This place is great, I took my dog here from puppy now to adult. Dr. Flood is amazing she is very caring and compassionate. My boy is very big and can be a lot to handle at sometimes but they always do the best job. My only complaint would be the waiting room gets pretty busy at times and it's a small area. I have been taking my dogs and cats here for over 12 year's. The staff is very friendly, always helpful and caring. The doctors are amazing!! Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting a New doctor Dr. B. Dorgai. She is absolutely amazing!! I brought my cat in, wasn't sure what was wrong and she was so wonderful. We also discussed my dog who has been ill, and she was so caring and made me feel sp much better. I highly recommend her. I also love Dr. Lowery and Dr. Thomas. But, I look forward to seeing Dr.Dorgai in the future. The prices are so reasonable, the staff is truly wonderful and hard working. They all care so much about the animals and us. I highly recommend Thorold Veterinary Clinic. I would never go anywhere else. Read Less

Been going to this vet office since 2003. Dr. Lowery is kind compassionate & caring. I never feel rushed & my pets are provide with top notch care at very affordable prices. They do not price gauge. Reception staff are efficient, friendly & courteous. The waiting room can be a tad hectic at times however it is so delightful to interact with all the pets. I have taken my rabbits there and Dr. Ker took awesome care of them. He is very knowledgeable and gives explanations and educates well. I had 5 male rabbits fixed by him, two at a time and they recovered fast without issues. How they store the pets overnight is another thing, 3 out of 5 came home with dust mites. This Veterinary Clinic is usually very busy but that's because it is one of the best vet clinics around! I've been going to this Clinic for many years now and I have never experienced any problems. The doctors here are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and there's no "trying to rush you thru". I live in Niagara-on-the-Lake and I travel to Thorold to get to this Veterinary Clinic and I will continue to do so because as far as I'm concerned it is one of the best clinics around!! Read Less

We go to the vet monday with out bunny. He give her antibiotics and says come back friday and we will see hows shes doing and give her more... Well she passed away two days later. I will NEVER take another bunny or small animal to Dr. Alistair Ker again! Read Less

I have mixed feelings about this place... But I'll start off with the good: Dr. Rachael Thomas has been absolutely wonderful with my dog. She's very caring, gentle and thorough with her exams. She's also super friendly and easy to talk to. I could tell that she loves working with animals. However, if you have any SMALL or EXOTIC pets, I would stay away from this place. Dr. Kerr has a very limited schedule, first of all, for small animals. I had to take time off work to bring my parrot in for a blood test only for Dr. Kerr and his two assistants to constrain him and screw it up the first time causing much stress and blood loss to my bird. I also had my bird's wings clipped and watched him get throw to the ground after he bit the doctor. Also, my bird could still fly and maneuver really well after the wing trim so that was pointless... Although Dr. Kerr does seem quite knowledgeable, I'm not sure I would ever bring my bird back to him due to his poor execution and his attitude, which to me seemed like he wasn't very concerned at all. Fantastic! Dr. Janet Lowery has been amazing with each and every one of our dear furbabies! Their support staff is incredible, as well! We can not thank them enough for all the care and support they provided after our littlest fluffball passed away. We highly recommend them for anyone looking for a safe, caring vet! They have great prices, but DO NOT get your pets vaccinated there for rabies!!!! All of their rabies vaccines are expired. I took a closer look at my cat's vaccination record and the stickers from the vaccine vials that were used report that the vaccines were given months to a year after their expiry date! They charge over $90.00 now for the three year vaccine, and they give you an expired vaccine and say it's perfectly fine. RIP-OFF! Read Less

Thorold Veterinary Hospital is where we have taken our pets for years and we have never had a problem. They take care of all different kinds of animals (including repriles) so we can bring the whole zoo here if need be.The LocationThe building is a nice little building with street parking all around it. It is very clean and well kept both inside and out. The exam rooms are a good size and have seating for owners which is nice. The only issue I've had with the building is that the reception area is small. It only becomes a problem when there are a lot of appointments waiting because you can get a lot of different animals packed in pretty fast and not all of them will get along.The StaffThe staff here are amazing. They always are very caring and considerate and do their best to help you and your pets. We trust them completely with our animals and they have never steered us wrong. For us they have done everything from normal checkups, fixed a broken leg (cat), spade a cat and helped us deal with our dog's cancer. Its not always the easiest days when we go in there but they help us get through it and always give us good advice.The ValueI know when it comes to health car that money isn't the most important factor but I would like to mention that they seem to have very competitive prices for their appointments/procedures.We love the care our animals get at Thorold Veterinary Hospital and we recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a good vet.
