So happy to have found this hospital. I had a terrible time finding appropriate care for my budgie, Baby. She was egg-bound a few weeks ago. I tried calling so many Vets in Toronto and it turned out that most clinics weren't equipped to examine/treat birds and the limited ones that could, weren't able to accommodate her due to their hours of operation, even though it was a medical emergency! I was appreciative of the vet offices providing alternate office numbers. I called ma...ny, and one of the places I was referred to was the emerg hospital in Guelph (I live in Toronto) where I ended up paying far too much with no results. It felt like the emerg doc in Guelph was insincere and used fear tactics to have my budgie stay overnight rather than recommend a vet with avian experience. After much frustration, I came across the Creditview Animal & Bird Hospital on the following day. From the phone conversation to the end of the procedure, I felt like I was in good hands. Dr. Kevin Saldanha was experienced and described everything in detail and how in Baby's case, she wouldn't be able to lay the egg naturally due to her condition, and would require surgery asap. I wished I had found Creditview animal and bird hospital at first. The quality of care and service was impeccable. They made sure to fit Baby in as it was an emergency and I was very appreciative of that. When a clinic goes above and beyond, it shows how much they genuinely care about your pets. My green cheek broke his leg and I took him to credit view animal & birds, Dr. Saldanha looked at him and he said to leave him there and he will take care of him. He did explained that he took an x-ray and his bone broken in one place and he was able to splint him and he is good to go. Read Less

I saw some lumps under my budgie cheek patch , he was extra itchy and excessively preening. I googled my birds symptoms online and came to the conclusion that he had mites. I took him here because he this vet was the most reasonably priced. This vet took his type listen to his symptoms, inspected him, observed his behaviour and all together spent an hour with my budgie and diagnose him with a special types mites (these mites were not the kind that you could see with your naked eye or that appeared after you placed a white sheet over the cage .) gave him medicine and buffed his beak for free, I paid for the visit , the medicine& getting his nails cut. It only coast me 60$. They even called to check up on him a week later. Best vet ever . Especially if you a new owner ! Read Less

I just visited this veterinarian with my Canary, Lemon. I had to come on here and let everyone know what a great place this is! From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcome and relaxed. I generally feel very anxious at the vet as things can quickly get pricey and often we are there for less than ideal reasons! Anyhow, Dr.Saldanha was very gentle and kind to my sweet little canary. He very delicately looked him over and even removed his band that was a little snug. I have no doubt that Lemon will be on the mend now.I highly recommend this practice! Read Less

I brought my exotic pet here a few times thinking I've found my go-to vet.I  provided my pet's medical history & had gotten into some small talk about where I adopted my pet from. I was very annoyed when I had next met with Dr Saldanha, as he stated he had called the place I had adopted my pet from & that they verbally verified the information I provided. I got the impression Dr Saldanha thought I was lying for some reason, & instead of asking me for permission to contact the place of origin, he just went ahead anyways without any mention to me. I wish I could say this was the only problem I had here.  Months later I had a severe medical emergency with my pet, who I had brought in overnight to an emergency animal hospital in critical condition (they couldn't provide her adequate care because she was an exotic).  I called his clinic as soon as they opened & proceeded to relay the urgency of the situation, which at this point I was told by the emergency hospital that she only had a few hours left unless she received immediate attention from her vet. I was floored when the female on the other end began asking me about vaccinations & if I would like to schedule some vaccine (which I had made clear I was not in favour of in past appointments, nor is it mandatory for this type of animal).  She started pushing the vaccine & talking about costs - that was it! At this point it was obvious to me that this clinic had no regard for the well-being of my pet, instead they seemed more concerned about upselling other services I don't require! I was disgusted with the way the clinic handled my emergency with my dying pet! I took a chance at another exotic veterinary clinic that morning & I could not be happier! Not only did the other clinic save my baby's life after several days of procedures, but they went above & beyond anything I've ever seen before.I will never return to the Creditview Animal & Bird Hospital again & will not recommend it! We are so happy we found Dr. Saldanha and his team. He is amazing with our parrots and has far more avian experience than any other vet in our area. A few months ago we had some concerns about our baby CAG and brought him in -he immediately put us at ease and gave some excellent advice. He even called a few days later to check up on how our bird was doing and offered further advice after researching our parrot's unique issues. Dr. Saldanha and his professional team have provided the best medical care my dog could get. My 4 years old rescue was spayed last week, and there was complication during the surgery. It was quite a roller coaster ride for everyone, but he has made the best decision for her well being. My girl is recovering speedily. Thank you so much everyone!!!! :) Read Less

Dr. Saldanha is a very caring vet!  It has been a couple of years since I took my beloved 13 year old budgie for a check up...it was a sad day as she was diagnosed with cancer.  A few days later he called to check up on her.  I will never forget how nice it was to know that he really cares about his patients!
