By far the best vet in the city! They are the nicest , most caring team and do everything to make you and your animal feel at ease and comfortable . One of my dogs has anxiety and I could not be more impressed with the treatment we receive when we go and how Dr. bell and staff go out of their way to make him feel at ease . I got him neutered today and the girls cuddled with him , so he didn’t have to be alone . You can truly tell that they really care about your pet . I moved to Ottawa a few years ago and tried a couple different vets before ending up at Cedarview. The staff here are so friendly and efficient, you can tell they really care about your pet from the moment you walk in. I’ve seen Dr. Bell and Dr. Gumley and they are both wonderful and very knowledgeable. One of our dogs is a rescue who absolutely does not like strangers, especially males, and she has no issue with either of the male Veterinarians which is so amazing to see. This is a dog who goes after everyone and everything new to her, yet she’s so comfortable with both of them, blows my mind honestly. I have been a client here for almost a year now. I've come in for vaccinations, diagnoses, exploratory procedures, prescriptions, etc. I have been beyond pleased with the professionalism, innovation, and friendliness of this clinic. My Veterinarian is Dr Evan Bell. He has been very compassionate to my dogs issues. Never once has he judged me for the choices i make for my dog. The extra mile has always been taken to make sure I understand what is going on medically with my dog. After many vets before him, I finally feel like I have an ally rather than a prosecutor. Each and every tech I've been acquainted with has been a dream. After only a couple of visits, the staff was remembering my pooch: something I'd never before experienced. Many are certified practitioners of "no fear" protocols, and are very compassionate to how your companion is feeling. I love being with this clinic specifically because I know how forward thinking they are. This place is great! Called this morning because my puppy has worms and they got him in fast. I must have had at least 6 employees come take time out of their busy day to love him up. Vet was so patient and friendly. Everything was explained to us in great detail. I never once felt like they were trying to rush us out. Absolutely great quality service in every respect. I will definitely be making this my puppys permanent vet office. Plus I had coffee in the waiting room and after dealing with worms coming out your dogs butt who doesn't need a good coffee. A recent , recurrent vomiting episode gave me cause for concern when my 12 year old Reina just didn't seem to be herself. I recognize from past experience with Cedarview staff and Dr. Gumley that a thorough professonal approach to diagnosing and resolving the issue of necessary, would be the way it would be handled. My concerns were addressed in a prompt and compassionate way with thorugh explanatons for each step of suggested tests. The BEST vet!! Everyone is always so great with our dog. He is only a little over 1 year old and quite a handful (always looking for the treats and attention) but the staff handles him with such patience and care. Nikita had such a great experience today! I was expecting a horror show with her aggression issues but Dr. Evan Bell and the girls made her feel safe by letting her sniff around to explore the office, then distracted her with lots (LOTS) of peanut butter! She didn't even flinch for her shots and she seemed to really enjoy herself! I've always had a great experience with my other 2 dogs Georgie (who had cancer and cardiomyopathy) and Apollo (my 3 legged foster for canine rehabilitation). We recently said goodbye to our beautiful 15 year old Maggie (Yorkie, as well) but prior to her passing, the Cedarview team did everything they could to make sure she was not in pain and happy until the day she left us. I can not thank them enough for being such a kind, loving, compassionate team. Brad and I now have one Yorkie and two Dobermans. We also have a Belgian Malinois on the way. If there were more stars i'd give it more. This is the most fantastic animal hospital ever. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough when examining your dog and, in the case of my dog who had a cruciate ligament tear, able to offer lots of options. My dog is eleven years old and had a tightrope repair. I was more comfortable with this less invasive surgery because of her age. She also has a heart murmur and they told me they would put in an epidural to reduce the amount of inhalation anesthetic she would need. Their approach to pain management and patient care is every bit as good as in a people hospital. Read Less

An extraordinary veterinary hospital. I have taken my cats and dogs there for many years and have always had remarkable care. Apart from the routine, I have had serious issues to deal with such as double knee surgery and rehab with a not-so-cooperative dog, a chicken bone that was swallowed when I was away on vacation requiring urgent intervention, and feline cancer. From diagnosis, to cost assessment, to treatment and sadly in one case, to euthanasia, I had nothing but professional, empathetic, non-judgmental service that provided me with the results I expected at the cost I expected. When it was time to euthanize my cat who had advanced cancer, my cat and I were treated with such grace and kindness, I was deeply, deeply moved. I typically have much happier times, but it is comforting to see how invested they are in my pets when the difficult times inevitably come. Absolutely remarkable, every single time.
