I have brought two cats to this clinic. One was neutered (a simple operation) here and had to be brought back post-op due to possible hemorrhage. Then, during an annual checkup for my other cat, the vet listened to his heart for maybe 5 seconds and decides to tell me he has a heart murmur. My cat was shaking profusely from anxiety, so I do not know how she could possibly have diagnosed this within such a short period of time while he was in a state of stress. Now that she has made this diagnosis they tell me that I will have to pay for a $900 ultrasound if he requires any anesthesia, on top of the cost of blood work and procedure, if needed in the future. Also, every time I am in for a checkup I have a different vet and they do not know the medical history. There is no continuity of care and I feel that they just try to push procedures and tests for money.

I found that some of the vets here were unnessesarily rude and condescent on many occasions. Receptionists are nice though, but unable to answer questions related to standard procedures such as spaying. Additionnally, and as others mentioned, prices are exceptionnally high. But what bothers me the most is the lack of transparency and inability to give an estimate of the costs before providing the services. They would call me (if not harrass me) every month for me to come in under a single pretext (ex tick prevention medication), but there would somehow always be additional costs for unrelated things they had never mentioned before (note that my dog is absolutely healthy and has no disease). I want to be responsible and provide the best to my dog, but I wish the bills were more predictable during routine check up visits and not a scary surprise.

Our dog Cabot actually will pull me towards the clinic when we're approaching! He always has had a positive experience there and the staff is so great with his care each time. Dr. Meagan is a delight with him and her communications to us as his owners is always clear and professional. The entire staff is wonderful especially the receptionists. Also, when I call regarding a concern, they are always on point to offer guidance and advice. They really care about our pets. I can't recommend this clinic enough.

They were really helpful, from receptionist to doctor. They gave me an additional 10 min to my appointment as a curtesy since it was our first visit. Dr. Meghan took care of my dog, she was patient with me, explained every thing and how to manage my dog. The receptionist and technician helping dr. Meghan were amazing as well, super kind and sweet with my dog. I explained to dr. Meghan that I was on a tight budget and she helped me fit everything my dog needed within my means. Again I would highly recommend them.

It takes a hell of a lot to get me to lose my cool, but, I've been a customer since 2007 and yesterday I've just about had my last hung up from the receptionist at Bloorcourt Vet. Since my dog passed (few years now) I've brought my sister's dog for quick check ups & to buy his special food when she travels overseas to visit me, because up until then I had nothing but good things to say about Bloorcourt. However, far TOO MANY times to count now, I (and my sister) have been treated with uncalled for rudeness over the phone for just about any type of question or concern, while receiving nothing but civil and professional phone service and all-round basic human decency in other veterinary offices for the exact same question and manner. I've gone as far as to wonder if it's because she never gets around to ask me my name to find out if I'm a customer or how long I've been one, but truth is, respect shouldn't be on a customer only basis... and if I'm going to get barked at to then be left hanging on several occasions by a receptionist for asking why might the cost of the same document have increased 300% or if they have a certain food available for order or not and then hang the phone on me after a smirky "we only reserve such things for customers" without being given the courtesy to answer back that I AM one.... I might as well stop being one, and take my hard earned money where the pets I care for & I are valued as customers. Wouldn't you think so too?

Brought our cat in to see Dr. Jack. He was very attentive and didn't rush through the exam. He was very good with keeping our feral cat calm and gained her trust. He explained our options without treating us like a couple of "suckers". We went to an emergency vet a few days before and were told her coughing and fever was from a heart condition and that she needed evey test in the book, which was a lie. Dr. Jack ruled out any long term conditions without draining us. He did not pressure us into tests. He explained which tests would help diagnose the quickest and which tests wouldn't be efficient. He was able to diagnose pneumonia with an xray and nothing more. Stevie is now on her way to recovery and we will keep supporting this vet clinic!

Very friendly to animals but unless you are paying a veterinary exam fee getting any dialogue from the staff about your animals health is extremely difficult. I've paid thousands of dollars in the past here and still the customer service is terrible. Paid for flea and tick exam and testing. Had to ask the technician to come speak to me after the exam and tell me if she found any fleas or ticks. Not forthcoming with any information. I mentioned that my dog was shaking his ears more than normal and they said if I wanted an opinion for my minor concern I would have to pay for a vet exam. Very pushy for vet exams. Got as far as being in the exam room and the veterinarian entering while I was discussing my dogs ear shaking with the technician and realizing a vet exam is likely not necessary for such a minor concern. Technician was trying to lecture me with the analogy if I were sick I would go to the doctor and OHIP would pay for it. Correct but I would not go to the doctor for a minor itch or sneeze!!! So patronizing. Veterinarian then silently exited the room without even acknowledging me when she realized I felt I was being bamboozled for a vet exam that my dog did not need. What kind of way is that to deal with paying customers??!! Again I've spent thousands of dollars here and apparently I'm not worth the common courtesy of a hello or goodbye from the vet unless my wallet is out!

I have seen several of the vets at Bloorcourt for my Great Dane puppy and we always have an excellent experience. The Vets, Vet Techs and the receptionists are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The clinic is also really great at fitting you in when you need an appointment - on several occasions that were time sensitive/urgent, I called in the morning asking for an appointment and was in to see a vet later that day. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the wait times can be a little lengthy but for the service I receive, I feel it's worth the wait. I am very happy to bring my dog here and am confident that he is receiving the proper care and treatment from the team. Thank you!!

Doesnt the staff clean urine off the floor in the reception area? I regreted getting both my dogs spayed here. I don't know what they did to them. I see can the traumatize face on both of my dog faces when i came to pick her up. After they got spayed one my dog is terrify of any metal sound. She would run a hide and is extremely hard to go a walk with her. My other dog became agressive and would bark at strangers. Both of these dogs were happy and friendly dogs before they were spayed. I wish they would warned me if there is a chance this would happen. Do yourself a favor and find a better vet. This place tiny, smells bad and a money grab.

I have to agree with several other reviewers here - Bloorcourt seems to be charging exorbitant prices for basic services. (This is a major change from the previous owners of the clinic.) We have a completely healthy dog, and his basic shots and checkup plus heartworm/flea meds cost $395 today! After I paid - frankly, in shock - I got home and had a chance to go over the bill, then called to inquire about a $75 blood work charge that was on top of checkup, vaccines and meds. I was told that the "new owners mandate annual blood work - it's a higher standard of practice." It may indeed be a higher standard of practice, but we've owned two other dogs and have never forced to do yearly blood work - in fact, our previous vet told us it wasn't necessary. What's more, I wasn't told that it's now mandatory during the checkup, so the charge took me completely by surprise. Honestly, the vet and techs are nice, but it is NOT cool to impose new charges and not warm clients in advance. $400 is a LOT of money for basic vet services.

We have a young, healthy dog, and typically spend $200-$300 total per year for her exam, basic blood tests, vaccines and heartworm medication. For some unexplained reason, this year the vet recommended she receive a number of different/additional products and services, which cost us almost $700. This is simply ridiculous for a dog without any health concerns, who has never been sick! I feel they are taking advantage of owners' fears and lack of knowledge. We will be taking our business to a new vet next year. I am looking for recommendations in the Bloor West area :)

My first experience with this clinic's staff was fine but their prices are not as reasonable as you may think.- They did an accuplex heartworm test on my puppy to see if she had heartworm but I was informed by my current vet that the test was unnecessary until 5-7 months AFTER she turned 1 and the test could've delivered a false negative due to her age (5mo at the time) . $65. - They quoted a spay for me at $900 before tax, which is ridiculous because the average in the area is 730, tax incl. Many places I found in my area were even in the 500s. - Has to be reminded to send veterinary files to other vets, often does not send all information. Went to a new vet yesterday and said they did not receive any of the information needed.- while the vaccine fees seem appealing, add that onto a $70 appointment cost and it loses its appeal very quick.

I have trusted the Bloorcourt Vet Clinic with my pets for many years. The staff is friendly, they show true compassion and respect for the animals in their care. I have turned to the Bloorcourt Vet clinic when my cat was at the end of her life. It was a difficult time for us and Bloorcourt treated us with kindness and sympathy and they walked us through every step.
I had another cat (at another time) that required an after hours emergency clinic and Bloorcourt reached out to my family after hearing about my pet's death and they mailed us a beautiful certificate commemorating the life of my beloved pet. We were very impressed considering we did have a chance to go Bloorcourt for the procedure.
I am on my THIRD kitty (a little tabby) and I wouldn't trust any one else with her health and well - being.
It's true - they are pricey, but you get what you pay for. Believe me. It's worth it.
Thank you Bloorcourt for serving my pets for about 15 years now

Thank you to the clinic for their positivity and helpful suggestions. The staff was very welcoming and overly kind to both of us. Dr Galina offered me paperwork and reading material on vaccines instead of insisting that everything be administered immediately. I was given helpful suggestions for supplements and dietary offerings instead of medical advice for occasional/re-occuring GI issues that Nebo experiences. YAY! My fear of vets that push medication and stinky vet-pet food have been lifted. I will happily refer friends and family to this clinic and finally begin yearly/regular check ups :)

Natural Healing at its best !Our 2 year old Rottie, Becki, recently went through a five hour surgery to remove a spinal subarachnoid cyst. That cyst had given her "Wobbler-like" symptoms. We had chosen the holistic approach when she was first diagnosed as a "Wobbler dog" 15 months ago by a neurologist. Despite her condition, Becki has been a spunky, happy and surprising mobile dog until an unfortunate dog attack incident early this year. The consequences of that attack led us to an MRI and the discovery of the cyst and then surgery. It's the surgeon's comment that I really want to share here - He thought Becki was extremely " lucky" that she was able to maintain such a normal and active doggie life before all this. We know in our mind and in our hearts that regular acupuncture treatments from Dr. Galina was Becki's luck.

Dr. Galina is so kind and gentle! My 12-year-old Chinese Crested was in pain from horrible teeth problems that often come as a side effect of being hairless. Dr. Galina and the Bloorcourt team were so wonderful and took such good care of him before, during and after surgery. He had 11 teeth pulled and they have given him a new lease on life! He is such a happy dog. The cost was even lower than the estimate. So happy we have Dr. Galina as a vet!

I'm surprised with the bad reviews as my experience has been the complete opposite. I took my cat here to have her teeth cleaned with possibility of extractions upon further inspection. I was quoted a price but ended up paying half that as my cat's teeth were healthier than we thought. I felt they were completely honest and up front about everything from start to finish. They are aware of cost concerns and are always willing to be clear on things that are essential and things that can wait. They followed up with phone calls and even called me back to answer some questions I had. They also treated my cat very tenderly during her check up. People who become veterinarians love animals. It's actually harder to become a vet than a regular human doctor because of all the different species they have to learn about. To say that a veterinarian doesn't love animals is a total contradiction. I highly recommend this clinic for your pet's needs. I find they really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable while they care for your precious fur babies. I'm really pleased with the quality of care my cat has received and am glad I switched vets.

The first few times I went my puppy was fine (other than an apparent bout of giardia which took over $200 to cure..) but when he was about 4.5 months old the one vet said she detected a heart murmur. Two weeks later we took him in for his leptospirosis shot, and this is how the last appointment played out:-Vet/ vet tech came in (I don't know who she is, she never introduced herself to me and looked completely miserable the whole time)-Did not weigh or do a physical check of the dog-When asked about his heart murmur her response was "let me take him to the back and let the pro's listen"-Scolded us in disgust for us taking our puppy to a dog park to get him socialized because he is small (insinuating a big dog would attack him)-Did not know how to answer any questions we had about our dog-Stuck a thermometer in his rectum (he is a chihuahua and only weighs a few pounds. I have not seen anyone before or since do that)-Just kinda grabbed him and poked him with the needle without careNeedless to say after that I never wanted to give that over priced and inconsiderate practice another penny of my money or have my pup go through that again.It also turns out (after seeing two other different vets and practices) my dog DOES NOT have a heart murmur. I can only assume they were trying to weasle me out of more money. Not to mention I spent a month of my time fretting over something a couple of their "vets" told me that wasn't true.

I've been to various vet clinics in the past 15 years and I'm sticking with this one for now. They are fantastic and really care about the well being of my cats.I really like that when I mentioned I wasn't happy with the food I'd been feeding my cats, that they gave resources to educate myself rather than trying to sell me food. They also didn't try to sell me on unnecessary medical procedures and they followed up to see that my cat was healing.I agree with the other reviews that the front of house staff is excellent.

Their front of house staff is excellent. They are friendly and wonderful people. Samantha can warm anyone with a smile. The vet that used to be in charge of this clinic Dr. Gewarter is a wonderful man, with care and concern for your pets as his top most concern. However, they've recently had a change of vets. The new vet, whose name I do not recall, seems to have a new medication or injection to purchase every time we visit, scaring us with threats of cancer. So suspect, we spent the money on a endoscopy / biopsy with another clinic, to get a real answer, which was half the price bloorcourt had quoted to do it through their sister clinic. Result: We were being conned. Our cat is healthy, and most likely had constipation or something similar to kick off our concern in the first place.He had us feeding our cat chemo drugs, just to make a buck.

I have tried ALL of the vet clinics in the King and Queen West neighbourhoods over the last 10 years, and after hearing many glowing reviews of Bloorcourt, I decided to give them a try, despite the extra travel time to get to Bloor West. It was such a great experience, and I'm so happy to say that I've found a vet that I trust with my pet's lives.Every single staff member there is friendly and professional, and the vet we saw was thorough, personable, and clearly loves animals, which is surprisingly NOT always the case. They strive to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both the pets and the owners.The BEST part for me is how safety-conscious they are there....for the first time, I wasn't worried that my pet might escape. And they don't think that I'm crazy, or if they do, they don't show it, and that's good enough for me!!! :)A top-notch clinic in every way, Bloorcourt is the answer to every paranoid pet owner's prayers.

I have brought two cats to this clinic. One was neutered (a simple operation) here and had to be brought back post-op due to possible hemorrhage. Then, during an annual checkup for my other cat, the vet listened to his heart for maybe 5 seconds and decides to tell me he has a heart murmur. My cat was shaking profusely from anxiety, so I do not know how she could possibly have diagnosed this within such a short period of time while he was in a state of stress. Now that she has made this diagnosis they tell me that I will have to pay for a $900 ultrasound if he requires any anesthesia, on top of the cost of blood work and procedure, if needed in the future. Also, every time I am in for a checkup I have a different vet and they do not know the medical history. There is no continuity of care and I feel that they just try to push procedures and tests for money.

I found that some of the vets here were unnessesarily rude and condescent on many occasions. Receptionists are nice though, but unable to answer questions related to standard procedures such as spaying. Additionnally, and as others mentioned, prices are exceptionnally high. But what bothers me the most is the lack of transparency and inability to give an estimate of the costs before providing the services. They would call me (if not harrass me) every month for me to come in under a single pretext (ex tick prevention medication), but there would somehow always be additional costs for unrelated things they had never mentioned before (note that my dog is absolutely healthy and has no disease). I want to be responsible and provide the best to my dog, but I wish the bills were more predictable during routine check up visits and not a scary surprise.

Our dog Cabot actually will pull me towards the clinic when we're approaching! He always has had a positive experience there and the staff is so great with his care each time. Dr. Meagan is a delight with him and her communications to us as his owners is always clear and professional. The entire staff is wonderful especially the receptionists. Also, when I call regarding a concern, they are always on point to offer guidance and advice. They really care about our pets. I can't recommend this clinic enough.

They were really helpful, from receptionist to doctor. They gave me an additional 10 min to my appointment as a curtesy since it was our first visit. Dr. Meghan took care of my dog, she was patient with me, explained every thing and how to manage my dog. The receptionist and technician helping dr. Meghan were amazing as well, super kind and sweet with my dog. I explained to dr. Meghan that I was on a tight budget and she helped me fit everything my dog needed within my means. Again I would highly recommend them.

It takes a hell of a lot to get me to lose my cool, but, I've been a customer since 2007 and yesterday I've just about had my last hung up from the receptionist at Bloorcourt Vet. Since my dog passed (few years now) I've brought my sister's dog for quick check ups & to buy his special food when she travels overseas to visit me, because up until then I had nothing but good things to say about Bloorcourt. However, far TOO MANY times to count now, I (and my sister) have been treated with uncalled for rudeness over the phone for just about any type of question or concern, while receiving nothing but civil and professional phone service and all-round basic human decency in other veterinary offices for the exact same question and manner. I've gone as far as to wonder if it's because she never gets around to ask me my name to find out if I'm a customer or how long I've been one, but truth is, respect shouldn't be on a customer only basis... and if I'm going to get barked at to then be left hanging on several occasions by a receptionist for asking why might the cost of the same document have increased 300% or if they have a certain food available for order or not and then hang the phone on me after a smirky "we only reserve such things for customers" without being given the courtesy to answer back that I AM one.... I might as well stop being one, and take my hard earned money where the pets I care for & I are valued as customers. Wouldn't you think so too?

On time, Rosemary was so helpful and friendly, lovely atmosphere, the vet tech was wonderful (I believe Jane is her name) and so was the vet, Dr. Kinghorne. Brought our cat in to see Dr. Jack. He was very attentive and didn't rush through the exam. He was very good with keeping our feral cat calm and gained her trust. He explained our options without treating us like a couple of "suckers". We went to an emergency vet a few days before and were told her coughing and fever was from a heart condition and that she needed evey test in the book, which was a lie. Dr. Jack ruled out any long term conditions without draining us. He did not pressure us into tests. He explained which tests would help diagnose the quickest and which tests wouldn't be efficient. He was able to diagnose pneumonia with an xray and nothing more. Stevie is now on her way to recovery and we will keep supporting this vet clinic!

Very friendly to animals but unless you are paying a veterinary exam fee getting any dialogue from the staff about your animals health is extremely difficult. I've paid thousands of dollars in the past here and still the customer service is terrible. Paid for flea and tick exam and testing. Had to ask the technician to come speak to me after the exam and tell me if she found any fleas or ticks. Not forthcoming with any information. I mentioned that my dog was shaking his ears more than normal and they said if I wanted an opinion for my minor concern I would have to pay for a vet exam. Very pushy for vet exams. Got as far as being in the exam room and the veterinarian entering while I was discussing my dogs ear shaking with the technician and realizing a vet exam is likely not necessary for such a minor concern. Technician was trying to lecture me with the analogy if I were sick I would go to the doctor and OHIP would pay for it. Correct but I would not go to the doctor for a minor itch or sneeze!!! So patronizing. Veterinarian then silently exited the room without even acknowledging me when she realized I felt I was being bamboozled for a vet exam that my dog did not need. What kind of way is that to deal with paying customers??!! Again I've spent thousands of dollars here and apparently I'm not worth the common courtesy of a hello or goodbye from the vet unless my wallet is out!

I have seen several of the vets at Bloorcourt for my Great Dane puppy and we always have an excellent experience. The Vets, Vet Techs and the receptionists are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The clinic is also really great at fitting you in when you need an appointment - on several occasions that were time sensitive/urgent, I called in the morning asking for an appointment and was in to see a vet later that day. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the wait times can be a little lengthy but for the service I receive, I feel it's worth the wait. I am very happy to bring my dog here and am confident that he is receiving the proper care and treatment from the team. Thank you!!

Doesnt the staff clean urine off the floor in the reception area? I regreted getting both my dogs spayed here. I don't know what they did to them. I see can the traumatize face on both of my dog faces when i came to pick her up. After they got spayed one my dog is terrify of any metal sound. She would run a hide and is extremely hard to go a walk with her. My other dog became agressive and would bark at strangers. Both of these dogs were happy and friendly dogs before they were spayed. I wish they would warned me if there is a chance this would happen. Do yourself a favor and find a better vet. This place tiny, smells bad and a money grab.

I have to agree with several other reviewers here - Bloorcourt seems to be charging exorbitant prices for basic services. (This is a major change from the previous owners of the clinic.) We have a completely healthy dog, and his basic shots and checkup plus heartworm/flea meds cost $395 today! After I paid - frankly, in shock - I got home and had a chance to go over the bill, then called to inquire about a $75 blood work charge that was on top of checkup, vaccines and meds. I was told that the "new owners mandate annual blood work - it's a higher standard of practice." It may indeed be a higher standard of practice, but we've owned two other dogs and have never forced to do yearly blood work - in fact, our previous vet told us it wasn't necessary. What's more, I wasn't told that it's now mandatory during the checkup, so the charge took me completely by surprise. Honestly, the vet and techs are nice, but it is NOT cool to impose new charges and not warm clients in advance. $400 is a LOT of money for basic vet services.

We have a young, healthy dog, and typically spend $200-$300 total per year for her exam, basic blood tests, vaccines and heartworm medication. For some unexplained reason, this year the vet recommended she receive a number of different/additional products and services, which cost us almost $700. This is simply ridiculous for a dog without any health concerns, who has never been sick! I feel they are taking advantage of owners' fears and lack of knowledge. We will be taking our business to a new vet next year. I am looking for recommendations in the Bloor West area :)

My first experience with this clinic's staff was fine but their prices are not as reasonable as you may think.- They did an accuplex heartworm test on my puppy to see if she had heartworm but I was informed by my current vet that the test was unnecessary until 5-7 months AFTER she turned 1 and the test could've delivered a false negative due to her age (5mo at the time) . $65. - They quoted a spay for me at $900 before tax, which is ridiculous because the average in the area is 730, tax incl. Many places I found in my area were even in the 500s. - Has to be reminded to send veterinary files to other vets, often does not send all information. Went to a new vet yesterday and said they did not receive any of the information needed.- while the vaccine fees seem appealing, add that onto a $70 appointment cost and it loses its appeal very quick.

I have trusted the Bloorcourt Vet Clinic with my pets for many years. The staff is friendly, they show true compassion and respect for the animals in their care. I have turned to the Bloorcourt Vet clinic when my cat was at the end of her life. It was a difficult time for us and Bloorcourt treated us with kindness and sympathy and they walked us through every step.
I had another cat (at another time) that required an after hours emergency clinic and Bloorcourt reached out to my family after hearing about my pet's death and they mailed us a beautiful certificate commemorating the life of my beloved pet. We were very impressed considering we did have a chance to go Bloorcourt for the procedure.
I am on my THIRD kitty (a little tabby) and I wouldn't trust any one else with her health and well - being.
It's true - they are pricey, but you get what you pay for. Believe me. It's worth it.
Thank you Bloorcourt for serving my pets for about 15 years now

I had a wonderful first appointment with my very healthy 6 year old dog, Nebo. I did my research before choosing an office as I wanted a holistic approach to animal care and I am very pleased with this practice.
Thank you to the clinic for their positivity and helpful suggestions. The staff was very welcoming and overly kind to both of us. Dr Galina offered me paperwork and reading material on vaccines instead of insisting that everything be administered immediately. I was given helpful suggestions for supplements and dietary offerings instead of medical advice for occasional/re-occuring GI issues that Nebo experiences. YAY! My fear of vets that push medication and stinky vet-pet food have been lifted. I will happily refer friends and family to this clinic and finally begin yearly/regular check ups :)

Natural Healing at its best !Our 2 year old Rottie, Becki, recently went through a five hour surgery to remove a spinal subarachnoid cyst. That cyst had given her "Wobbler-like" symptoms. We had chosen the holistic approach when she was first diagnosed as a "Wobbler dog" 15 months ago by a neurologist. Despite her condition, Becki has been a spunky, happy and surprising mobile dog until an unfortunate dog attack incident early this year. The consequences of that attack led us to an MRI and the discovery of the cyst and then surgery. It's the surgeon's comment that I really want to share here - He thought Becki was extremely " lucky" that she was able to maintain such a normal and active doggie life before all this. We know in our mind and in our hearts that regular acupuncture treatments from Dr. Galina was Becki's luck.

Dr. Galina is so kind and gentle! My 12-year-old Chinese Crested was in pain from horrible teeth problems that often come as a side effect of being hairless. Dr. Galina and the Bloorcourt team were so wonderful and took such good care of him before, during and after surgery. He had 11 teeth pulled and they have given him a new lease on life! He is such a happy dog. The cost was even lower than the estimate. So happy we have Dr. Galina as a vet!

Been going there since I've had my cat (4 yrs). I've moved away from the area but keep coming here because of the level of care they give my cat, their friendliness and the prices are very competitive.

The staff is so friendly and helpful .if I can't afford to take her in if something concerns me they are so nice and let me email them pictures the odd time with my concern . I'm surprised with the bad reviews as my experience has been the complete opposite. I took my cat here to have her teeth cleaned with possibility of extractions upon further inspection. I was quoted a price but ended up paying half that as my cat's teeth were healthier than we thought. I felt they were completely honest and up front about everything from start to finish. They are aware of cost concerns and are always willing to be clear on things that are essential and things that can wait. They followed up with phone calls and even called me back to answer some questions I had. They also treated my cat very tenderly during her check up. People who become veterinarians love animals. It's actually harder to become a vet than a regular human doctor because of all the different species they have to learn about. To say that a veterinarian doesn't love animals is a total contradiction. I highly recommend this clinic for your pet's needs. I find they really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable while they care for your precious fur babies. I'm really pleased with the quality of care my cat has received and am glad I switched vets.

The first few times I went my puppy was fine (other than an apparent bout of giardia which took over $200 to cure..) but when he was about 4.5 months old the one vet said she detected a heart murmur....
The first few times I went my puppy was fine (other than an apparent bout of giardia which took over $200 to cure..) but when he was about 4.5 months old the one vet said she detected a heart murmur. Two weeks later we took him in for his leptospirosis shot, and this is how the last appointment played out:-Vet/ vet tech came in (I don't know who she is, she never introduced herself to me and looked completely miserable the whole time)-Did not weigh or do a physical check of the dog-When asked about his heart murmur her response was "let me take him to the back and let the pro's listen"-Scolded us in disgust for us taking our puppy to a dog park to get him socialized because he is small (insinuating a big dog would attack him)-Did not know how to answer any questions we had about our dog-Stuck a thermometer in his rectum (he is a chihuahua and only weighs a few pounds. I have not seen anyone before or since do that)-Just kinda grabbed him and poked him with the needle without careNeedless to say after that I never wanted to give that over priced and inconsiderate practice another penny of my money or have my pup go through that again.It also turns out (after seeing two other different vets and practices) my dog DOES NOT have a heart murmur. I can only assume they were trying to weasle me out of more money. Not to mention I spent a month of my time fretting over something a couple of their "vets" told me that wasn't true.

I've been to various vet clinics in the past 15 years and I'm sticking with this one for now. They are fantastic and really care about the well being of my cats.I really like that when I mentioned I wasn't happy with the food I'd been feeding my cats, that they gave resources to educate myself rather than trying to sell me food. They also didn't try to sell me on unnecessary medical procedures and they followed up to see that my cat was healing.I agree with the other reviews that the front of house staff is excellent.

Their front of house staff is excellent. They are friendly and wonderful people. Samantha can warm anyone with a smile. The vet that used to be in charge of this clinic Dr. Gewarter is a wonderful man, with care and concern for your pets as his top most concern. However, they've recently had a change of vets. The new vet, whose name I do not recall, seems to have a new medication or injection to purchase every time we visit, scaring us with threats of cancer. So suspect, we spent the money on a endoscopy / biopsy with another clinic, to get a real answer, which was half the price bloorcourt had quoted to do it through their sister clinic. Result: We were being conned. Our cat is healthy, and most likely had constipation or something similar to kick off our concern in the first place.He had us feeding our cat chemo drugs, just to make a buck.

I have tried ALL of the vet clinics in the King and Queen West neighbourhoods over the last 10 years, and after hearing many glowing reviews of Bloorcourt, I decided to give them a try, despite the extra travel time to get to Bloor West. It was such a great experience, and I'm so happy to say that I've found a vet that I trust with my pet's lives.Every single staff member there is friendly and professional, and the vet we saw was thorough, personable, and clearly loves animals, which is surprisingly NOT always the case. They strive to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both the pets and the owners.The BEST part for me is how safety-conscious they are there....for the first time, I wasn't worried that my pet might escape. And they don't think that I'm crazy, or if they do, they don't show it, and that's good enough for me!!! :)A top-notch clinic in every way, Bloorcourt is the answer to every paranoid pet owner's prayers.
