The staff is very friendly and explained me with lots of patience all the questions I have asked.cost is also not so high comparatively to other vet clinics.. It was great experience to go there. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!. When I took my puppy first time the vet was super nice and very was gentle with my puppy. However the vet tech or the receptionist... I have no clue who she was or what was her job ,but she was focused on selling their stuff. I am saying forcing me to buy their products. She started to ask me what do I feed my pup and what do I use to wipe him. When I told her she started to bash pet smart and their products and how it will kill my puppy. When I told her I wipe my pet with petkins wipe she was so sure that my pup is going to get infections because its a bad product. She also forced me to do a poop sample when I just did it 2 weeks ago. When I told him I would like to pass that she asked "do you not care about your puppy". I have noooo clue why they hired her to service the animals or to sell products. This was my first experience. They booked us for the 3 round of shots. When we went second time it was a older gentlemen ( I believe the owner) as the vet came and asked me to hold my dog and gave no warning that he was going to put 3 needles and a shot of benedryl. we just stood there as what was going on. after the needle another vet tech came to cut my puppies nails. Last time they gave treat while they were cutting the nails just to distract but this time she told me to hold him tight. I felt bad as he just got the needles and it might hurt him so I mentioned can I give treats while you cut. she replied with a very rude tone of voice "he is going to have to get use to it". I did not know what to say at this point I wanted to get the hell out of there. As I was forced to hold him so tight he was moving so much and Vet tech was screeming at him..."HEYYY, STOPP,, Im going to stab if you move". I have noooo words to explain how Angry I am. I advice you!! Do not go here for they will bash other products and sell theirs, and their way of handles these animals are very insensitive. Here is the worse part. When we came home after that shots, my puppy started to develop redness around his eyes and his face started to swell. we took him to the emergency hospital. That is when They said he is way too young to take so much in (3 needles+benedryl) in one day we had to spend about 700 bucks treating him. hope this helps! Read Less

They looked after my cat for twenty years and showed great compassion when we had to have her put to sleep. Currently they look after our new kitten and our dog. I wouldn't think of taking them anywhere else. Read Less

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I took my dog there to get a check up - ended up spending alot of $$$ for a blood sample. They took my dog to a different room and two seconds later he was out. Didn’t even take his blood. After the visit I never heard back from the vet ever. No emails and no phone calls about my dogs results. I took my dog elsewhere turned out he was FINE and on top of that this veterinarian took my dogs blood sample infront of us !! I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY DOG THERE AGAIN for his own safety. Read Less

We brought our puppy to the clinic in much anxiety because our puppy has been so restless for the past two days and we didn’t know what to do. So we came to our usual clinic to find out that she has developed ear infection. The staffs over there, specially the nurse Ania and the doctor were compassionate and helpful in every aspect. My family and I went here to put down our cat. He was 16 and weighed 6 lbs, he was tiny. Very sick. I figured it should be an easy, routine procedure. He was supposed to receive 2 shots, one to make him very sleepy and one to put him to sleep. Instead, here is what he received: 1 initial shot (pissed him off, obviously), this shot didn't have the desired effect. So he received a 2nd shot of the same drug, which still didn't have the desired effect. He now received a 3rd (THIRD!!) shot of a different drug, which immobilized him, but he was still awake and growling. He was pretty much growling throughout the whole procedure. Finally, he received the final shot to the heart (which to me seemed like the Vet struggled to find). That's 3 shots more than my cat should have received. Poor animal had to suffer way more than he should have in his final hour. 4 shots total instead of 2!! The Vet also kept calling my cat "she". My cat was a he. And i corrected the Vet, who continued to call him "she" regardless. The girl helping also called my cat "she". So annoying. So...botched job putting down my cat. Awful having to see him go through that right before the end. Wouldn't recommend anyone go here to put down their animal. Read Less

We feel comfortable taking our two cats to Dixie Animal Hospital. Dr Hessing is great. You can tell she really loves animals and she is very knowledgable. She listens to what you have to say and is always responsive to any concerns one may have. She is gentle with our two boys and we feel very comfortable leaving them in her care. Her staff are also really friendly and helpful whenever we have to deal with them. The clinic is clean and tidy and very welcoming. Read Less

Dixie Animal Hospital has taken care of our Furry family members over the last 2 decades. Our Furry Family members are always happy to see everyone there! Dr. Hessing explains the procedures and talks through diagnoses with you. It helps us because we know our pets and what we can do to help them. The team members at Dixie are all professional caregivers and provide excellent care for our pets when they are in for routine or more elaborate procedures. We have been going to Dixie Animal Hospital for nearly 20 years. We currently have 4 dogs and we feel they are getting great care. We had one little guy we lost when he was more than 18 years old, Dr Hessing doesn't suggest extremes of treatment that would probably make your pet feel worse just to give them a few more days. She is a very caring vet that has always looked at the whole approach to pet care- not just medication. She's provided great advice to us over the years. Wouldn't take them anywhere else. Read Less

Today I forgot to bring my dog's vet food from home in Oakville. So I was forced to go to the closest vet to get him some food so he didn't starve. I think it is unfair I had to buy a whole case of food and not just one can. I would have paid $5 for a can but instead I had to pay $50 for a case. There is no fair customer service or doing a favour for a hungry dog by letting a hungry dog buy one can. I will never forget his food again or ever go to this vet again! Ever. Read Less
