I have nothing but positives to say about the veterinarians at this location, however there is a young girl who works as a secretary there who I always get bad vibes from. My recent experience with PAH was very frustrating and disheartening. I brought in our beloved 16 year old cat who passed peacefully at home, because our 9 year old was away visiting grandparents we requested cremation with return of ashes so she could have some closure on her return. The woman who helped me when I dropped him off was lovely and compassionate. She told me it should take about 3 days or so. After 5 days I called to check up and was told he wasn't ready yet and I'd get a call. After an additional 5 days I called again, this time I felt somewhat brushed off and was just told that if I hadn't been called he wasn't ready and I should wait for a call. That was August 17th. I was out of town Aug 25th to Sept 5th and no call was received. I called September 7th and was advised that the person running the cremation centre was in an accident and the new person would check on him and call me. On September 9th I went into the hospital in person and asked for a manager to speak with, after explaining the situation, the lovely young woman at reception went into the back and came out with my cat's remains and an envelope. She explained that they had taken my phone number incorrectly so when they tried to call me they got a wrong number. I was very appreciative of her help but still wanted to speak to someone, however the manager was on a call so she took my number correctly and agreed to have someone call me. When I got home and opened the envelope I received, the certificate stated my cat had been cremated August 20th, so he had been ready to come home for two weeks at that point. I called again on September 13th and was advised the manager had left early for personal reasons and they would leave a note for her to call me. At this time, I have yet to speak to anyone other than the reception desk at PAH and I am very sad and frustrated. My daughter is struggling with the loss of her lifelong pet and not even having his remains in our possession when she returned home was difficult. We paid a substantial fee for this service and feel like this experience only added to the grief and frustration of our loss.Read Less

I had a positive experience with pembroke animal Hospital but this last experience turned me right off. I had an emergency with my rabbit. After calling them to try to get him in asap, the vet was on break and I was told I would get a call back. After 2 hours of waiting I did not receive a call back so I called them. I was then told that "oh ya the vet got back to me and she can't see him until Monday". After calling every possible animal Hospital from deep river to arnprior and finding out Ottawa was my only option. I called pembroke back begging to get him seen or at least give me some pain meds, only to be told no sorry. I even told them I would pay for an emergency visit, still no. So I took him to Bells Corner Animal Hospital (amazing place!) where we found out he was in horrible amounts of pain and had to be put down :( I called pembroke animal Hospital to cancel my appointment for Monday and after telling them I needed to cancel my appointment because i had to put my rabbit down, they said "ok thanks for calling", not even an "I'm sorry". I found that very insensitive. A part of my family died and I felt that was very unprofessional. Very unhappy with this whole interaction. It's disappointing.Read Less

Outstanding!  When it came to switching vets at Misty's late stage in life,  We had nothing but great service.  He lived for another two months (he was 19 years of age).  Jo-Anne and Dr M. Davies (plus Dr Paquette who was thorough beforehand).  It was not easy indeed) and yet it was fast at the end and was personal. Highly recommended!  :) Read Less
