We got our first puppy ever in 2006. An adorable Yorkie-Poo, Charlie was easy to fall in love with. We wanted the best care for him so I went to several veterinarian offices to try to determine who would be best to care for Charlie. I got a sense of the environment by talking to staff and observing the presentation of the waiting area and overall cleanliness. The last question I asked the staff was why should I bring Charlie to this office. Canyon Hill Animal Hospital won me over when the answer was Because of Dr. Ang hes the best in the business gentle, knowledgeable and trustworthy. I was sold. We stayed with Dr. Ang and his team even after we moved to Newmarket. I am so glad we did.
Charlie saw Dr. Ang every year normal tests, shots, the odd illness. He always took good care of him. He was thorough but not wasteful. Always gave me all the options; never pressured me to spend money that didnt need to be spent I always felt confident in my decisions. Late October, 2014, Charlie became ill. He was lethargic and developed some odd rash on his belly and had a couple of lumps on his body. We called Dr. Angs office, explained the situation and they got us in the same day. We were in and out of the office several times over the course of the next six weeks. Charlie had several symptoms that did not seem to be related. However, during that first consultation, I asked if there was any possibility that we were dealing with the Big C here and he gently told me lets take it a step at a time; theres always that possibility but lets eliminate the obvious first. He completed the bloodwork, xrays, etc and we took him home. To condense the six week story, Ill eliminate every detail but tell you this there is no one I would have wanted to treat Charlie but Dr. Ang. After completing some biopsies, he confirmed that Charlie had hemangiosarcoma and there was no cure. We were heartbroken. Dr. Ang recommended an excellent oncologist to review our options. Although there was no cure, we were able to minimize Charlies pain and discomfort.
Pet owners understand the love we have for our pets so you will also understand this we knew that at some point we would have to let Charlie go to sleep. I wanted someone to conduct this act with respect and also support me and my family during the process. Of course, we asked Dr. Ang to do this for Charlie. He was amazing. I cannot begin to explain what a difference he made. Although the saddest day in our lives, we were thankful Dr. Ang was able to make himself available the day it finally had to be done.
Dr. Ang and his team are incredible. If you are looking for a veterinarian, I cant think of one reason why you wouldnt choose Canyon Hill Animal Hospital but can think of dozens of reasons why you should!
Thank you Dr. Ang and team, for all your sincere and knowledgeable support. We are forever grateful.
