I've been to 5 different vets across Markham and downtown Toronto and I have the best experience at Miliken Bridlewood. Dr. Lam is incredibly patient and always takes her time to help understand the issue at hand. She clearly cares about her clients, and it shows when she follows up diligently to check on our pup. All of the staff have been nothing but incredibly kind to me and my dog at every visit. My only complaint is that appointments never seem to happen on time, I'll end up waiting 25 minutes + sometimes. I'm not sure if this is expected for all vets but now I make appointments only when I can spare at least 2 hours. HOWEVER, the clinic is very quick to respond to emails and calls which makes my life a lot easier. I don't plan on switching vets anytime soon and I'll definitely recommend Miliken Bridlewood to my pet owner friends as well. Read Less

Dr. Lam and her team really cared about my cat. Friendly and always understanding about my questions. The hospital is spotless whenever I've been there! It also sells pet food, drugs, some toys, and has a spa and hotel. I've bought food based on the  recommendation of Dr. Lam and found the prices better than pet food stores. I've used the spa too and was happy with how clean and cute she looked after. Read Less

I took my husky Draco to the clinic to get his fang checked out because the tip was turning purple. I did a little research prior to going in, and asked whether a root canal was an option for Draco as I didn't want him to lose his fang. Dr. Lam informed me they would not be able to perform a root canal but can refer me to a specialist. She also called in, whom I assume to be the owner of the clinic, another vet to give a second opinion and they both said his tooth will need to be extracted or a root canal needs to be performed, but either or it needs to be done asap. Since I said i'd prefer a root canal over extraction Dr. Lam took some pictures of Draco's tooth and said would send it to the specialist for a consult. They also said i needed to do blood work with them right away as Draco will need to get it done anyways and sooner the better so he can go into surgery asap. Draco gets very anxious visiting the vet, so they prescribed him a depressant medication to calm him down since he was too nervous for them to be able to extract any blood. So i was told to come back the next day after he'd had taken the medication. I went back the next day, the medication didn't work he was still very nervous and scared but they managed to get the blood. In the end i paid close to $400, for the consult, medication, and blood work. A day or so later Dr.Lam called me and said the specialist finally got back to her and said Draco would not need extraction or root canal, and that in those situations dogs can function completely fine unless the discoloration reaches the root. This place is a joke, both vets telling me Draco for sure will need to be operated on so i must have the blood work ready to go. So i'm pretty sure they just wanted to charge me for something since if I had gone to the specialist in case Draco really did need a root canal they would be making little to no money off me. This is regarding a call I made in the summer (morning in July). I thought I could have let it go, but my experience left me feeling pretty crappy for a while. I was in the process of adopting a dog (first time owner), and skimmed through vet clinics in my area. This is the nearest vet clinic, so I thought I'd give it a call.A female receptionist (?) picked up the phone. I asked if they were taking in new patients, and if they can help me with the application as it was asking for a potential vet clinic if the dog was my first pet. I was going to ask if I could list them down. She answered me so reluctantly, and you can definitely sense her annoyance over the phone. Now, when you're a first time pet owner making your first phone calls to potential clinics, you've got a few solid questions. And, at least for me, it was a upsetting to have a crappy conversation in your first attempt. The phone call lasted less than 2 minutes because I realized she didn't want anything to do with my business, and neither did I.Ended up phoning other vet clinics whose receptionists were more understanding and patient with my questions. I'm not asking her to be enthusiastic with me or other people who might come with a few burning questions; just be polite. Read Less

Been coming here with my dog since he was 2 years old (he's 8 now) and since then, we added two more furbabies to our family and have been seeing the doctors here. We used to see Dr. Lee and Dr. Won but they left the clinic a while ago so now we see Dr. Lam. We have many friends that also bring their dogs here and they too have been experiencing less than stellar service (a doctor forgot to remove the stitches from her dog after her surgery).Dr. Lam is very patient and listens and ask questions. She explains everything very clearly and does a run through with what was discussed at the end of the appointment which is very refreshing. Unfortunately, she doesn't come into the appointment with a background of the pets and shuffles through the dog's chart at the beginning of the appointment but we still really like her because she's thorough. The receptionist, Hazel, is a new (our first time meeting her) hire that seems to get flustered easily. We always paid for our dogs separately (sister pays for one and I pay for two) but when we asked her, she became very upset. We apologized and informed her that we always did it this way. She kissed her teeth and said she will see what she can do. The total was $1463.60 for all three dogs so she charged my sister $431.74 leaving me to pay $1031.86 but it didn't make sense because we knew each dog costs $431.74. We informed her that she didn't charge tax for the first dog and she got angry. We asked her why would I pay for someone else's taxes and she just rolled her eyes and angrily corrected her mistake. There was many other bumps with the receptionist during our visit that day (giving us the wrong dosage for our dog, rolling her eyes when we gave her our dog's stool sample, etc.). I noticed that this clinic is pricier than others as well and have considered switching clinics but have yet to find a decent one. Read Less

A heartwarming experience at Milliken Bridlewood. Recently we lost our 15 yo dear child to kidney disease. When I brought half case of KD food to them, I got the full case refunded. I went back when I saw the invoice. Hazel (front desk) said it was not a mistake, and sorry for our loss. I did not and would not expect such kind deed. They definitely did a wonderful thing. Have been going to this Clinic (26+ years) since they where at their old location at Kennedy near Steeles. I have taken all my pets, Cats(6) & Dogs(2). Always feel taken care of. All questions always answered, no matter how silly they may be. I have used their grooming services and their kennel services. Staff kept us up to date on dogs while we had them in kennel during our Vacation. Everyone at the Clinic has always been great! Thank you!! Read Less

For 30+ years our felines have been entrusted to the care of Dr. Ross and the Miliken Bridlewood team. We cannot say enough good things about the care our beloved pets have received over these three plus decades. In these past few days dealing with our very sick16 year old Blue Point and working through the decision to assist his death, Dr. Lam, Dr. Won and the team were compassionate beyond words. Thank you just does not seem sufficient. Read Less

AWFUL. The receptionist, "nurse" and most importantly the vet are all rude. The vet shows no genuine interest in the pet nor does she show care when my pet was ill. The vet treated both me and my pet as though we were a nuisance to her her. To top it all off she is quite snooty. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone. Read Less
