We moved to Sarnia in May 2016 and we have used this veterinary office for the following services, dental cleaning, regular physicals, immunizations, conductivities, and nail trimming. We have been taking our two dogs Sadie and Bella and our cat Marley here for 4 years now. Jeff is an absolutely amazing vet and always goes above and beyond to fulfill the needs of our babies. In February my husband and I found ourselves at a bit of a loss. Our Saint Bernard had stopped eating and was producing excessive saliva and regurgitating the little food she did eat. We were unsure what was wrong and immediately went to Jeff for help. He ran tests and tried to find ou...t what was wrong. Turns out she had a baseball size paper towel stuck in her esophagus that was blocking most of her food from going down. A couple days later she regurgitated this ball up and we thought all was well again as she was eating and starting to act like herself. On Feb 13, we were up in bed and we heard a noise on the stairs and could hear a whimper, our Sadie girl was laying half way up the stairs on her stomach stuck. She had fallen up the stairs this lead her to have very weak back legs and was unable to walk. We brought her in to see Jeff to find out what was wrong, he did an X-ray and turns out she has full hip dysplasia in her one hip. We were prescribed pain meds and anti-inflammatory for her to help. Dr Jeff suggested us to go see another vet in Sarnia who specializes in rehabilitation. Jeff did everything possible he could to help us find out what was wrong with our girl and help get her back healthy. She now is back to herself, eating and is now able to go for walks! I can't say enough good things about the vets at The Rapids. We ended up with an emergency situation on Christmas Eve night with our little Shorkie dog being picked up and shaken by the foster dog we had in our care. Dr. Knight called us and met us at the office at 10:00 pm and ended up she needed surgery which happened until 1:00 am on Christmas morning. I am so thankful for the amazing kind and compassionate care that we received that night and continue to receive with follow up visits and calls to make sure she's ok. I can't believe there are negative reviews on the Rapids Veterinary.I have been to many vets with various animals over the years and Dr Iacobelli is by far the the best.I recently moved to Sarnia and have an aging dog.I am so lucky to have found Dr Iacobelli. The care given my cat, Spencer was outstanding. He was a very sick boy and the measures taken to make him better were very much appreciated. Dr. Knight was working alone on the Monday when I took him in. She had 4 emergencies as well as regular appointments. She took the time to call and explain what was happening with him. She kept me updated every day after that until Dr Iacobelli took over while she had time off. He also called daily with updates to keep me informed of treatment and progress. They gave me an examination room to visit and spend time with Spencer. Spencer was the only patient there this past Thanksgiving weekend and Dr. Geoff Iacobelli went in to look after him several times a day. Sarnia is very lucky to have Drs. I love The Rapids Veterinary Hospital, anytime we have ever had an issue you guys have always been prompt & helpful, and gone above and beyond. When my cat Arizona got fixed and I noticed a bubble in her sutures, I was squeezed in the next day, 2 days later when she ripped her stitches open, I was fit in the SAME day, and she spent the night there and was re-stitched the following day. When my dog Deke swallowed a chicken wing bone whole in the 2 seconds it took for it to fall off my plate at 6pm on a Sunday, your emergency vet answered my phone call immediately and guided me with what I should look for & do for him. The Rapids have taken care of 5 of our pets. Our pets have received genuinely caring and compassionate treatment each and every time they have visited. It is easy to see that Dr. Knight and Dr. Iacobelli have an absolute passion for their chosen careers. Our newest pets, 2 chihuahuas (who are nervous little guys) receive the best care. Extra time is given to them to make any trip to the vet a positive experience including an after hours emergency visit. The Vets ,assistants and office staff provide us with the very best service. Our family had been pet free for years until a sick stray cat showed up at our house. With special care and advice from Rapids Veterinary Hospital he is now a healthy, happy member of our family. This past Christmas my cat, Mitts, became very ill and I brought her here to the caring hands of Rapids. My experience with the staff and the Vet who provided for her diagnosis and care was professional and caring. And beyond that, they showed great empathy and concern for me when I ultimately had to make the decision to say goodbye to Mitts. I am currently looking for a Vet for our newly adopted fur baby. We were considering this vet office but I have just heard some disheartening news about a liitle dog who's owner her brought to this this clinic in a real emergancy. And was turned away because it was CLOSING TIME....... Seriously why would you turn away an emergency where the needed accute Medical attention... Bleeding from a dog attack.... If this is true i dont think i can trust your judgement..... This is truly distributing to me.... I'm not too sure if I could trust the newest member of our family to someone whom would not do the right thing!!! Regarless of CLOSING TIME!!! A year ago we took our Sphynx cat, Kit to Dr. Jeff Iacobelli after she had a bad reaction from a vaccination from another local vet. Dr. Iacobelli examined her and suggested that due to her smaller size that she should receive vaccinations one at time rather than all at once. This strategy has worked well for her. Since last year we have adopted another Shynx, Missy, who came with some breathing problems. Dr. Iacobelli diagnosed Missy's problem as a secondary bacterial sinus infection which he believed was left over from a previously cured viral infection. He then went to the trouble of consulting with a veterinary internist before determining the best antibiotic to prescribe for her. She is about three quarters through her antibiotic treatment and breathing much better. We have no doubts she is well on her way to a complete recovery. We feel blessed to have found The Rapids Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Iacobelli always takes his time with each of his patients and takes great care to educate pet owners in layman's terms. We find that a better understanding of our pets has allowed us to better care for them. Dr. Iacobelli, Dr Knight and all the staff at The Rapids are wonderful, caring professionals who we highly recommend to any pet owner. Brenda and Brian Read Less
