Been coming here since my cat was 2 months old. She is now a healthy 3 years old in perfect health. From the start of the journey they offered a lot of helpful advice on a multitude of topics and continue to take great care of my cat whenever we visit. As we all know vet can be very expensive when it come to diagnosis or treat our animals. The staff here is simply amazing! Caring and sensitive toward both the dogs and owners. Our 10 years old Sheppard Rottweiler as been sick for the last 2 weeks and we spend a lot of money trying to find what was wrong with her. Struggling to find what causes our dog megasophagus we were scared to had to put her down because we simply don't have enough money to keep testing and treating. They completely understood our position and manage to find solutions and advise us honestly. Bayview Hill Hospital never made us feel like they were only in for the money, they are dog owners like us and thrive to take care of your animal and make you feel like they are doing everything to help you out. If I could have given more than 5 stars I would have. I adopted a rescue cat who was very ill when i got her. I chose Bayview Hill Animal Hospital because they were close to where I lived and I did not have a vet already at that time. I cannot say enough about a clinic that identified my cat Callie's problems immediately, treated her immediately and saved her life. That was 5 years ago, and my cat is still to date, healthy and happy, and a joy in my life. The doctors are excellent, knowledgeable and skilled. The office staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. I would never take my cat to anybody else, and I know when i take her there she will get the best treatment by people who care. Read Less

In my many years as a pet owner and farmer, I have been to many vets and clinics with my animals. This clinic and it's staff are wonderful. Well informed, respectful to myself and my pet, caring and gentle. Time was taken to fully explain tests and treatment recommended and the willingness to collaborate with me on the course of treatment is much appreciated. My cat hadn't been to a vet in many years and I expected him to be agitated. The style and demeanor of all staff that handled him was so calm and gentle. They also prepared for his arrival to the exam room with spraying the pheremone Feliway, and it works!! He was so relaxed. I would easily recommend Dr. Sherkey and his team at Bayview Hill. I took my cat Sassy in yesterday because I had to put her down. On the way into the hospital I met Dr. Sherkey and he tried to convince me to try other options even though I knew my cat was in distress and 17 1/2 years old. I asked him many times to stop trying to upsell because I had made up my mind but he continued until I finally broke into tears and told him again to stop which he finally did. I then met Dr Krayz who was going to put Sassy to sleep. She also tried to upsell saying they had to give me all the options and defending the clinic. I already knew what had to be done therefore both vets were wrong to keep pushing me to spend more money on my cat who I knew was in distress. After many moments of me asking Dr. Krayz to take care of Sassy instead of constant talking about the clinic and options she finally stopped talking about the clinic. That's not the worst of it. I had told Dr. Krayz that when I had tried to give my cat her medication the night before she screamed in pain. After giving my cat a morphine shot she took her into another room to put in an IV. I suddenly heard my cat scream in pain twice. I opened the door and told them to stop whatever they did to put her in pain and they proceeded to do it once more and she again screamed in pain. I demanded they stop. Dr. Krayz then told me she would give Sassy more morphine which I said OK. They were able to then bring my cat back into the room I was in at which point the Dr. decided to start defending herself telling me she had been trying to bring Sassy back into me when she screamed 3 times in pain. I can maybe excuse trying to move her once but when she is in such extreme pain YOU DONT KEEP DOING WHATEVER YOU HAD BEEN DOING Dr. Krayz moved her again when she was back in the room and she whimpered in pain. I asked Dr. Krayz to give my cat the needle to put her out of her pain. I had to ask more than once and finally I had to get even more angry and demanded that she put Sassy out of her pain now. The vet finally gave Sassy the needle but the vet kept talking trying to defend herself about putting my cat in extreme pain and I again asked her to stop talking so I could tell my cat how much I loved her and how sorry I was that instead of drying with dignity and peacefully she died in extreme pain because Dr. Krayz wouldn't listen to me. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone and I will never go back because of the way my cat and I were treated in a way that was both disrespectful and condescending. My cat was not in extreme pain when I took her into the clinic because I was very careful about moving her but she was in extreme pain when she died that should not have happened.Read Less

The staff here is very friendly and did/does everything they can to help with my pet! I was really impressed with how much they cared and how amazing they werw with my cat! :) I only have 2 concerns/complaints: 1. The wait times were awful. Two days in a row we had to wait 30+ minutes just to see the dr. The first day we were there for over an hour and a half and the second day we were there for over two hours. I appreciated all the help being given but my cat was extremely stressed this whole time and as a pet owner it was really hard seeing her go through that. Between the tests and waiting time I was not very impressed. 2. No one properly explained the drugs prescribed for my cat or how to administer them. At the billing time the vet assistant just came and asked if I knew about how to administer or if I knew what one if the two drugs were. When I said no and I'm just really flustered right now she was like it says on the container what to do read it when you get home. I appreciate her concerns there but otherwise no one told me about which drug was which or what to do with it. Overall, besides my two "issues" I would have to say that I would definitely recommend this veterinary hospital. The staff do seem to care but there are still some things that need to be worked out there. Read Less

I am always happy with my Bayley's grooming. If I am not completely satisfied then the groomer will fix it. The staff here are so so friendly and I just recently had my Bayley stay overnight and felt so safe doing so!!! Thank you staff for all your great work !! Read Less

This is definitely the best animal hospital in Toronto. The staffs are so professional and kind. They are the nicest persons with your pets. I took my kitten for neutering and the procedure was unbelievable. They told me when I come pick him up he will be in the exact same condition as I dropped him off. I was surprised when I got home he was eating playing as nothing happened. And NO CONE! Im telling you, your pets feel like home in this clinic they are so lovely with them. I have been going to Bayview since my Yorkie was a puppy (she's 10 now!). Dr Sherkey has always taken the best care of me. I recently found an even greater appreciation when I moved to the states and had to find a new vet. The process was nerve racking and impossible and to be honest I have still not found a vet I can fully trust. Dr Sherkie has come to the rescue!! He always answers my long distance phone calls and gives me excellent advice on my dogs health (she has epilepsy) It is never comfortable when you have a sick animal and you are faced with either spending enormous amounts of $$ on tests that could show you nothing or taking the risk of not finding something that could harm your animal. Dr Sherkie educates you so you can make the decision with confidence and doesn't try to push you one way or another. He truly treats your pet as if it is his own. On my last visit home to Canada Dr Sherkies daughter Dr Rebecca Sherkie went above and beyond and made special accommodations to clean my Yorkies teeth in the short window I was home. (She came back early from Vacation THANK YOU Dr Rebecca) Bottom line if you want a vet that is going to treat you like family but still give it to you straight BayView is your top choice. Dr. Rebecca Sherkey is amazing! We went to several vets before her and they were unable to find the reason and cure for our older dog's skin condition, which was really upsetting because we wanted him to get better and be comfortable. She is friendly, knowledgeable and answers all of our questions with a smile. Our dog is now two weeks into his treatment and his symptoms have improved by 85% already. She also understands that we don't want to drug him up with meds and we prefer a holistic approach. She is aware that people can't afford to pay thousands each visit. Very reasonable with pricing. When our very geriatric cat stopped eating and was looking more lethargic than usual, we brought her in to see Dr Rebecca Sherkey. It was a very difficult few days, as we sensed the end was near. Needless to say, Dr Sherkey was amazingly compassionate, knowledgable and sensitive. She explained all the options that were available to us, prognosis, what to expect and the pros/cons of each recommended test. Her warmth really helped us through the process and we never felt pushed to do anything we didn't think was right for our family cat. My Kitten had a freak accident and fell between the bars of my railing. She wasn't acting or walking correctly. My mother referred me to Dr. Sherkey and I called and made an appointment. During the first appointment Dr. Sherkey was compassionate not only to my kitten but to me. He never made me feel pressure to do any procedures and was considerate that I was in a very emotional state. We took it step by step and explained the options I had. My gut told me this was more than a dislocation of the hip and only x rays could tell that. Dr. Sherkey looked up each and everything I might need and gave me the cost so I could make the correct judgment on what I could afford and there would be NO surprises. He also took the time to explain the possible side effects if we didn't look into it. I left my kitten there for a few hours so they could make her comfortable and find out what happen. It was the worst situation. My kitten broke her ball joint in her hip and shared the x ray with me. Dr. Sherkey gave me options to go with someone he uses regularly that wasn't board certified and was in the process of writing his board certifications and cost a lot less or with someone that is board certified to do the reconstructive surgery my kitten needed to fix her joint.It is 6 weeks later and my kitten has turned a year and is running around with her sister and brother and you see no signs that she had her ball joint removed and fixed. She can still make the jumps she did before the accident and I can't thank Dr. Sherkey and his staff for their support. Any time I had a concern they told me to bring her in and never charged me for any of the follow up appointment.  I would recommend this clinic just based on the fact there is no hinted costs and they are very upfront and made me feel I could make the decisions and gave me the tools and choices to do so.Thank you Read Less

We are extremely disappointed with the treatment our dog received, we feel that Dr. Sherkey manipulated us into spending money when he very well knew that our dog was not well, he suggested that we buy medication and do all sorts of examinations when he very well knew that our dog was on his last leg, now that our beloved dog has passed we want everyone to know that this doctor is very dishonest and you should think twice before you bring your pet there for treatment, it is a shame that a medical professional would conduct his business in such a matter where money is a priority and the health of your pet is jeopardized. Please be very cautious when dealing with Bayview Hill Animal Clinic, and with extreme disappointment and grief we want to thank you for nothing Dr. Sherkey your dishonesty has created a sad ending for both our dog and our family.Read Less

I've taken my dog there twice, both times horrible experiences. First time was an emergency situation where my dog had weird marks on his skin. The vet said it was ringworm and prescribed me a cream and a pill... First of all, they were labelled incorrectly and if I weren't so clever I would have ended up feeding my dog the cream and rubbing his body with a pill.. The meds made my dog VERY sick, and the vet advised me not to stop or change the dosage amount.... After 5 days I was informed that it wasn't ringworm after all... How was this misdiagnosed? I  made my dog sick for nothing and that seriously broke my heart. I (stupidly) returned once more when my groomer was closed but I needed to get my dogs nails done. The nail cutting took nearly 45 minutes and my dog came out shaking and whimpering !?!??!??  His nails had been cut to the quick and a couple of the nails were split upwards toward his paw (he's still recovering from this now) my dog has always been VERY good about me playing with/ rubbing his paws, he now squeals and growls if I try to even just touch his paw.  I've never seen such sloppy awful work and such a lack of ownership. The whole situation was dealt with so poorly and very unprofessionally.As a dog owner who adores my pet, I'm left feeling guilty and sad that I put my beloved animal through that traumatizing experience. More importantly, you took care of our dog Scruffles even sweeter! We came to your hospital with a fairly large growth on his paw and no idea what to do. You gently explained the procedure and discussed our options. We have grown to know you and we feel we can trust you, your staff and your team of veterinarians 101%.
