Don't give these frauds your money, go to a vet that will respect you as a pet owner and only dole out advice thats needed, not common sense idiocy.

I came here with my dog with no appointment crying and scared I was gonna lose the best dog ever! She comforted me and allowed me to stay with my dog while she figured out he had bloat. Even after taking care of him and me a lil as well she didn't leave his side she explained everything to me and treated my dog with the most care I've ever seen in a vet she treated him like family and that to me is amazing I highly recommend Dr Patterson to anyone looking for a truly amazing vet even when it came down to payments she allowed me a payment program because I hadn't thought to bring money with I will never go to another vet in my life, you can tell she loves animals as much as anyone can and shows it through her professionalism and compassion!!

I have used McCleary for many years. They do know a lot about animals and do surgery onsite as well. But they have become extremely aggressive and even rude at charging extra money without giving opportunity to refuse unnecessary extra charges.
They have a well polished routine where the vet disappears and you are asked to pay without having a full explanation of everything that was done. They seem surprised and inconvenienced when asked to explain or print it off for you to review.
Recently I had a terrible experience there. My dog develops an occasional yeast infection in the ears when the weather warms up. It is cured quickly with a tube of Outomax ointment ($50). But this time Margory Paterson, the main vet, said she would do a "full ear flush". She wanted wanted to proceed without saying how much it cost. When I asked, I was told it would cost $500(+tx) and required the dog to be put under (sedated). When I refused and asked why Outomax was not prescribed, Marge snapped back that "I had not asked for it" (!?). I left and got the Outomax ointment elsewhere, and it worked perfectly once again.
But was was very displeased. The experience was rude, unprofessional and very uncomfortable. They have always been expensive and aggressive at extra charges, but this recent experience was over the top. I was very disappointed to see such a high focus on money, while also putting my dog at unnecessary risk with sedation. I will never go back there again.
A WORD OF CAUTION: IF YOU DECIDE TO GO THERE: be sure to state very clearly in advance that you want to be informed of all potential costs BEFORE they are applied. It is also a good idea to research the basic care your pet requires, and ensure you know when they are suggesting things that are not really needed. The $ add up quick.

They are always there for me when I need them. I've never been turned away, even if it's after hours, and they go the extra mile not only with my own pets but my clients pets as well. They may be a bit pricey but I have yet to find a vet that will go to the extremes for a client. For example, I had a situation with a dog under my care. When I called it's vet (Oakpark Vet Hospital) I was told to google it and they couldn't help me. Odd response seeing how it's one of their clients. I had Googled it earlier but would rather speak to a professional. I called McCleary and right away the head Vet took the time out of her busy schedule to answer my questions. She also referred me to a blog that would have even more information as she was in the middle of an appointment. I no longer have a dog under their care as she passed away and currently am not a client of theirs any longer but this just goes to show that even though I am no longer a client they are still willing to give advice and information.

charged me more than they said they would because my cat apparently had "mats" on her head, which she didn't they couldn't explain why i was charged over $100 when i should have been charged $65.00 there was no extra work to be done, a standard grooming and that was it. the groomer was ready to argue as soon as she came to explain the charges and i knew there was nothing i could do about it. i guess since it was friday she needed beer money.
i will never bring my animal back there ever again. nor will i EVER recommend anyone bring their animal their. they do not treat them well and only give two ##$@ about money.

I came here with my dog with no appointment crying and scared I was gonna lose the best dog ever! She comforted me and allowed me to stay with my dog while she figured out he had bloat.
