This review should be very long because of the service that Doctor Sarah Slater gives but I will try and keep it short. Dr Slater has been giving us excellent service for our two dogs for over 3 years now. Her level of service should be the standard for all vets. When a pet is ill you will do anything to make them better. Some vets take advantage of this with unnecessary tests and high charges. Dr Slaters prices are reasonable and she has never done any work that doesn't need to be done. Our dogs will be going to Rideau River Animal Hospital for years to come. Read Less

Dr. Slater and her team are probably the best in Ottawa! I've had many experiences in the past with vets who seem like they try to play on your emotions and suggest products or treatments that aren't necessarily required. Not only does this make you feel like a bad pet parent, but it can get very expensive as well. Dr. Slater is the opposite of that. Her team is helpful and kind, and they always give you options as well as genuine, honest advice. I appreciate their honesty and care for my two cats. They are always able to see us promptly in emergencies (UTI's and crystals) and have been extremely helpful for the less pressing diagnoses (cat acne LOL!) I've recommended Rideau River Animal Hospital in the past to several of my friends and I would continue to recommend them in the future. Read Less

Having a much loved fur baby with severe allergies that have, at times, proven to be life threatening, would be all the more stressful without the compassionate and competent care of Dr. Sarah Slater and her team (Mike and Jamie). I can't stress enough how comforting it is to have them care for my little guy. I'm incredibly picky but Sarah and her staff are top notch. I wouldn't trust anyone more and I send everyone to her. She's honest and straight forward. Not pushy at all.
