I was welcomed here with my kitten and the vet was awesome. Everyone I met at my appointment were friendly and helpful.The vet even called me and asked for me to come back after she found the my baby had ear mites. Now after just one treatment she isn't even scratching.

My experience with this hospital was about 5years ago... I took my dog, hooded rats and cats there.. and i had to unfortunately put my baby(dog) down... He had been there before and the staff was gre...
My experience with this hospital was about 5years ago... I took my dog, hooded rats and cats there.. and i had to unfortunately put my baby(dog) down... He had been there before and the staff was great with him!! When it came time to put him down... The staff let me stay with my baby from beginning to the end and let me stay with my boy until I was ready to leave...they didn't rush me or anything... I'm not sure how long I was in the room for but they were extremely patient with the loss I just had...when the staff had called me to pick up his ashes they gave me a note and it there they had gotten his paw prints for me... The staff there were very sweet and compassionate. Thank you

Out of respect for our dog Rosie, who has just passed, our family decided to write this. She is a golden retriever who started loosing weight a couple of years ago. I expressed alarm to vets at this clinic, and was told to be more vigilant feeding her. Was actually told, "it is not very often we have to tell pet owners to feed their dogs more." So, I started pushing dog foods and calories to my two adult goldens. We deal with a different clinic now, and our new and trusted veteranarian quickly diagnosed our too thin retriever with an abdominal tumor the size of a baseball, no doubt explaining the weight loss. And our second dog with being very overweight from overfeeding. Rosie died a few short months after her proper diagnosis and palliative. Please consider all possible causes before laying blame on pet owners.

Our experience today at Pickering Animal Hospital was completely unacceptable to say the least. Take our 8 year old dog in this morning due to sudden health concerns. They insist on x-rays and of course we want our dog to get better so off they take him for half an hour. Come back with a response of "I don't know exactly what it is but here are a few possibilities" and off we are sent with the x-rays and some water pills.
Not even two hours later our dog sadly passes away, we contact the vet and bring him in to confirm that he has indeed passed, now of course considering the shock my family is currently in, maybe don't start asking for money to bury him when we just gave you all we had for x-rays with no answer. No compassion and no empathy.
We took our dog home and called the city, the lady who came was wonderful, talking to us as a human would and showed us sympathy and treated our dog as her own.
Pickering Animal Hospital please learn that not everything is about money immediately. I get that you are a business and need to make your money but maybe offer some options to people who aren't as financially secure as some, and sometimes compassion goes a long way.

Although she was extremely busy when we brought our little Frenchie in to diagnose her extreme distress, Dr. Melissa's level of care was exemplary. She not only put our dog at ease but also put us at ease with her thorough overview of our dog's condition and her calm and positive demeanor. My little "Sophie" was attacked by another dog a month ago! Horrific experience for both her and I to say the least! I cannot say enough about ALL the staff at Pickering Animal Hospital. Taking a very serious situation and daily attending to Sophie in the most kind, considerate, compassionate and professional way. Following up with phone calls and always taking the time for extra care and understanding! Sophie is recovering and we are on the mend. I thank the staff from the bottom of my heart. I find the staff at PAH so very kind and really care about our fur babies, I have been taking my dog Tommy their for years now for his annual checkups and the staff are very helpful, just recently my dog had an injury thinking he would not really walk very well again, thought he had a spine injury and had a bladder infection which was treated for, almost had to have surgery but you never know the out come of a surgery, hard decision to make, we first tried all his medicine and kept going back to have the Dr. Relieve his bladder as he couldn't go on his own, his bowels where also loose, this went on for a couple of weeks, than finally Tommy started to perk up which made us all happy and the staff were so delighted to see a slow but amazing recovery, we are still making sure Tommy takes it easy as we don't want a set back, So once again we thank you Melissa, Susan, Michelle and the young gentleman who wiped up after Tommy,

I brought my Guinea pig years ago to see Dr. McMillen and was thoroughly impressed then. Today I brought my new kitty in and by far the best service and attention I have ever received in a vet clinic. The staff are friendly, greets both animal and people. Such a welcoming environment. The vet has done follow up calls to our house, asking how my pets were responding to their meds and even answered my questions (we had at least a 10 minute conversation) on the phone!!

My little "Sophie" was attacked by another dog a month ago! Horrific experience for both her and I to say the least! I cannot say enough about ALL the staff at Pickering Animal Hospital. Taking a very serious situation and daily attending to Sophie in the most kind, considerate, compassionate and professional way. Following up with phone calls and always taking the time for extra care and understanding! Sophie is recovering and we are on the mend. I thank the staff from the bottom of my heart. I find the staff at PAH so very kind and really care about our fur babies, I have been taking my dog Tommy their for years now for his annual checkups and the staff are very helpful, just recently my dog had an injury thinking he would not really walk very well again, thought he had a spine injury and had a bladder infection which was treated for, almost had to have surgery but you never know the out come of a surgery, hard decision to make, we first tried all his medicine and kept going back to have the Dr. Relieve his bladder as he couldn't go on his own, his bowels where also loose, this went on for a couple of weeks, than finally Tommy started to perk up which made us all happy and the staff were so delighted to see a slow but amazing recovery, we are still making sure Tommy takes it easy as we don't want a set back, So once again we thank you Melissa, Susan, Michelle and the young gentleman who wiped up after Tommy,

We have taken all our pets to the amazing Dr. MacMillan and the group of wonderful people at PAH over many years and have never been disappointed. I genuinely feel that the staff there care about our furry children as if they were their own. And treated us with kindness, compassion and understanding at every step; good and bad. Thank you all. I always recommend them.

Today I brought my new kitty in and by far the best service and attention I have ever received in a vet clinic. The staff are friendly, greets both animal and people. Such a welcoming environment. Dr. McMillen is always so honest and caring towards the pets! I'm glad to have found such an amazing clinic and vet!! Thanks guys!! :)

I just got a puppy and was calling around to decide which vet to take her to and all the others got back to me either the same day or within 24h. When choosing a vet I look for someone who is going to be there for me and my pet if an emergency is to happen and PAH made it clear that they won't be

I have used PAH for many years now and the staff have been wonderful always. They are reliable and honest and are understanding of quality of life for animals, not simply just sustaining life. I have relied on them for my pets from small birds, small animals (rats,rabbits, guineapigs) to my cats and dogs. They are the best!

Have taken all my pets here since the 1990s. If you think of your pets like your own children, the doctors/nurses here are like pediatricians.
The vet has done follow up calls to our house, asking how my pets were responding to their meds and even answered my questions (we had at least a 10 minute conversation) on the phone!!
