Great clinic with a great staff who truly care for your pet and often go above and beyond. I've been to other vets in the area (Mutual street which are very pricey, and Blue Cross which used to be great but now terrible since the ownership change) and this is by far mine and my dog's favorite. I would have given 5 stars but there is a vet I don't care for at this clinic, Dr. Bernhard, because I feel she tries to get you to do procedures that are not needed. For example, she thought my dog's heart rate was too low and wanted me to go for an echo (ultrasound) for approx $600. My dog's heart rate has always been on the lower end of the range and no vet ever found a problem with it before or since. She also doesn't have as good of a bedside manner as the other wonderful vets and staff at that clinic. Read Less

I moved to cabbagetown in March 2017 and started with the Cabbagetown vet clinic shortly there after. Not only are they accommodating, but incredibly kind. They went above and beyond when my dog had an ear infection. At that time, I thought I would be able to have him treated and get his shots at the same time. Because he had a fever, they recommended that I wait to get his shots and only charged me a minimal amount for the visit as I would need to come back a week later to get his yearly. Today, my dog got bit at the dog park, not only did they comfort me (who was clearly more distressed than my dog), but they were incredibly gentle and kind to my pup. Thank you Cabbagetown animal clinic. Side note: I have gone to two other animal clinics based on where I've lived in the city. This is the best and most reasonably priced experience I've had. Money grabbing Vet clinic. They would make you come back again and again so they can charged and drain you for simple skin dog blemish! They wont answer your simple phone questions as they want you to return on your appt. I was really looking for a regular vet clinic nearby downtown after losing my car. My dog's regular vet is Secord Animal Hospital located at Yonge and Shepard. It's too far away now that I dont have a car but decided to return to them as I can't even compare how good they were than to this Cabbagetown Pet Clinic. Cabbagetown Pet Clinic is more concern and interested about your pocket than your pet...believe me! If you have not been to a better vet clinic you will think that they really care about your pet and the amount they charged you is reasonable. I came to Cabbagetown Pet Clinic last year because it was the nearest vet clinic. It was supposed to be quick visit to hold my dog over until I can see a better vet. I have been to many vet clinics in the city and really want the best care I can give my animals. I don't trust most vets. I was so impressed by the knowledge and care at Cabbagetown pet clinic that they became my new vet clinic. I want someone to give me an honest opinion and do what is right for my animals. And I want someone who is very good at what they do. I won't settle for less. Dr. Low is a knowledgeable, honest, and compassionate veterinarian. She really cares about her patients and raises the bar for veterinary care. I have brought two sick dogs to the clinic. Dr. Low's impressive knowledge in combination with her positive personality has given confidence in knowing they are in the best hands. This is the vet you don't have to second guess. And I'm lucky to have her as my veterinarian. My female dog doesn't like a lot of people. She came from an abusive home and takes time to trust people. Taking her into a room with someone who's going to examine her has never ended well. She instantly accepted Dr. Low. Watching how Dr. Low handled her was impressive. Dr. Low was concerned with my dog's comfort level and developed a positive relationship with the dog prior to procedure. I cannot express the relief in finding an amazing vet, and her being so good at what she does that even the dog accepts her. This is the only vet my dog has accepted. The staff at Cabbagetown Pet Clinic are held to the same standards as the vets. They are exceptional at what they do and genuine people. They are a hard to find breed in the industry who go out of their way to make sure your pet has a comforting experience in the hands of someone who is experienced and wants the best for your animal.I believe the business philosophy of Cabbagetown Pet Clinic is to provide a high quality and honest service for a fair price. They are very straightforward and ethical. This is a clinic that will focus on healing your companion animal, not sucking as much money out of you as they can. This is a clinic I trust. Through experience, I couldn't give them a higher approval. Read Less

The first time I took my dog here, I was reasonably satisfied with his treatment. At a later date, he had a ripped toe nail which needed clipping. The male vet instead of doing just that, began to tell me what he needed, tests etc. I told him I had a holistic vet, and just needed the foot seen to. My dog died in 2011.  In 2012, the clinic notified me that he was due for his yearly check-up, and I emailed them of his death. No comment from them. This year on the same date, I again received a cheerful note reminding me that it was time again for his check up. I think they do well in this area. A lot of people have pets, not much money, no car. They need a vet, so where else to go?Their prices are pretty averagefor downtown Toronto.

Try Secord Animal Hospital at Yonge and Sheppard and it will enlighten you. Read Less

They managed to squeeze me in on for a day-of checkup. The staff were really friendly and more than accommodating! They took the initiative and right away contacted our last veterinary clinic to have the files transfered over. The vet that we saw was really lovely and compassionate, and she provided some great suggestions when I asked about specific treatments. Also enjoyed the fact that neither the vet or the other staff members tried to direct us towards any products being sold in the clinic.I'm looking forward to this being the start of a long friendship with the clinic. A wonderful clinic. Having just moved to the area I didn't know where to take my pets. This being the closest clinic I took one of my cats there when he developed some health problems. The staff was helpful and kind. A special thank you to Dr. Kristina Lillakas, for being so understanding. Sadly I couldn't save my little buddy as he had terminal lung cancer, but I can't stress enough how helpful and loving the staff here were. They understood and listened to me even when I was panicked and not being overly reasonable. One of the technicians even teared up when I had to make the hard choice and say goodbye to my buddy, Jack Thank you again ladies. I won't ever forget your kindness. I have live in Toronto for only 8 years and when I was in high school back in Mexico I found a kitty that was hit by a car and in desperate need of help, I couldn't find the owners so I took him to a nearby vet in a cardboard box and not only did I wait nearly 2 hours for the doctor but he refused to help since i didn't have any money he wouldn't even put him down, the animal was in such bad condition. Two days ago I found an injured pigeon near parliament st. I took pick him up and on my way saw this clinic. I knew i would have to pay but wherever, I went in. Not only did they examine him right away (and they where busy) they didn't even ask me if I was a customer of theirs since I had my dog with me, they did not charge me a penny and they did the humane thing, the poor bird was beyond help. This practise is awful, they are mainly interested in taking as much money from your wallet as possible. They will ask you to do much more than you ever need to just to keep the money flowing in. The price the quoted me for the neuter of a mid size pup of 6 months old way ridiculous, they quoted $540 and yet the price for this service at a different Vet in Toronto is $225!!! The service is also very poor and none caring, I will never visit this establishment again, and if you don't want to pay way over the correct price for less than mediocre service I suggest you find another vet (there are plenty to choose from) Read Less

Read Less

Our 10 year old female cat was urinating outside of her box so we wanted to get her blood and urine tested to ensure she was ok. Dr. Amanda Low was very knowledgeable, warm and funny. She handled Harley's concern with such professionalism. Harley really loved her and was so calm and peaceful in her office. Harley's bladder wasn't full enough on the first visit to collect a urine sample, so the office agreed to take her the next day again until she gave one. The pricing was reasonable for what we had done and I was very pleased to find out Harley was not sick. The test results came back within 48 hours! Thanks again to this awesome team.
