The best thing about this Hospital is the compassion they have for animals/family. My son's dog Roxy was dying and in so much pain from breast cancer, having to put her to sleep was the hardest thing for us to do as it was the last link to him, he died 7 yrs ago in a collision with his gf and their baby.. I will never forget the compassion Dr Bruce had not only for our dog but for my family.. I have 2 of her puppies and they will be going to see Dr Bruce for now on.. Thank you so much Dr Bruce and staff!! You all Rock!! The Ouellet Family Xo

Very upset that our appointment time was not clearly stated. Called early in the week and was advised earliest appointment was Thursday. Upon arrival a few days later was told no next Thursday then was told could get us in at 2pm. If this was the case why did you not just book us in at 2 pm a few days earlier and not say earliest was the following week.
Update: The office did call my wife back to apologize and smooth things out. We now have a return appointment booked. Will update as to satisfaction. I don't normally do these "reviews" but this really upset me.
Update 2: We did get into see the doctor as promosed on Saturday. She was very pleasent and courtious. Overall they did a big turnaraound and I appreciate that they took my dogs needs as important along with our time too. Once again I don't normally review things but glad to see they are willing to make up for it.

my pet went there for an operation, wasnt given full aftercare, and ended up dying from antibiotics. vet didn't have much experience but took the responsibility and it costed my pets life.

I was rudely hung up on after trying to ask about cremation services in the area for our dog that passed in the night. The ground is still hard so burial isn't an option and we weren't about to leave ...
I was rudely hung up on after trying to ask about cremation services in the area for our dog that passed in the night. The ground is still hard so burial isn't an option and we weren't about to leave the poor girl laying on the ground. We wanted to do right by her. I wasn't even done asking my question before the lady that answered the phone hung up. Is their primary number not the number you call to get a hold of them? Who else would know better than the vet? As if it wasn't a rough situation already, what the heck kind of rudeness was that.

Very friendly and caring staff. Brought my cat in for an injured tail. Dr Alec Smith did an xray and exam and was very thorough in explaining the results to me. Very happy with all the visits I have had there. My Bengal Cat Jazmine was Spayed there also. They gave me the option of her staying overnight for observation at no extra cost.

I have been coming here for quit a long time now with my first cat Nibs. Always seen Dr Kubinec. He give grate service and was very friendly. My last visit this past weekend with my new cat Eddie I was a little disappointed with the service. Went in for his annual check up and vaccines. Didn't check eyes or look at ears at all. Just listen to the hart and was try to check his teeth. When giving him the vaccine didn't ask me to hold him from the front so he wouldn't move. So he kind of got a bit frighten. I think it is time to look for other veterinarian place. I have never left there unhappy until this visit.

I was incredibly unhappy with the service at this veterinarian hospital.
We adopted a cat from Super Pet so of course we booked her in for a complete check up. She was scratching at her ears and we thought she might have mites. We had two different vets check on two different and they both said she didn't.
Looking for a second opinion, we took our new cat to a different clinic and the first vet we saw there checked her ears for mites and found some immediately.
Incredibly unhappy with the service and level of care my cats have received from this practice.

I have been taking my dogs to Thunder Bay Vet Hospital for many years.. For a couple years I had been with TBVH and my male black lab puppy had acquired parvovirus (he didn't have his shots yet) and they were very nice and seemed almost as upset as I was.. I was told that during his 3 night stay they had a vet technician stay overnight with him and a vet come in every 4 hours to check on him.. Later when my girl and male (the black lab) had puppies I took them to Slate River temporarily where my dogs and the puppies received their shots and mom was spayed.. I went back to Thunder Bay Vet Hospital (through no fault of Slate River, they were nice and did a decent job on the spay, although with TBVH they gave my boy Ryder pain and antiinflamatory meds to take home for the next three days and slate River did not, although both vet clinics took the time to call me and check to make sure they were healing well) and have been back with them for a about 4 1/2 years now.. I brought the mom and dad back there for their yearly care as well as the two pups I had for a year, one that had stomach problems that they provided medication for at a very reasonable price.. Now, I take all three of my dogs there for all their shots and preventatives and yearly blood work and got my male neutered there.. I am very nervous when it comes to my animals getting surgery even routine ones and they were comforting and it went very well.. I've spoken to them about getting my younger girl spayed and spoke to the other clinics and it was less than 10$ less at slate River and less than 5$ less at crossroads, I'd pay that in gas.. And for the items that do cost more I feel ok about it because of the good quality of service.. I want the very best for my dogs and that's what I feel they provide :)

Have always had great service from the doctors in TBay Vet Clinic. I can tell by the way my animals react. My blind German Sheppard would cower and I had to carry her into another vet clinic, but not at TBay Vet Clinic. She walks right in. My cat has not problem coming in the door either and they both always leave happy, happy, happy. I also have a good experience there, just in the way the staff pay attention to my pets. They are precious to us and it is great to feel that there, in how they treat their special patients. Thanks TBay Vet Clinic!

The best thing about this Hospital is the compassion they have for animals/family. My son's dog Roxy was dying and in so much pain from breast cancer, having to put her to sleep was the hardest thing for us to do as it was the last link to him, he died 7 yrs ago in a collision with his gf and their baby.. Very upset that our appointment time was not clearly stated. Called early in the week and was advised earliest appointment was Thursday. I was rudely hung up on after trying to ask about cremation services in the area for our dog that passed in the night. Have always had great service from the doctors in TBay Vet Clinic. I can tell by the way my animals react. My blind German Sheppard would cower and I had to carry her into another vet clinic, but not at TBay Vet Clinic. She walks right in. My cat has not problem coming in the door either and they both always leave happy, happy, happy. I also have a good experience there, just in the way the staff pay attention to my pets.
