DO NOT GO TO SOUTH SARNIA VET IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS AND EXPECT THEM TO HELP IN EMERGENCIES. We have been a client with South Sarnia Vet for over 7 years, never had any issues until yesterday. Yesterday I woke up to our 3 yr old male cat laying on the ground very lethargic whining/moaning. We immediately packed him in the car and rushed over to the clinic and waited in the parking lot for when they opened hoping they could at least check him out real quick, and let us know that hopefully we were just over exaggerating and he'd be ok. Once the clinic opened my husband rushed in and explained to the woman at the counter that we had our cat in the car and that we were concerned that he was dying, to which she replied they had absolutely no room to see him until 3pm (this was 9AM). I then spent the next hour calling every vet within a 150km radius. Bright's Grove Animal Hospital agreed to take him in right away so we rushed him there. Our Cat was then rushed for XRAY and we were notified that there was a blockage and a catheter would need to be placed in to see if major surgery could be avoided, as this is an EMERGENCY for male cats. Our beloved 3 yr cat crashed just before 3pm and was unable to be revived. I truly believe the amazing vet at Bright's Grove did everything she could with the time she had, South Sarnia Vet didn't even bother to look at him, didn't advise us where to take him, nothing. Upon cancelling my 3pm appointment with the vet, who we've been clients with for years, the secretary had the audacity to imply that my cat MUST be doing better now since we were cancelling..... I will absolutely never use this Vet again and If you care about your fur family I wouldn't suggest you use them either. This whole situation could've been dealt with differently, and maybe with a little compassion (just a little). Read Less

We picked up our dog from the Humane Society who covered the cost of spaying her at any local vet. Called South Sarnia Vets as it is close and was told $24 for pain meds, $25 for a cone (both mandatory fees), IV fluids $75 and bloodwork (which the humane society did less than a week ago) was $90, both strongly recommended. Total $214. Sarnia Animal Hospital said make sure she was used to us before bringing her in as it was less stressful for her and when we asked about additional costs said 'no of course not, that's all covered".
