Stoneybrook Animal Hospital abused my kitten! My kitten Cheeto was neutered on Dec.12, 2017 and this is this terrifying story.Cheeto is an energetic kitten who loves to play and only cares about getting food. He is the perfect addition to our petless home in July. He gets along well with young children and purrs loudly when you pet him.I had my reservations about having my sweet young kitten neutered. He had not started spraying, he does not get a choice in his fertility and he isn't too aggressive. A cat is not allowed to eat or drink 12 hours before undergoing surgery. We diligently kept food and water away from him to prepare. His appointment was for 8am and we were not able to pick him up until 4pm.When I got home, I was horrified to discover that he had not had anything to eat or drink that entire time! I couldn't imagine the amount of distress he was going through trying anything to just get a drink of water! If you're running a business, it may be cost saving not to feed your furry patients but not even water is downright cruel. It was no wonder that when he got home, I found his entire face to be swollen, BLEEDING and cut in two places. The hospital's only explanation for our family was that he did not like the cage. My poor sweet kitten was trying desperately to escape the cruelty of these careless veterinarians and he was so desperate he was willing to hurt himself. He was alone, scared and had no one check on him throughout the day to make sure he was ok.Cats can't talk. He can not get therapy if he has PTSD from this traumatic experience. I am scared that he will be skittish and not himself because of this hospital's carelessness.When we called the hospital, they assured us that they were checking on Cheeto every half an hour and blamed him for being aggressive. At no point did anyone even apologize. How can any employee watch a kitten struggle and hurt himself and not try to help? It doesn't matter how many times you check up on him, if you don't do anything about it! Stoneybrook has been my vet clinic for the past 10 years. Anyone I've ever spoke with in person and on the phone has been kind, patient, helpful and honest. When I had to take my senior cat in to get euthanized, they were really sympathetic and as comforting as could be. When I adopted my dog, he freaked out over having blood taken for heartworm testing, and the vet techs were so patient, and knew what to do with him. They were gentle and patient- they rewarded him when he was calm, and took their time gaining his trust to avoid scaring him. Most vets would hold an animal down to do what needs to get done, but Stoneybrook goes ABOVE and beyond by actually caring for your animals. At the end of the day, it comes down to money for most vets, but for Stoneybrook, it's about the animal's care and comfort. Side note: super affordable compared to other vets in London! Read Less

We have been taking our cats to Stoneybrook for over 17 years and have always had wonderful care! We've had a few unusual issues and Dr Russell has taken the time to further research what might be going on. She has even taken the time to call us during her time off to relay information and test results. Dr Jongert, the vet techs and front desk staff are awesome too! We've been taking our dog Becca there since 2009. I've never had a bad experience there. I don't feel pressured to get things for her. All the staff are very friendly and take good care of her. The doctors are both excellent. I'm writing this review now because she recently had a dental done and I'm pleased with the communication between the clinic and me and my family during and after the procedure. I've been to one other vet in London and it was a horrid experience. Over time and today this place amazed me. Today was still sad but they care genuinely and I appreciate them so much. Stoneybrook is one of the two vets in London that offer at home euthanasia. We knew my lovely kitty was going to die in the near future but we waited until he'd stopped showing signs of happiness (purring) and when he couldn't walk anymore. The day he couldn't walk I knew we had to give him some mercy and I felt sick to my stomach thinking about taking him in a car and to a cold animal clinic. We called Stoneybrook and they said that they usually do the home visits on Friday and it was a Tuesday. They made an exception for us with zero fuss and said the doctor would arrive on her lunch break. My cat was able to die peacefully outside with his loved ones around him under the tree he loved to sleep. Stoneybrook allowed my cat to die in peace and with dignity and it brought closure to me to know that he wasn't afraid when the time came. The doctor was very kind, understanding and was patient while we said our goodbyes even though I'm sure she had to get back to work. I don't have any experience with them in terms of diagnosing his illness or taking him in for check ups. We had that done somewhere else. But I highly recommend them for anyone that prefers to have their pet put to sleep at home. They made everything so much easier to handle. Read Less
