I brought my cat in for a checkup for the first time here. There were dog/s barking nonstop and she was spooked completely. The vet eventually told them to take the dog away and they did. He didn’t answer any of my questions properly if at all, since he didn’t really understand English. He gave her a couple shots to which the first one she completely jumped and freaked out. He should have told me to hold her in the first place. It’s as if they’d never had a cat in here before. It’s a shame I won’t be returning since it’s so close to home, but I guess a longer drive it worth finding a better bet for my kitty. Read Less

With massive construction (residential and communal infrastructure) in our local community, we had an insurgence of rodents in our neighbourhood.  After trapping close to 50 rats in just under two months in my yard by myself, my family and I decided to bring a cat into the family. We have never intentionally had a pet before now, although we have taken in stray cats in the past.We found a perfect fit for us with the help of the Brampton Barn Cat program.Our little champion brought us 48 rodents in the 5 months she was with us in 2017, and so far this year she has brought home 28.  Truly a hunter.On a recommendation, I took her to Dr. Wiener for a check up as we were concerned about worms (she usually eats the smaller mice she catches) and fleas.Dr. Wiener was personable and attentive.  When I inquired about worms he accepted the stool sample I brought, booked a lab analysis and sent it off.  Great.He then gave my cat a pill without any discussion and informed me that I would receive a second pill to administer in 30 days.  Dr. Wiener then applied an anti-flea/ear mite treatment to my cats upper back.  I asked why he would do this even though he had ascertained that she did not have fleas or mites, and he replied that it was 'preventative'. Upon leaving the clinic I was presented with a $265.00 bill, which would be fine, except when we look at the facts.1. $30.00 for each pill that was administered as 'preventative' without informing me of cost prior to administration and there was no evidence that she did have worms.2. $65.00 for a lab work (worms) which came back negative so the previous 'preventative' treatment wasn't even needed.3. Dr. Wiener examined his patient and determined that she did not have fleas or mites, but administered another 'preventative' treatment despite her being pest free. $45.004. The 'preventative' treatment for fleas/mites was placed incorrectly (please bear in mind we are talking about a licensed veterinarian administering the treatment incorrectly) and my cat consumed the toxic medication due to the improper administration in her kennel on the way home.5. When I called the office to report the deficiency and the consumption of the poison by my cat, I was put in touch with a nurse.  Dr. Wiener did not even have the courtesy to call me and address his mistake personally.In closing Dr. Wiener informed me that my cat would need another rabies vaccine in May of this year 2018, and that his office would call me to book the necessary treatment.  It is now June 7, 2018 and his office did not call as promised to book the necessary appointment required for the health and well being of my pet.In closing, treatments that were not required were administered, one of them improperly, and they didn't even bother to call to book the necessary follow up rabies vaccine.I do not recommend this clinic or Dr. Weiner himself.Sincerely,Michael Bauman Read Less

Dr. Weiner treats every dog that enters his doors as if they were his own. Of course that doesn't make a good vet. Its just a bonus on top.of his attention to detail and patient way of caring for is patients. On top of all that, his staff are all delightful to deal with and ok top of their game as well. I've had mixed feelings about this place. The vet seems nice enough, but I find that they over charge for everything and recommend a ton of extra procedures. My dog was on one type of medication, which the vet recommended be changed and told me it would be cheaper in the long run. It's not - I did the math and it turns out it's $50 more for the same number of pills. Want anything done? Blood work, urine samples and X-rays are all necessary. If you don't mind the fees, it's a decent enough place, but I think I'm going to look elsewhere. Read Less

Im very unhappy . my dog had a surgery with them andwhen i brougt my dog home saw blood on every single nailthey didnt ask me first if i want them to cut the nails while doing the surgery, second when i complain the doctor was so angry at meand had a very bad respond to me.i didnt go back there since they dont know how to speak to costumers Read Less

I could not imagine a more caring and knowledgeable doctor (Eldad). I have called after hours and left a message to ask if my cats problem was an emergency or if I should just bring him in the next day. He called me back within 5 minutes and helped to resolve the issue. I only wish my doctor was as good as my cat's doctor! Read Less

I'm a new puppy owner so I don't have experience with vets. I took my puppy to another clinic and the vet wanted to sell me everything under the sun, he didn't even introduce himself to me or Gladstone. We then found Upper Bathurst and the vet was awesome right from the start, no up selling, just great. My puppy loves coming here and I'm very happy with the service. Read Less

I have dealt with a few  Animal Clinics over the years. Upper Bathurst Animal Clinic is by far the best and is worth the trip. Dr.Eldad Weiner is an excellent diagnostician and it is quite obvious that he is an animal lover and a very caring professional. The level of care that my dog receives at this clinic is exemplary. We brought our dog in for grooming, and now he can't see out of one eye, although that's an improvement over not being able to see from both eyes when I first picked him up from that god awful place. I asked why he was rubbing his eyes so ferociously, they said he probably has an eye infection. He didn't have an eye infection when I dropped him off!!! If you hurt my dog, own up to it! Instead they took the cowardly route, claimed they'd call to follow up the next day and we're still waiting for that call. If you love your pet, please don't bring them here. Read Less

I switched to this clinic a couple of years ago...sure glad that I did!! Dr Wiener is amazing and I would hate to have to go anywhere else. His compassion, knowledge, and true love of animals make him my only choice. And although we all know that everyone is entitled to make a living and get paid for their services, he always manages to impress me by not ordering unnecessary testing and expensive medications unless they are really needed. He is the first to recommend natural remedies (like chamomile teabags to clean my pups eyes instead of expensive vet ointment)when they can be substituted. After reading the previous review I am shocked, however every time I have brought my cat, he has seen Dr. Eldad Weiner, not the vet mentioned in the other review. I have only great things to say about this place. Very nice staff from the assistants to the vet himself. One time I even called after hours and was directed to his personal voicemail. Within 10 min he had called me back to discus the issue. There is no charge for follow up appointments and even his regular rates are very reasonable when compared. The office is clean and he is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. Read Less

Please do not go here. The vets (or at least the one I had my appointment with) do not care about your pet at all! I was in tears after leaving the appointment and being yelled at by the vet on the phone when we were talking about how our puppy was vomiting due to the excessive amount of wet food that the vet gave him during the exam. I still am horrified that a vet could act in such manner, he never once apologized and was extremely rude.We had just gotten a new 12 week old puppy and brought him here for a wellness exam 2 days later. On the phone, the receptionist had told us we were booked with Dr. Weiner (the owner) but when we got there, our exam was with the other vet, Dr. Alexeev... we didn't really care since it was just a wellness check so we didn't bother to question that or anything. To start off with, here are a few concerns that I had during the actual exam but didn't say anything, these small things just added up and reinforced our negative impression after the main incident described further.- Near the beginning of the "wellness" exam the vet was mainly giving us a whole blueprint of the next vaccinations our puppy will be getting on our NEXT visit. First of all, we just came for a wellness check.. who said we were intending to come back here for vaccinations, etc. So it felt like he was just trying to get business...  This was nice information but the whole exam was under 15 minutes, and over half of it was just trying to sell us stuff. - He had mentioned Revolution for our puppy and suggested we get it, we hadn't confirmed anything yet.. although we probably would have gotten it. We moved on to other general inquiries, then he began opening the Revolution and only then asked if he could administer it... it had already been opened from the seal so we didn't really have a choice. I'm not sure why he didn't ask if we wanted it before he assumed and decided to just go ahead and put it on our puppy.- He was going to give our puppy canned wet food to "try" out. He brought a bowl and put a HUGE amount of wet food, and continued to put more and my puppy was eating it extremely quickly. We questioned what the serving size was and commented that it seemed like A LOT OF FOOD.. he just ignored us and went on to put another HUGE spoon in the bowl. - When paying for the final bill, they had included TWO CANS of the wet food... during the exam the vet said he can give it to us to try out, he never indicated it was going to be added to our bill.. This is just an extremely shady business tactic. We never said we wanted to buy the food and they just added it to our bill?So whatever, we leave the vet with a below average impression but would possibly consider returning for a general checkup since they are literally less than 5 minutes away from us and convenient.That is..  UNTIL OUR PUPPY VOMITED ALL THE WET FOOD LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AFTER WE LEFT THE VET. We phoned them and the receptionist was being nice, and the vet was busy and phoned us back later. He did not APOLOGIZE once and didn't even act like it was his fault! We felt so scammed having paid over $160 for a "wellness" check only to have them make our little puppy UNWELL. The vet was yelling at us on the phone saying things like "oh what do you want what do you want" and  "you are getting absolutely no refund, oh you returned the food? no compensation what so ever, you can complain to the organization", etc. I have NO IDEA why he was so pissed off and angry at us when we were so upset over our puppy having to go through this when we only came for a simple wellness check.. he didn't even care.Our puppy vomited even more like 20 minutes later... he basically vomited ALL the wet food that was given to him...  The vomiting was one thing, but being treated so rudely by the vet was just disgusting and the worst customer service I have experienced in my whole life. Me and my family were in tears and will NEVER return here... please do not waste your money and do not come here if you love and care about your pet.
