I suggest that you avoid this vet at all costs. A visit to them, and subsequent misdiagnosis, almost cost my dog her life. I visited the vet again after my dog had fully recovered to discuss this with them, and in their words "we accept no responsibility for our vet's diagnosis or prescriptions". Needless to say, I will not be risking my pet's life at Clarkson no matter what the circumstances. There are many other vets in the area who instead work with integrity and honesty to choose from. I can't even give this business a 1 Star . Just negligent!!! Never go there. I had to put my little girl down. She was my everything. 11 years with me. I paid to have her paw imprint and when I went to pick her up it wasn't there. They told me that basically the lady forgot to write in the order. How negligent is that. The last 2 things I wanted and they took that away from me. She was by my side when I had a tumour , paralyzed , had my breast removed and she was all I had. How can someone forget to fill out the paper work. I would have thought someone who works at a animal hospital would know and have understanding how hard is to lose a member of your family. My family and I had a very positive experience at Clarkson Village Hospital.  Similarly to other reviewers, our first stop was the Mississauga Oakville Animal Hospital after our little pup was unfortunately attacked by another dog. After waiting for nearly 2 hours at Mississauga - Oakville with a bleeding dog who had not even been triaged, we decided to try our luck with Clarkson. For context, the dog ended up needing 12 external and 5 internal stitches and this wasn't a small wound. At Clarkson we were immediately greeted by Helma who was incredibly warm and friendly, the doctor promptly examined our pup, suggested surgery to close the large bite wound and explained all of our options relating to his surgery.  We did not feel pressured, oversold or rushed to make our decision. Clarkson was accommodating to us in every way possible and genuinely just wanted us to choose the best option for our dog.  It's also worth mentioning that our dog is incredibly timid around humans - he is a puppy mill rescue and has never quite gotten over it with strangers.  Having just been attacked by another dog, which was quite traumatic, Helma did literally EVERYTHING to make him feel as calm as possible.  I was able to stay with him until surgery time, including during examination, triage, blood work etc. She even carried him to surgery because he was so scared on the leash. Additionally, surgery went off without a hitch.  Three days post-op and our little guy has seen his family veterinarian who is very pleased with his surgery results and treatment plan.  Thank you Dr. Jeung and Helma! We will no longer be wasting our time with Mississauga-Oakville in the unfortunate event of an emergency with our little guy and you will be our first stop. Read Less

On February 20, 2016, we had to put down amazing Rudy. Rudy was our beautiful 21 year old cat. He was a wonderful cat but fell ill. The staff at Clarkson Village Animal hospital were amazing. On January 20, 2018, we had to put down our beautiful Trinity. Trinity was 20 and got sick. Her and Rudy grew up together their entire lives and they were like brother and sister. I want to say a special thank you to CSR, Natasha Rynska who was there for us. She was so supportive and treated all of us like family. Natasha is an amazing person with animals:). On January 27, 2018, we were fortunate enough to adopt a new kitten, Ebony. Clarkson Village Animal hospital has been there since we adopted her at 7 weeks old. She was just spayed and had her stitches/staples removed today. Every time we go in, Natasha greats us by our names and is always happy to see Ebony growing. Thank you to everyone at Clarkson Village Animal hospital for such great service and treating us all like family. Keep up the amazing things you all do there. Erika Read Less

Terrific care for my cats including the vets like, Dr. Cusmariu and Dr. Rahho, and everyone else who go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and confident that they can take care of your "fur babies". Even for me who is always asking questions and the littlest thing can worry me, their team is always there to help answer and easy my stress about my "kids". Went there because they were open late and nothing else. Although the nurses seemed nice, the doc that we met wasn’t caring or warm at all. He seemed like he just wanted to charge as much as he could. At one point, they called us in to restrain our cat because she was hissing and she needed to be sedated! The doctor didn’t even administer the shot! WARNING! DO NOT go here! They are money first. How could you be in that business if your best interest is not about making the pet and owner comfortable? I know! Let’s charge the owners who are in need, huge amounts of cash because they have no choice! I am surprised that you don’t have to pay for using their washroom and they do have free coffee! Otherwise, they will try to justify charging you for things that other vets don’t. TERRIBLE! Read Less

We had been bringing our dogs here for past 5 years and while the service was very good for. A while,we started finding that each time we came there was an immediate focus on ‘more testing ‘ before they even started the exam. Just seems to be about upselling every time we went. Now they do not even examine your dog in front of you but take them to the back- doesn’t feel right. Very disappointed that they seem more interested inflating the bill then give the right care at the right time. We are changing vets now and very happy. Read Less

4/16/18- My dog was 17, we thought it would be a good idea to find a place to take him in case of any emerg. We had never been here before but i read all the reviews and called and they were very nice so i decided to pick them. The time came that we needed to put my sweet dog down and from the moment we called, walked in and left everyone was really nice. They made the hardest processes of my life, as easy as they could and i am so grateful. Even after the fact, i had questions and concerns and i must have called 3-4 times. They answered all my questions and the doctor who helped us even called me back for the reassurance i needed, i was so grateful because she put my mind at ease. I am not one to write reviews unless they are really bad or really good. I felt that i needed to write this because my dog was everything to me. I was extremely picky on where i took him and who i left him with.. and after going through this touch experience with the hospital, i can say without a doubt that i made the right choice in choosing them, and the next time we decide to get a pet, i won't even think twice about where i will bring them. Thank you for being so compassionate, we appreciate it so much. Read Less

Wife overreacted and took the cat in with nothing wrong because he was favouring his eye a bit. The doc did a basic check and found nothing so he offered to send a swab to a lab for some absurd sum that I told him I didn't care for, he then sold us some drops and asked "do you want to know how much they cost first?" With a condescending tone, when all he needed to do was tell her he was fine and send us off, then tossed in a cone that I also never used for a grand total of almost 200$. UNETHICAL - DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR ANIMAL OR YOUR MONEY! Imagine being on the other side of the world and your dog is at boarding facility and needs to be seen by a vet (you speak to a female vet and she doesn’t seem too concerned just wants to get to the bottom why he is suddenly acting off). You hand them over your credit card- you are charged $1425 and emailed the generic copy of the visa receipt right away. An hour or so later you get a call from a male vet (Dr Hertel) and he tells you your dog has cancer (“in his liver and/or lungs that spread” ). He also tells you that the dog has a “few hours maybe a few days to live”. So now you’re an emotional wreck & you stay up all night calling friends/family sharing this news and finding a caregiver who is emotionally capable of handling the dog in his final hours. In order for you to fly home it will take you 2 plane changes and you won’t make it until 36 hours later. You contemplate forfeiting the rest of your trip at a loss of $6,000 CAD. You just want to say goodbye. You email them asking for a photo of him- email ignored but you are told he is “doing okay”. You later find out that CANCER cannot be diagnosed from an x-ray (LIES!). Your dog was NEVER in serious condition that would warrant someone telling you the end was so near. You paid for 12 hours of medical care/oxygen treatment only received 10 hours (but they still ask you for more money). You requested a copy of your invoice THREE TIMES (via email) to see what you paid for- you finally receive it 17 days after the fact after complaining. Other important details have been omitted as this review needs to be short (feel free to contact me). This individual is not even listed as a staff member on their website (the clinic states he has worked for them for years and doesn’t want his name/photo online). Use your own judgement. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! P.S Thankfully our dog is still here and doing great! Read Less

Horrible experience... just came from this vet hospital and doctor Rafita was in super rush and super expensive. First she said 681$ for flushing anal gland abscess of my pet. Later she reduced it to under 200$. When we refused for the procedure and told her we are taking pet to our family vet. tomo. Vet seems upset and still charge me 126$. $88 for just a simple and quick check up for few min. Plus bad with timing. Appointment was at 9pm. Checked at 11pm. Super unsatisfactory and rip off. Follow up: went to family vet next day. She did same procedure with antibiotic and painkiller. Total cost was only 214$. No anesthesia was needed on the flip side Clarkson vet said anesthesia is required. It took 10min as opposed to 4 hrs. Felt vindicated myself. Read Less

I just got my puppy two weeks ago and I really wanted him to have a good experience so he doesn't "hate going to the vet". I did my research and thought this would be a good place. It is a bit of a drive for me but totally worth it. The vet took her time to explain everything to me (current and future vaccines needed) as well as does and don'ts with puppies, which as a first time owner I appreciated it. My puppy is a very happy boy and he was perfect after he came out. No bad effects on the vaccine either and they also did his nails for me at no charge and gave me a bag of food. Overall, this will be our new vet! Staff is very friendly and really likes dogs. Read Less

I went into Clarkson Village Animal Hospital as my regular vet is not open on Sundays. I will start by saying the staff were friendly, I was given an estimate break down before any procedures were performed on my dog and I found the rates reasonable, especially considering this is a 24 hour clinic. I am writing this as unbias as possible but I am coming from a dog training background using positive reinforcement training methods. I have worked incredibly hard with my very shy/fearful dog. I made the staff aware of this during our visit and explained that I have worked hard to have my dog as calm as possible at the vet. Given his issues, his version of "calm" at the vets is not calm at all but tolerates being there. He is also scared of the car so as soon as we arrived he was already stressed. I was repeatedly told about how stressed my dog was and how important it was to try to keep him calm when we got home. I found this incredibly frustrating as I am aware of my dogs stress levels and had explained this to the vet. Meanwhile as soon as we got home he calmed down immediately. I know that I am a responsible pet owner and knowledgeable about dog behavior and felt very put down by the condescending repetitiveness from the vet regarding his stress. During our approximate hour visit at the vet, I noticed that the staff tended to be quite correction based. Although it was nice to see a veterinary office implementing some structure and training ie. expecting the dogs to sit as well as take treats gently, not everyone uses the same methods. I specifically asked the staff to use lots of treats with my dog and not to correct him whatsoever. I said I would rather pay to have him sedated then have him further stressed. To my knowledge they respected that and did not. However, while my dog was being treated and I was waiting, I could hear another dog barking in a kennel in the back. Obviously dogs at the vet are going to be under stress and bark. I heard someone yelling sternly at the dog to "be quiet" "shut up" as well as what sounded like a smack to the kennel door followed by silence. Then the barking started again a few minutes later. Barking dogs in a vet clinic is to be expected and even if the staff member was having a bad day this should not be acceptable. There were many staff members around, I could hear conversations but no one said a thing to the woman yelling at the dog over about a 15 minute period. That poor dog was under stress, likely ill/injured, surrounded by strangers and being yelled at. I am giving this review such a low rating in the hopes that it does not get lost in the sea of other reviews and think it is an important review for positive reinforcement house holds. I do think this clinic would be GREAT for anyone who uses corrective based training but it just was not for us. Read Less

My dog had a bone in her stomach and she started to bloat at 2 in the morning. We went there and after examinations, they gave her some calming medication which ultimately helped her in the end. Absolutely very grateful that they were able to help at such an early time but the cost of the examination and the bottle of pills (that costs about 20$ ) was over 600$. This included an x-ray and physical examination. My dog needed just the medication to calm down a bit since she was getting worried. Last night, our beautiful black Lab Angel appeared to be in distress, so a dear animal loving friend of mine suggested they heard many glowing reports from pet owners about the deep compassion and care shown at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital. I called just after 9:00 pm on Sunday evening of the holiday weekend and was told to bring our dog in. Within minutes of arriving Dr. Mudrick and his assistant looked Angel over and with love and skill showed us with tests her prognosis. We had to let her go to the god of all that's pure and unconditionally loving. My wife and I were sobbing over our Angel and inconsolable, however this team of genuine godsends cradled us as we let her go in our arms. Remuneration is next to nothing to this hospital. I can never express our gratitude enough to these kind spirits who tried to comfort us as best they could in our time of grave despondency. I can only recommend with all of my heart this wondrous army of love for your furry companion' I thank again all at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital and you will too. David and Teresa Read Less

My husband's and my 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier needed emergency eye care for her only remaining eye on the weekend when she was visiting my parents home in Niagara Falls. Our regular vet in Niagara referred us to an emergency hospital where they have an ophthalmologist in the Oakville/Mississauga region. We had our poor little Miu Miu stay at an emergency hospital in the Niagara Region for the weekend, because we were told that the specialist isn't available until the following Monday morning! So here comes Monday morning, the family rushes her into the emergency hospital that we were referred to.  Her cataract and melting ulcer was explained to me and finally was told that shes not even responding to light; my JRT needed an enucleation. Unlike the fist clinic we were referred to, Clarkson's receptionists were friendly, everything was explained to me in detail, and I felt comfortable leaving my baby with them for treatment. And so, after explaining my situation over the phone to a kind lady named Jeeyeon, we have decided to transfer Miu Miu to Clarkson Village Animal Hospital. It was the best decision I have ever made! Jeeyeon introduced me to a vet, Dr. Dewit. My first impression: honest, straight-forward, doesn't beat around the bush. She actually cared. Dr. Dewit explained everything in greater detail than the previous hospital and gave me several options (Yes, options are available here). I was then introduced to the doctor who would be performing the surgery, Dr. Noorlander. I was informed when the surgery started and when it has ended. He himself called me to tell me how Miu Miu is doing. He did an excellent job and I was able to take to her home the next day, along with some antibiotics and pain killers. Even after the rechecks, the staff calls to see how she's doing. She's doing excellent of course. She walks, eats, sleeps (snores), growls and howls. People don't even realize that she's blind. My entire family would like to say thank you for treating Miu Miu so well. We will refer all pet owners we know to Clarkson Village Animal Hospital.  If we could give more than 5 stars, we would do so in a heart beat. Read Less

Read Less

TERRIBLE!

Read Less

Read Less

Read Less
