Hartzel has been my vet for years. Cats and Dogs, they always have the right staff to make them calm and take care of them. I've been taking my family pets here for as long as I can remember. The staff are all terrific and Dr. Hobbs is the best! They aren't pushy with medication and will let you decide which treatments/ vaccinations your pet gets. I find that very important because some vets will just push a certain regiment on you and it can get very expensive (and possibly bad for your pet). We had to put down our old dog a few years ago and they were even kind enough to hold off our payment for a couple weeks to give us a chance to grieve. The location is beautifully renovated, the staff are very friendly and professional, and they'll always go above and beyond to make your pet feel safe! My dog was diagnosed with a life threatening disease quickly and was treated with kindness and the best care. Ever since I first came to this animal hospital I have been in awe at how professional, loving, caring and knowledgeable the staff is. They always have smiles and interact with my dogs like they are their own. My dogs are always looked after and I never leave there feeling like I wasn't given full attention or like I'm just a customer. I have dealt with Hartzel Animal Hospital for over 40 years & would not hesitate to recommend them. All their employees are compassionate people. Dr. Jen in particular was amazing while treating our beloved Dog Tessa, seeing us through some very difficult decisions & also explaining the procedures she was hoping would help cure her. In the end she even sat with us as Tessa slipped away on a blanket with my devastated Grandson by her side. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Jen felt the same sadness that we were experiencing and she supported our decisions regarding Tessa's care. I am grateful for her expertise & gentle care. The staff are all amazing, patient and understanding. I had no doubts leaving Riley knowing they would do their very best during surgery. He isn't the easiest boy and the tech (Crystal) after sugery did everything she could to make him comfortable. Then the next day they had no problem squeezing me in for some help and advice.
