My experience at this clinic was honestly Terrible. I was referred to by a friend who attends here and decided to give them a try. I’m very particular on which vets to bring my dog into especially if it’s for a possible surgical procedure. Firstly, there was several miscommunications among staff members while booking. I was told they can squeeze my dog in for a dental scaling/polishing/ extraction procedure, so I made my way there on an already busy day and didn’t end up following through with the procedure because they were unprepared. Second, the process was very unprofessional. They answered all my questions at first so I thought wow this clinic really knows their stuff, however I was told incorrect information once I got to the office and was forced to pay a charge that was uncalled for and unfair. And when I addressed my concern, they handled it very poorly and unprofessionally. And what really struck me most, is when we asked the question why did you book us in the first place, If you guys were obviously not prepared to have us? I recall the vet trying to explain to us along the lines of that “we were desperate”. I work in an industry where customer experience should be top priority. This clinic may have the credentials to hospitalize and care for animals, but I believe positive customer experience should be effortless and I did not receive that here. Don't take your pets here! They will squeeze you for every dollar you have, and then some. I have come here just a handful of times and have yet to get a proper explanation from them about anything i'm being charged. Most recently I was quoted approx. $1000, I authorized only $700 of that and wound up being charged $1700. I freaked out at this because I would have (sadly) had to put my cat down had I of known it would be nearly double the quote. I was told that that charge was based on a failed procedure (it failed because they have NO STAFF WATCHING THE ANIMALS OVERNIGHT and they didn't know anything had happened). I was charged for them to start everything all over again because of this. I was told that the $1700 included a 3rd day stay (at a WHOPPING $300 per night - which honestly is more than most hotels), so since I was picking him up on the second day that would be removed and I wanted them to make adjustments because its their fault the catheter wasn't held in place properly and came out. I got the bill and sure enough it was $1700 which was "confirmed to be correct" when I disputed this. I was lied to multiple times, spoke to two vets who said two different things about my cat. Only one of the receptionists is an absolute gem, I cannot say the same for any of the other receptionists or vets. My cat has suffered unnecessarily for 3 days now and since I took him before they wanted to release him, he could get sick again and Ill have to put him down because I cannot afford another $1700+. So for $1700 I got poor etiquette, poor customer service, poor care for my animal, and no remorse and my cat still isn't healthy and will still potentially have to be put down. This clinic goes above and beyond your needs and expectations. As a new pet owner, I had tons of questions and concerns about my new kitten. Every staff member was more than willing to help answer my concerns. Very professional yet down to earth and understanding staff. Dr. Ferenc is incredible! He listened and addressed every concern I had, even personally placed a follow up call. I would recommend this clinic to any pet owner. Since moving to a different part of Toronto it was a bit of a drive to get my dogs to their regular Vet. After a lot of research I found Don Valley Animal Hospital. They explained my bulldogs issue in great detail to help me understand what was wrong with my dog and didn't push expensive treatments on us until we tried other methods first. The staff is wonderful to not only us but my dog as well! I would recommend this team to anyone that is looking for a vet for their fur babies. Read Less

DVAH is one of the best places to go to if your pet needs help or you need some advice regarding any aspect of your pet's life.The doctors and technicians working there have a lot of experience and always find a way to solve your pet's problems. Here is a good example of their efficiency. About 3 years ago, my dog was diagnosed with incipient melanoma. They performed surgery right away, then recommended the dog to the right specialist, who gave him the right vaccine. Due to the rapid intervention and proper care, my dog lived for 2 1/2 more years. I have been going to Don Valley Animal Hospital since they opened and have always been impressed by the service they have provided for my cats over these many years. The staff are super friendly and show that they love the animals and will go that "extra mile" to ensure they are cared for. They love the animals like they are their own. Over the years I have had to make the "final"visit a few times and the staff were so caring and kind during that time. I was not rushed and allowed to spend time with my cat to say goodbye.
