We arrived at Oxford Animal hospital to have our beloved cat put down.
Upon our arrival, the receptionist stated "please take a seat, it will be a bit of a wait" we sat and waited for 20 mins. It was a busy time for the clinic and dogs were coming and going. Our cat has intense anxiety and fear and we knew this was causing distress. I asked the vet tech walking by how long the wait would be. This is when they informed us we had missed our appt 2 hours prior. She was very defensive, and abrasive in her communication. My friend (who's cat it is) went to the front desk and said "I am so sorry, I thought the appt was for this time, not that time." And the receptionist just said "okay.."
Then we continued to reschedule the appt.
I was absolutely disgusted that they would speak to us in such a way during such a difficult time.
In addition to this, prior to booking the appt it was advised to us to surrender our fur baby to the Humane Society because they would do the ($8000) surgery and rehome him. I found that to be insane since our cat was terribly traumatized prior to rescue and we could never put him through that distress again. It took nearly year just to get him comfortable enough to be pet by humans. Every time we take him to the vet is a hard time for him. And he had been in so much pain for so long.
We had brought our cat to this doctor a year ago and he stated "he is a healthy cat! No problems" 1 year later he needs a full tooth extraction. With no tests done. We took the cat to another vet for a second opinion (mind you, our cat was so scared of his face being touched we never got to see his teeth first hand) the second vet showed us how far progressed his teeth have become (the worst that dental vet had ever seen) and he ran tests to discover our cat had FIV (cats HIV)
There was no guarantee he would heal and fight any infections following surgery.
At the appointment to put our beloved baby to sleep the vet was cold and disconnected. He did not say much. The receptionist did not greet us or speak to us at all. The only good part of the experience (aside from the peaceful environment that WE created for our fur baby) was the vet tech Kayleigh. She was the only person that was kind and compassionate towards us during such a hard and difficult time.
I will never go back to this animal hospital

The receptionist offered me 2 bookings that exact same day....I was given 2 time-frames, whichever was most suitable, to ensure my dog was given immediate attention. Up until my last visit, October 19, 2019 I have been satisfied and confident in the clinic. Dr Rayala has always inspired me by his clinical behaviour towards my pets and I trust his advice. However, the woman who was there substituting last week appeared more interested in chatting with clinic assistants about subjects that were not animal related, (your clinic walls are not sound-proof), than listening to me and providing care for my tiny 2.7 kilo dog. She was flippant and glib in her attitude and did not care, in fact outright refused, to discuss anything about my poor dog and her problems as an elderly, blind and deaf creature except the diarrhea problem I brought her in for. Her remarks and her actions and the time spent by myself in trying to appease her ("I will NOT treat an animal without a stool sample") by driving home to secure such sample, only upon my return with sample say it was inadequate because of the quality of the doggy pee pads that were used and then charged me to stick her finger up the poor dog's butt (I heard my dog screaming). If the Veterinarian Doctor I have seen until last weekend would like to call me to discuss this, I may return, otherwise, I will be finding another place to take my dog and cats. Thank you to the real Vet Doctor for your past services to my animals. Your kindness and caring attitude very greatly appreciated and to you I give a 5 star review. If your rating site allowed it I would give that woman Vet a minus 1.

I am so happy that we chose to come to this vet. The Dr is very kind with my quite hyper young dog and always takes the time to explain why/what/how he does things. The staff have always been so welcoming of us and I find the prices very reasonable as are their office hours. The added bonus for us is that the office is within an easy walking distance for us.

Seriously such a wonderful vet. The pricing is more than fair and they actually care. My cat had an infected eye and within two days we visited 3 times plus I bought lysine(a vitamin to help with her immune system) which still wasn't even $200 total. The most recent visit we called at 630 pm when they close at 7 and they were able to get us in last minute(we arrived at 650) and we did not feel rushed out the door at all. Our kitty was super happy there as well rolling around and purring. Thanks for everything!

I have been going to Dr. Rayala for almost 4 years. The rescue I fostered for has an account set up and has been taking all of the dogs their for years. Dr. Rayala and staff is always very caring, understanding, and never pushes any extras on you. I started taking my own dog back in the beginning of 2015 and now am taking my newly adopted dog. I would highly reccomend Dr. Rayala to anyone on a budget or anybody who doesnβt want to be pushed on getting extras they donβt need.

This Veterinarian really knows what he's talking about and really helped me to get my dog neutered. My dog has unilateral chryptoidism and the Dr. spent 3 hours looking for the missing one in my dogs abdomen. The surgery was perfectly okay and he's healed right up. He couldn't find it and didn't charge me a penny for it. Really understanding and was amazing with my dog. 100% recommend.

prescriptions/prescription fees. This is something new..was not charged
prior. Other than this I give this clinic a good rating

Worst experience ever. These people will not even try to find out what is wrong with your pet. They offended us by telling us to give our pet away after we have spent countless hours and dollars at many vets to find out our dog has terminal cancer and this vet inspected her and said she is fine. These people must not be real vets, check their qualifications before you leave the life of your pet in their hands.

Excellent experience. My 6 month old pup went in for her spay. She is very shy and skiddish around new people, especially men. The girls were great with her and she took no time to warm up to them. Dr. Visweswara was amazing with my pup, she barked and growled at first, but within a minute was totally fine with him. She let him do the pre-exam with no issues!
The prices are very reasonable. I called 11 places before calling here and by far they were the best. I will definitely be coming back here!

We love Dr. Wessam. She, and all the staff were very caring when we lost our lovely 15 year old dog. She has been amazing with our - terrified of vets cat - (he's a fighter) and our new "rescued us" pet. Through surgeries and check ups, we have always felt our pets were loved and well cared for during their stays. We had to move, and Dr. Wessam even came out to the car to check on the cat we needed to sedate. We would recommend Oxford Animal Hospital to anyone.

This vet took my cat under its wing and now shes doing better. After being jerked around my our previous vet who clearly mistreated her while she was under their care (didn't feed her or give her water) we asked around and came across Oxford Animal Hospital. Honestly I'm so happy with the result, since our previous vet kept jerking us around the bladder stone in my cat grew bigger and she needed a surgery. The process was easy and they took care of her while she was there from beginning to end. After my cats surgery she wouldn't drink or eat to be able to receive her medicine so they (free of charge) gave her a shot instead of oral medication which was extremely helpful. Clearly this vet cares about your animal during and after their time with the pet which is exactly what we've been looking for.
I'm happy and my cat isn't stressed anymore when she comes home from the vet.

My little girl Elvira got Very Very sick this week-end took her in to see the BEST DR RAYALA, (in the past 20 years of owning dogs) I have Never come across such a compassionate and caring DR, He took us right in gave me all the options that I could take in Elvie's journey to recovery. This is the FIRST VET that has put the animal before the mighty $. My family is grateful for ALL that he and his amazing staff have and are doing to ELVIE. An affordable, welcoming vet!
I have been going to Dr. Rayala for almost 4 years. The rescue I fostered for has an account set up and has been taking all of the dogs their for years. Dr. Rayala and staff is always very caring, understanding, and never pushes any extras on you. I started taking my own dog back in the beginning of 2015 and now am taking my newly adopted dog. I would highly reccomend Dr. Rayala to anyone on a budget or anybody who doesnβt want to be pushed on getting extras they donβt need.

This Veterinarian really knows what he's talking about and really helped me to get my dog neutered. My dog has unilateral chryptoidism and the Dr. spent 3 hours looking for the missing one in my dogs abdomen. The surgery was perfectly okay and he's healed right up. He couldn't find it and didn't charge me a penny for it. Really understanding and was amazing with my dog. 100% recommend.

prescriptions/prescription fees. This is something new..was not charged
prior. Other than this I give this clinic a good rating

Worst experience ever. These people will not even try to find out what is wrong with your pet. They offended us by telling us to give our pet away after we have spent countless hours and dollars at many vets to find out our dog has terminal cancer and this vet inspected her and said she is fine. These people must not be real vets, check their qualifications before you leave the life of your pet in their hands.

Excellent experience. My 6 month old pup went in for her spay. She is very shy and skiddish around new people, especially men. The girls were great with her and she took no time to warm up to them. Dr. Visweswara was amazing with my pup, she barked and growled at first, but within a minute was totally fine with him. She let him do the pre-exam with no issues!
The prices are very reasonable. I called 11 places before calling here and by far they were the best. I will definitely be coming back here!

We love Dr. Wessam. She, and all the staff were very caring when we lost our lovely 15 year old dog. She has been amazing with our - terrified of vets cat - (he's a fighter) and our new "rescued us" pet. Through surgeries and check ups, we have always felt our pets were loved and well cared for during their stays. We had to move, and Dr. Wessam even came out to the car to check on the cat we needed to sedate. We would recommend Oxford Animal Hospital to anyone.

This vet took my cat under its wing and now shes doing better. After being jerked around my our previous vet who clearly mistreated her while she was under their care (didn't feed her or give her water) we asked around and came across Oxford Animal Hospital. Honestly I'm so happy with the result, since our previous vet kept jerking us around the bladder stone in my cat grew bigger and she needed a surgery. The process was easy and they took care of her while she was there from beginning to end. After my cats surgery she wouldn't drink or eat to be able to receive her medicine so they (free of charge) gave her a shot instead of oral medication which was extremely helpful. Clearly this vet cares about your animal during and after their time with the pet which is exactly what we've been looking for.
I'm happy and my cat isn't stressed anymore when she comes home from the vet.

My little girl Elvira got Very Very sick this week-end took her in to see the BEST DR RAYALA, (in the past 20 years of owning dogs) I have Never come across such a compassionate and caring DR, He took us right in gave me all the options that I could take in Elvie's journey to recovery. This is the FIRST VET that has put the animal before the mighty $. My family is grateful for ALL that he and his amazing staff have and are doing to ELVIE.
