We travel back and forth to Costa Rica each year, so we require knowledgeable staff on vaccines and preparation of paper work to another country. The staff at Champlain Animal Hospital are very organized and caring to our 2 small chihuahuas. We know that our furry children are always in good hands when we visit there. One of the best vets in the area! After dealing with another very difficult vet in ptbo it was like a breath of fresh air to switch to Champlain lol. A strange series of events brought me to the Champlain Animal Hospital, and I am so glad they did. I spotted an Osprey on the side of the road that appeared wounded and stunned. The Champlain Hospital team took in the bird immediately, locating a hook the fledgling had caught in his gizzard. They transported the bird to Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary until, as great fortunate would have it, the Osprey up-chucked the hook. Dr. Hope and Dr. Fortune took every effort to track down the Osprey nest, given the coordinates I had provided of where I had found the bird. Not only did they find the nest, they waited until the parents heard and came to meet the fledgling. Incredible care and dedication to the preservation of wildlife. Read Less

We took our new Cocker Spaniel puppy 'Diesel' to Champlain today after a friends recommendation - from the minute we entered the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Recently my 14yr old cat Jinx took a bad turn and we needed a vet in a hurry. We called Champlain and even though they were booked solid they told us to come in since I was so concerned. We got there and it turned out to be the worst news, My little man Jinx was in kidney failure and the kindest thing to do was end his pain. The kindness and empathy I was shown for us both was overwhelmingly touching and meant the world to us. I would recommend them(and have done already) with 10 out of 5 stars in my chart. We have been taking our fur babies to Champlain for at least 15 years. Every vet, tech and staff member have always treated us in a professional and friendly manner. Sadly we have had to say good bye to our dog and one of our cats. Again the staff came through and supported us in our grief. Currently my old girls are both battling kidney failure. It's been tough to find food they will eat and get their medications in. Tammy and Dr Noble have been very helpful and patient with us. We know that the girls are in good hands.Read Less

in the middle of a big move, my cat became severely stressed & overheated. we were right down the road from here and walked in with no forewarning & were taken care of promptly and compassionately. it's difficult to overstate how much of a relief it was that we found ourselves in a place where the entire staff was patient, competent, and kind. not only did the doctor give him medication, he gave me an extra blanket to make sure my kitty could be as comfortable as possible. he was genuinely invested in the wellness of the cat and assuaged all of my anxiety with plenty of answers and info. the rest of the drive went off without a stitch, even when we inevitably got stuck in rush hour traffic. they absolutely delivered me from crisis and i couldn't be more grateful!! Champlain's is a very caring place to take your pets. The care and compassion shown to our dog Hank over the last 11.5 years and especially the last two while he battled cancer was over and beyond and we are truly thankful for Dr.Noble and rest of staff (Jane you were always able to accommodate us when needed in a rush thank you). Hank's passing has been extremely hard on me but I know all was done to make his quality of life better in the end. Read Less
