Do you view your pet as a family member?Do you like to have an honest, open rapport with your vet?More importantly, do you want your pet to establish a relationship with his or her care provider? If so, then Whites Road Animal Hospital delivers all this and more, without pushing for unnecessary treatments or tests. We have been going to Whites Road for over 10 years. Their care and support of our dogs has been constant. Dr. Donovan looked after Lizzie, our hound, until she passed last September. His compassion and care, and that of the entire staff, really helped us through that time. They have been very supportive of caring for our GSD, Kiara, who has intense fears of clinics (fostered before we discovered Whites Road). Dr. Donovan has taken numerous courses in behaviour management, and his advice and treatment of Kiara has been outstanding. Now, our new baby hound is enjoying the same quality of care!To those of you who felt that you were passed around from vet to vet, then just request a single vet when you make your appointment. The attentive and compassionate staff has always gone out of their way to ensure this, if you request it.I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else! Read Less

We've been going to this vet for over a year and i really don't know how we lasted that long. To begin, the reception were extremely rude and condescending. They were also very unforgiving especially about lates. Booking future appointments with them was so uncomfortable and we really felt as though we weren't welcome. I really honestly don't think that their reception staff had ever once smiled at us. Their prices were ridiculously high, to give an idea, after an appointment, we asked if we could get our puppy's nails trimmed. Not a great first impression. I recently adopted a puppy and was calling around to determine what vet to take her to and here's why she won't be going to White's rd Animal Hospital; untrained front desk staff, and lack of attention to animal welfare. Iv'e provided a long explanation of my experience below for those who don't mind a bit of reading. First of all, when I asked about their spay procedure instead of putting everything together they've broken up the different costs so that you think they're the cheaper option when really they cost twice as much. Furthermore, they mentioned that a lot of necessary items are option for the surgery. For example, blood work, IV, and post op meds were all optional but if you don't get those you are seriously endangering your pets life. Blood work is necessary to make sure that your pet is healthy enough for a procedure and to determine how they will respond to the anesthesia. And, just like with us, before a surgery your pet has to fast and can't drink anything the night before, so not putting them on IV fluids is down right cruel, and finding a vein in a dog is not the easiest thing, so having an IV already in place can be the difference between life and death if something goes wrong during the surgery. Finally, the person I was speaking to did not have any of the basic information that I was asking for and after being put on hold twice she needed someone explaining it to her which she then repeated to me, instead of just transferring me to that person. It was very frustrating having to wait for her to ask the other woman for each question and hearing her voice in the background adding on tidbits that the woman on the phone forgot to say. I understand everyone needs to learn but, in my opinion, you should train your employees before you have them answering your phones. Read Less
