Dr. Rupi is kind, genuine, helpful, has knowledge and does his job perfectly . They respect their clients relationships with their pets and don’t focus too much on money // more so the quality and the care of helping our pets. They didn't know what they were doing in the first appointment when entering information into the system. No manners and rude. Loved the Doc I saw here (even though I forget his name).. both he and his vet tech/assistant were wonderful. Explained everything to me and was awesome with my cat. Had been to another vet in Chicago and felt rushed from a quick visit and a demeaning vet who had difficulty looking me in the eye. This guy truly loves & cares for the animals that come in. Dr Rupi is foreign, so some people may take him the wrong way but I've brought ALL TYPES of numerous animals to his clinic and he has treated them with the upmost care. I have been bringing my cat to Hamilton Road Animal Hospital for the past 2 years, and would highly recommend it! The doctors are all fantastic. My cat has recently been in the hospital, and even through shift changes, each doctor has been extremely thorough, and have called me morning and evening with updates on my pet. I've always found their pricing to be very fair, and they only charge for what they need to (my bill was even reduced for something they didn't need to do!). Their hours are fantastic! It is great to know that my pet can receive excellent care to fit with my schedule, at a reasonable price. I visited this hospital with my dog Tuffy. I have nothing to say but the positive things about this hospital. Dr. Rupi and staff was wonderful and very professional. The vet was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Nothing was forced on me as I don't have a lot of money to spend. My kids took their dog in to have it neutered. The dog went in there happy and healthy. Later in the day they got a call that there were "complications" leaving him paralyzed. Apparently during the NEUTERING somehow the dogs spinal cord was severed and he ended up being put down. My 2 young girls cried themselves to sleep cuddling his sweaters. I see on here the negative reviews have replies with excuses. I would love to hear the explanation of how a dog went in there healthy and happy for one of the most common simple procedures and ended up paralyzed then dead. Absolutely disgusting. I will do everything I am able to share this story and spread the word in the hopes that no more children have to cry themselves to sleep over a lost pet from a botched procedure Read Less

My dog is dead... I took him in for a neuter. He was healthy, happy, and bouncy. They called saying they were starting, they called to say they were done with no issues, and then they called an hour later to say my dog could not move his hind quarters. He was sent to Guelph where they reviewed his case and checked him over again. As of now no one can tell me what happened or how... All I know is I had to drive my two children to Guelph at 9pm at night to say goodbye to their beloved pet. I trusted these vets to care for my dog. Trusted them to deliver answers... To care that while in their custody something happened that paralyzed my dog from the waist down. The specialist said he would never recover. He'd never live a full life even if he did survive and improve over multiple surgeries... My dog is dead because I trusted these people to do a routine procedure. I urge no one else do the same. I went there for an emergency, my normal vet couldn't fit me in. My dog had a UTI, and they were gracious enough to fit me in. The staff were friendly enough. The doctor wasn't that talkative but seemed competent. It took a long time and too much money for what it was. $200 for antibiotics that I can order online for $20. I appreciate that the vet wasn't pushy about treatment options. Overall it was a pleasant experience but I will be going back to my old vet. Read Less

We will never go back. Dr. Didn't have a clue what was wrong with our cat, so he wanted to throw a dozen tests and treatments at her, all at once. Just kept adding up the bill on his computer. He handled the cat very roughly. When we agreed to blood tests, he took her out back. We could hear her screaming. The Vet returned and said he couldn't handle her and was going to sedate. DO NOT USE THIS VET !!! I want to warn you about a vet clinic in London Ontario who recently attempted to scam our family. The vet is Hamilton Road Animal Hospital (Hamilton Road and Rectory area) and we have actually taken our dog there to see Dr Rupi for years. Despite the high costs and growing bills at the end of appointments, we always want what is best for our dog and always put our trust in Dr Rupi. Recently after a yearly checkup appointment, Dr Rupi informed us that our dog had heartworm. Which we couldn’t understand as we treat him with the heartworm medication every year. The vet told us that our pet would die if we didn’t bring him back in for surgery that day. He tried to steer us away from getting a second test when we requested it and wanted to begin x-rays and surgery immediately - which was an upfront starting cost of $1000.00. He said there was no medication for heartworm in the city due to a pet drug trade war and we would have to travel to the USA to get medication. Luckily some friends at work told me to get a second opinion from a vet called Banner Road. We took our dog for that second test that same afternoon and are so glad that we did! Not only did our second test come back negative, they called the heartworm medication company who assured us that even if our dog’s results did come back positive with heartworm - they were to be notified and all of our costs would be covered by them. No upfront costs. The drug manufactures even ran additional testing at their own cost and after 4 tests 48 hours later we were assured our dog did not have heartworm. All the while - Dr Rupi called our house over 15 times that same day until 8:30pm to try and get us to take our dog in for x-rays and surgery and when we told him we had gone for a second opinion and were waiting for the results– he attempted to discipline us on our decision and said we were risking our pets life The pressure and stress he put on my family was disgusting and ignorant. We didn’t need an x-ray or surgery in the end and are so happy that our pooch wasn’t put through unnecessary radiation and surgery by Dr Rupi - just so that he could pressure some quick extra cash out of us gullible dog lovers. I used to like him but he rips people off for money. You come in for one thing then it ends up being a ton of other things too. Money is not an issue for me but if they just see $$$ signs, I am changing vets. Go somewhere else. The only good thing about this place is the hours but that is it. If you can say NO then you will be fine to go here but beware. A lot of people love their pets and will not say no to things so they get ripped off like myself. Steer clear of this place. The one secretary is very nice and I would advise her to work somewhere else. She is kind of a larger woman with long brown hair. I am sorry if I have offended you, but know you do a really great job. I would work somewhere else. Also, once the vet was gonna give me a free sample of some tick spray but he found out I was only buying one Revolution so he put it back. That just shows what kind of person he is. Read Less

Such a horrible lack of communication. I would have left with absolutely no information if I hadn't asked question after question because they do not explain anything they're doing. Took my pup in with an injured leg. The staff took an appointment last minute on a Sunday (which I was extremely grateful for). The staff were professional, kind and didn't try to rip me off. Stay away from this vet. My experience was exactly as the first reveiwer. Terrible. I accompanied a disabled friend who proudly mentioned her and her disabled partner had raised 1500$ for the treatment of her cats. One cat was pretty sick, the other 2 just needed checkups. 3 exams with shots, 1 xray, 1 blood work w/feline leuk test,  2 prescriptions including one he insisted needed to be injected and monitored at his clinic for 4 hrs = you guessed 1470$ and this was after i argued for a discount and a detailed bill. The one cat was very very sick I expected the vet was going to stablize him, let the family take him home to say goodbye and return within a few days to euthanize. This vet said that lots of cats live for years with heart failure raising the hope and expectations of my (obviously) challenged friend. I left feeling railroaded and disgusted how he preyed on my meak friends challenges and emotions. No surprise the cat died at home a few days later.   Not only disgusting but i entend to pursue with the vetinary college. Nothing positive about this vet. Read Less

One cat was recently diagnosed with an illness during a routine examine, and the follow up care has been both informative and compassionate. My other cat has had two unplanned visits due to different health issues. Despite the timing, I was able to get a visit in the same day, a quick diagnosis, and the medicine and food to treat his problems. This vet clinic is the only reason my rabbit is alive! when I called about my rabbit sick they said that I could come in right away! My rabbit had a digestive problem which Dr. Rupi Singh Avapal detected right away! My rabbit is doing very well now. all the people were nice and very knowable! My favorite thing about this clinic is that the Dr. Rupi Singh Avapal call himself two weeks later to make sure my rabbit was doing well! in my opinion there are not a lot of vets that would do that! Great clinic. I had spent time with two other clinics but none of them could determine the cause of my dogs illness. Dr. Rupi diagnosed the problem within minutes after doing X-rays. Unfortunately the diagnosis resulted in having the clinic put our dog down. The clinic was very empathetic and professional in their approach to this aspect. I will start off by saying the vet technician who works there is very nice and helpful. Unfortunately i can not say the same for the doctor /owner, after explaining to him i am on a very tight budget as i was recently injured and unable to work he sticks me with extra unnecessary charges EVERYTIME for example charging $20 extra for giving medicine to an animal through a needle as opposed to orally. He is not upfront about costs , and gets annoyed when you ask. He is only in the business for the money and does not care about you or your pet. As I was understandably upset because my pet needs a $3000 surgery i can not pay for , he walks past me belittling me by saying "you can get so and so (unnecessary product) for $10 .... IF you can afford it" , the man has no compassion or customer service skills , I have never seen him smile not to mention he has a very thick accent and is very hard to understand and gets very annoyed when you ask him to repeat himself. I would rather pay the vet technician to do the appointment as she is much more helpful if you would like to be scammed and talked down to i would highly recommend hamilton road animal hospital , i personally will be looking for another vet Read Less
