We took our foster Silkie chicken in for an emergency. If youve never kept or borrowed a chicken then you may know that finding a poultry vet in this area is hard. I called and was in within the hour. The secretary apologized for not getting me in sooner. We thought our chicken had broken her neck and she was having seizures every 5 minutes. When we got there he was knowledgeable and we talked in great detail about Silkies and some of the disease and concerns these chickens can have. He gave her some shots offered us advice and sent us home with our chicken we thought we were taking in only to be euthanized! Her neck was sideways and had a lump the size of a softball in it. We left with different meds and a sceduled revisit. He also.is working on a refferal to a neurological clinic at the vet university in Guelph. Since that day he has called daily to see how our chicken is doing and was even kind and patient enough to answer my daughters questions when he called. Kind kind man, talented vet, considerate staff and so reasonably priced. So now he will also be our chicken vet. He sees all our other animals before we took in this foster chicken. HUZZAH all the way for this practice. People like this make London a great place to be. Read Less

My bunny just passed away last night due to severe diarrhea and bloating. It's so painful and tough to watch a small pet dying and suffering untill the last second of her life.. I never been so emotional before and I'm very depressed. She is around five years old and she is really beautiful and smart. Almost two weeks ago, she was diagnosed with coccidiosis, a common disease that every bunny could get, the night before the appointment she was really ill. I immediately went to West London Pet Hospital for the next morning to check with Dr. Tucker. Dr. Tucker gives her an examination first and treats her medicine so it can make her feel better. I deeply trusted him and followed every instruction that should be done after. The medicine that Dr. Tucker gives my little bunny is called "Metacam" which I believe the amount of dose that he put in the syringe is not enough even I'm not an expert. I can tell that he is not putting his heart and responsibility into saving a life and just babbling around that sounds like he flatters himself on his medical treatment. He is like everything will be fine, just following the damn procedure.. The pet hospital charged me more than 200 dollars which it is not a small expense for a student. After my bunny passed away and I wrote an email to him and he just avoiding the responsibility and not responding, he should give me and my rabbit a proper apologize due to his poor medical treatment. The veterinary in here are so lack of responsibility, poor medical treatment, and poor medical ethics; they have to know how to behave them self first and then you can be eligible to take care of other life. Be patient and love your job. Dr. Tucker, if you can't save a little bunny's life then I would doubt you can't save other life's too. Sorry be so rude but this is the way it is. You are just an escaper and clown. I highly not recommended people go to this place, a place like this should be not called a pet hospital instead of a profit - making institution. Read Less

Despite everyone's positive reviews, I unfortunately had a bad experience. I have had an issue with this clinic since day one. This is a long review, so be aware for an essay! On my very first appointment, my ferret was in for a glucose check because he has insulinoma. Without my knowledge, Dr. Tucker cut his quick to draw blood when he couldn't get a sample from his ear. I was appalled by this, because cutting the quick is a vein and painful! I didn't want my poor baby to associate nail clippings to be a negative experience, especially since I clip them at home too. I called the receptionist and I expressed my concerns, but I later received a medical history with her report, "I tried to explain to her it was not cruel, but kept talking over me." I did not talk over her, only expressing my concerns. I am speaking on behalf of my furry children, and clearly the receptionist takes it as a personal attack instead. After speaking with them to not cut his quick to draw blood, Dr. Tucker ignored my request and said, "I only do it when I have to. Like when I can't get a sample from his ear." No, I told him I didn't want it done, period. I felt he didn't listen. Recently in 2017, I went for another glucose check up. I arrive to my appointment for 3PM and booked a week in advance. When I arrived, I was informed by a technician that a glucose check could not be done today, because they ran out of glucose strips. Really? You had a week to notify me, and my appointment was later in the afternoon, so they had more than enough time to call me to let me know my appointment could not be done. Dr. Tucker also felt some lumps on my ferret's neck and arms, but said it was just fat rolls and nothing serious. I took him to another vet and they suspect Lymphoma, including a specialist in GUELPH! So much for being a "specialist" if he can't even detect a common cancer in ferrets. Fed up, I sent them an e-mail on my reasons on why I will not be returning. The response was short, consisting of "Relationship between vet and client is crucial, and we agree there has been a break down of this relationship." No apology, whatsoever. I left another e-mail and voicemail requesting all their medical history to be e-mailed to me, and it's been almost two weeks and no one has contacted me! Appalling service, absolutely unreasonable to be this unprofessional. I am leaving this detailed review as I have not received an apology or a response in regards to receiving my ferrets' records. This clinic is not professional, honest, nor respect your clients, current or former. Take your pet elsewhere! Read Less

I've been going to Dr. Tucker for many years now. There are very few vets I trust with my rabbits and Dr. Tucker has been excellent with rabbits. From surgeries to dental work to methodical deduction of troubleshooting problems, Dr. Tucker has been incredible in demonstrating his ability for rabbit care. It's really difficult to find a good rabbit-savvy vet and I'm very pleased that I've found one. Having said that, my praise also goes to his staff who are just as important to me. They are excellent with customer service and I love going there knowing that I am not an anonymous customer. They've stood with me through our successes and through the difficult times when options have run out. They care about my rabbits as much as I do. Lastly, not that this should be a selling feature, but West London Pet Hospital is reasonably priced. I have never felt that I didn't get my "money's worth". This is important for rabbit owners because we are given very few signs between a rabbit being unwell to a downright emergency, and the best solution is that any signs of illness should be examined quickly. I like knowing that if my rabbit is unwell but it's something mild, it didn't cost me a fortune to find out. Read Less
