I have been taking my pets, both cats & dogs to this vet clinic for several years now. Dr. Sharma & staff are both caring and knowledgeable. Their prices are the best around and their care is wonderful. My dog Xena suffered from pyrometra and she was very sick. Dr. Sharma performed emergency surgery and it was basically 50-50 but he pulled her through. He always takes the time to explain things, options, prices and does not take advantage of your feelings for your beloved family member or push unwanted procedures, vet food etc upon you when your pet is ill. I used to take my pets elsewhere, where I was taken advantage of and charged excess amounts of money when my pets fell ill. This is not the case here. The staff of Cassandra, Debbie & Emily care about you & your pet and are very kind, patient, and answer questions to the best of their ability. They call to check on your pet after surgery or when you've had your pet in to be cared for, and Dr. Sharma always finds time to speak with you and gives his honest opinion regarding treatment for your pet. I won't take my pets anywhere else. If you want a Vet who cares about you and your pet, this is the clinic for you! Read Less

This vet is an absolute joke! I take my puppy in for a check up because he is having minor diarrhea, and without asking more then 2 questions prescribes 5 medications and 4 tests adding up to almost $1000.00 (which he quoted me by writing on a piece of toilet paper). I informed him that my puppy is on a raw food diet and that may have something to do with. He proceeded to tell me my dog has to have the kibble they sell because it is the best thing for the animal.. I proceeded to ask about the raw food diet and he would not answer a single question I had about it. (do your research, that is an absolute lie ! Kibble is like feeding your animal corn chips everyday. Anyone reading I recommend watching "pet fooled" as it proves the exact opposite of what this vet told me.) The moment I told the vet I was not making any decisions without my wife's opinion who is a vetranary assistant, he instantly retracted half of what he tried to sell me ! (I went alone as I had time away from work) After speaking with my wife the one test that should have been done was not even offered and the test I did was twice as expensive as anywhere else. This place is absolutely terrible aside from the great staff of women. I have never been more upset anywhere with the service I received! If you truly love your animal DO NOT cheap out and take them to this scam artist!!!!!!! Read Less

I have been taking my dogs to this vet for over 5 years and the doctors and staff has always been so kind towards both my family and my animals. Not only do they charge a reasonable price but they're also compassionate towards the animals that come into the clinic. My family and I have brought our dogs there for various things, we feel completely comfortable trusting them with our fur babies. After recently losing one of our dogs, the doctors and staff were beyond kind and helpful throughout the entire difficult time. They were not only patient with us, but supportive and comforting. I always recommend this vet to anyone who asks for suggestions and I plan to continue to bring my pets there. I thank them for all they have done and all that they continue to do for my family and I. I took my cat here because she suddenly started peeing and pooing all over the house and was being very lazy, always sleeping/ not jumping on my lap anymore. The vet gave me 2 option, that being that we could do a blood test at 180$, or that I could purchase a spray that would help draw her to the little box. I purchased the spray.since the vet was not concerned and said it was probably bad behaviour. 1 week later, she started peeing straight blood. I called the vet right away, and they told me I would have to wait 4 days to bring her in. I said absolutely not and called Bruce st animal hospital. They rushed me in right then because it wasn't something that could wait. Upon arrival, I was informed that my cat was indeed in a lot of pain and that her behavious(sleeping a lot and not jumping on my lap) was a very big indicator of that and that her stomach was very swollen. The vet then gave me multiple options of treatment at different price ranges, including 3 differently priced pain pills, antibiotics, an X-ray, urine test, or a blood test. I decided to go with the pills, antibiotics and a urine test. We are still figuring out what is wrong with her, but the vet at westheights was absolutely no help at all and I am not impressed that he didn't mention anything about a swollen stomach or her being in pain. Westheights is by far the cheapest option in the KW region, but it is NOT the best. In my experience they were irresponsible, uncaring and more expensive in the long run than a regularly priced and good quality vet clinic. While their base rate for a checkup is fairly cheap, EVERYTHING costs extra, and I literally mean EVERYTHING. They also tried to get us to buy things for our cats that we didn't need, e.g Revolution even though both our cats are life-long indoor pets and showed no signs of fleas. Another issue is that both vets are extremely hard to understand because they have heavy Indian accents, this made communication very difficult. To boot, the Vet Tech/Secretary also wrote down the wrong phone number and was literally calling the wrong number to notify us. We had no clue we had a set of shots left to do, and ended up having to PAY again for ALL the shots because the maximum time of a few months had passed. The communication issue was on their end, yet we paid for it. Finally, their diagnosis and treatment is not thorough or well informed. One of our cats had an eye infection of some sort and the eye cream they prescribed us was A) for dogs, and B) didn't work. Yet, when we came back a second time and paid for another visit, they literally just gave us the same eye cream AGAIN. That extra appointment totaled to at least 60 bucks, for no results. Summary: If you're just using Westheights Vet for a Spay or Neuter, then this vet is the cheapest and best option, but for any other issue such as sickness or even shots they are not worth it. Communication is horrible, they overcharge for small extra things and do not perform thorough checkups. The money you'll have to pay in follow-ups or on other vets makes it worth it to go to another, more expensive and responsible vet clinic. Needless to say, we will be bringing our cat elsewhere for her yearly check ups. Read Less

As a first time pet (cat) owner, Westheights Vet Hospital has made my life as easy as it gets! I have taken both of my cats here to get vaccinated - great job by Dr. Sharma who was very gentle with my kitties! He answered all questions I had and informed me  that the ear mite check I requested would be of extra cost rather than just going ahead and performing the check before asking me. Pricing here is extremely reasonable - all other places I called around in the KW area were priced a lot higher than Westheights for the same procedures. For your first visit with a new kitten/puppy, the exam is complementary. The receptionist was very well mannered and asked if I was okay with scheduling my future appointment at the time being or if I wanted to wait, I didn't feel rushed and appreciated being asked. Overall Westheights Vet Hospital offers a very clean, friendly atmosphere and will satisfy all your veterinary needs at an affordable price, I highly recommend this place! Read Less

The people writing negative reviews are complaining about the most irrelevant things. The vet service is wonderful. They do their job and they do it well. They may not be "overly compassionate" but neither are our family doctors. I do not go to the vet for them to obsess over my dog. I go there for one reason, their services (and they are fantastic).

Read Less
