Travelling with a dog has complications especially when your dog gets sick. I found myself in this situation in Port Elgin. My dog seemed to have swallowed a long piece of rope. I knew he needed to throw it up before it got caught in his intestines. Both vet clinics in Port Elgin were too busy to see him. Thankfully, I found Southampton Pet Hospital. Dr. Albright was willing to fit my dog in between her other appointments. Amy, the technician, was efficient and caring in her communications with me. I was so thankful to the whole clinic. If I lived anywhere near Southampton, this would be the vet clinic I would choose.

Dr.Barry is great - he is friendly and very knowledgeable! We switched to Southampton Pet Hospital after being ripped off at another vet clinic. We also needed access to Opthamology care, which Southampton provides unlike smaller clinics in the area. Our appointments have all went well with great care provided. Dr.Barry and team did an excellent job with our first dog's spaying, and will be shortly taking care of our second dog. We now have two Aussies and take both to see him. He is aware of potential MDR1 problems and ajusts care and vaccinations as needed for them. We have never experienced any negativity from staff or cleanliness issues like others have posted! They also show they care about the well being of all aninals by caring for strays and rehoming them. We would highly recommend Southampton Pet Hospital to anyone in need of a vet or animal care.

Please do not bring your pets here! The negligence of the staff killed our beloved cat. They had been giving us the WRONG dose of his thyroid meds for nearly a year. When we had his bloodwork done, they said he was fine- later we found out they were reading the WRONG lab results. The place is also so dirty which is apparent from the stench when you walk in, on one visit the vet pulled out a scale that had a large feces on it. Save your animal and go somewhere else.

I don't have the words to express how awesome this place is. My dog developed a mystery illness 2 years ago. My vet at the time and 2 other vets after that could not figure out what was wrong with her other then "allergies".
I ended up here because I was going out of country and needed a place I could trust to board her that was reasonably priced. While she was there the team took such good care of her and set out to find out what it was wrong wit her. It was skin cancer.
Dr.Barry was amazing at treating her. He went above and beyond what any previous vet had done to for her. He even consulted with a specialist in the US and did so much research on her condition.
She loved coming in for treatments and seeing the staff. I haven't seen her that excited to go to the vet ,ever.
While it was caught to late he gave her few months of being a real dog again before she couldn't fight it any more and for that I'm super grateful.

If it was not for this care and dedication of your team, I know Ryley would not be with me today. Dr. Jones and Dr. Berry, your speedy diagnosis of Ryleys condition, had him quickly on the operating table, giving him a fighting chance. Your frequent follow up calls to check on Ryleys recovery, speak a thousand words for your devotion and passion for veterinarian medicine, as well as providing me with much needed comfort and optimism. I also wish to thank Titan for donating his blood to Ryley, it was greatly appreciated, as I know with Titans age it is not something he does regularly. I am so very grateful for the compassion your team has shown Ryley, you went above and beyond my expectations. The care Ryley received is quite evident through his trust in you, as he no longer hesitates to visit your hospital. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for the involvement and time Dr Curtain and Dr Charron spent to insure successful breeding of my border collie. For the last 2 years she has had silent heats. Another reproductive vet said she would never breed! These are vets who go above and beyond the average vet. They also explain everything and no question is too "silly" for them! Their office staff is super too!

After hearing different things from two other vets, Dr. Berry clarified what is likely happening in or older dog and came up with a medical option that should greatly improve his quality of life. Travelling with a dog has complications especially when your dog gets sick. I found myself in this situation in Port Elgin. My dog seemed to have swallowed a long piece of rope. I knew he needed to throw it up before it got caught in his intestines. Both vet clinics in Port Elgin were too busy to see him. Thankfully, I found Southampton Pet Hospital. Dear Southampton Pet Hospital, I wish to thank everyone at the Southampton Pet Hospital for the amazing care that you provided Ryley with recently. If it was not for this care and dedication of your team, I know Ryley would not be with me today. Dr. Jones and Dr. Berry, your speedy diagnosis of Ryleys condition, had him quickly on the operating table, giving him a fighting chance. Your frequent follow up calls to check on Ryleys recovery, speak a thousand words for your devotion and passion for veterinarian medicine, as well as providing me with much needed comfort and optimism. I also wish to thank Titan for donating his blood to Ryley, it was greatly appreciated, as I know with Titans age it is not something he does regularly. I am so very grateful for the compassion your team has shown Ryley, you went above and beyond my expectations. The care Ryley received is quite evident through his trust in you, as he no longer hesitates to visit your hospital. Ryley has always been a very happy go lucky dog even through his medical mishaps; he is a true companion and my best friend. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for the involvement and time Dr Curtain and Dr Charron spent to insure successful breeding of my border collie. For the last 2 years she has had silent heats. Another reproductive vet said she would never breed! These are vets who go above and beyond the average vet. They also explain everything and no question is too "silly" for them! Their office staff is super too!

Finally, a veterinarian who seems entirely dedicated to his job and who keeps up on all the most recent advances in treatment! Our Golden Retriever began having seizures at the age of eight. After hearing different things from two other vets, Dr. Berry clarified what is likely happening in or older dog and came up with a medical option that should greatly improve his quality of life. Thank you again!
