16 years old came home with a wound on his neck Dr. Walia took care of him right then and there and I didn't have to wait. We took Ziggy home and he's been recovering well, especially for a senior cat. The staff are all great and exceptional service is provided every time I visit, whether it was for my puppies initial shots or my senior cats surgery. The vet was afraid of my dog and after not even touching him tried to charge me 75 dollars. I asked for the file to be transferred back to my original vet and the doctor wrote a note saying that I was a bad pet owner because I wouldn't pay him thousands of dollars to run a bunch of uneccassary tests. Was not impressed with my experience!!!!!!!!!! I would say overall I am not happy with the vet and what they did to my dog. It was strange when I got there and the vet didn't want to interact with my dog. He was acting like he was scared. When the vet explained to me about the shots he was giving her it was very difficult to understand, to help he drew me pictures .. this was not beneficial to me or my dog. I didn't understand what was going on. After he mixed two shots and gave them to her at once, then another shot alone and finally something taken orally my dog was throwing up all over. The vet acted as this was not normal but it seemed like my time was up so he didn't care. He passed me the napkins and gave her another medicine orally (the same one) after all of this my bill was twice was much as it is usually. Dr. Walia removed my dogs benign tumor and neutered him. I brought my dog in for an emergency because his benign tumor hardened out of nowhere. After he examined my dog, I was able to schedule a surgery the following morning. There was no charge for the examination fee and he explained everything to me before and after the surgery which made me feel very comfortable with the entire situation. In addition, his prices were good. I inquired about fees at other vets and Strasburg vet had the best prices. Read Less
