No idea if this business is still owned by the same people. A number of years ago this used to be our vet... until one time they said our dog had to be kept there overnight for observation (he was bitten by our neighbour's dog). The next day when we went to pick him up, we found out that not one employee stays there overnight. They also charged a very expensive bill for locking my dog in a cage alone all night, with no one watching him. There are way better 24 hour animal hospitals in Mississauga, with vets who actually stay there all night watching their patients... I've used two recently. Read Less

My dog has been coming to Pet Vet his whole life, I don't have any major complaints about his care but because he see's multiple doctors at Pet Vet I often get conflicting advice. I also don't like that there really isn't any transparency on pricing and testing. I always ask to be quoted upfront, and I've never once in the 7 years I've been going here had the chance to pay what I was quoted for the service - it's almost always $100 more which at this point is no coincidence. In chatting with some of his doctors as well I've noticed that many of them have very strong breed specific opinions. Percy is a Shar Pei so I'm always told how surprised they are that he is friendly or for example, I hear a lot of negative feedback about Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Dobermans etc. As a dog trainer myself, I know that taking animals on a case by case basis is very important. It causes me to wonder how much of his treatment is a just a generalization rather than what he needs given his breed, size, age, and temperament and medical history. He also recently had his nails trimmed - I was told it was complimentary, but at the front desk I was informed that I needed to pay $20. One of his nails had been cut too short and he bled for a bit, I know this can happen from time to time BUT no one bothered to let me know - I'm sure Percy was uncomfortable when the incident happened, it would have been nice for a staff member to take the initiative to explain the situation. On Wednesday I had to bring my cat Buster to the Vets. He was showing the same symptoms as his brother Bradley who had passed away nine months previous while waiting in the waiting room to see the Vet. After a long discussion with the Vet I had decided the best course of action for Buster was euthanasia. This was supported by the Vetranarian although at the time I was not sure of what the opinion of the staff member was. The staff member accept my payment for the procedure and ask if I would like to have Busters ashes return to me. I asked her if she could instead release Buster's ashes on the grounds in the same location as his brother Bradley's. She acknowledge my request and left the room. After another long goodbye I knew I had to go before I lost it and left the room. While leaving the building I passed bye the same staff member who said to me that I "Enjoy the rest of my day." ??? I want to preface and say that all the staff are VERY kind and they were really good with my dog. I would be giving this place five stars if it wasn't for the incident below. First appointment for rabies shot went well and the doctor was very caring. The second appointment was with a groomer, who was also very sweet and mentioned my dog was one of the most pleasant to groom. But we noticed after we picked him up he was sightly limping on his back paw. We figured it was a tiny nick in his paw and assumed it would heal. The next morning we took him to the dog park, and as soon as he started to run, his nail had snapped off and was bleeding. My dogs had never had ANY issues before this groom, or any other groomer for the past 7 years we had taken him. I went in immediately to the vet so they could take care of it. A well priced groom that was at 63 dollars, now ended up costing me a grand total of 230 dollars for an examination, a nail removal and antibiotics. I mentioned that he was problem free before, but the technician just said that was their fee. No sorry, no sympathy. I am very upset and disappointed to see a complete lack of accountability for mistakes they were responsible for. My pet will not be returning. Read Less

After over 20 years of having PetVet Credit Valley look after the health of all my furbabies, and how many thousands of dollars we have paid to them for that care, we are taking our business elsewhere. Somewhere along the line the business philosophy there has changed from the well-being of the animal to the well-being of their bank account. I get that they are a business and are in it to make money, but gouging your loyal clientele is pretty stupid. We paid over $400 for Cooper's annual check up, which didnt even include full vaccines because they finally agreed to follow the rest of the non-greedy veterinary society and go to every 2 years (even though most say 3 years!). Then I get a call a few days later saying they made a mistake and I still owe another $160!! When I questioned it they said it was some visiting vet who forgot to add a charge for blood work that we didn't even ask for! They won't discuss it. They can't see that it's not my mistake to eat. They want their money. So I hope the extra $138 was worth the loss of our future business (a further mistake credited me $27 for medication they didn't give me). We are moving on. Read Less
