We have been bringing our dog to Dundas Euclid Animal Hospital for years and they seriously are the BEST vet I have ever experienced having. I can not express enough my gratitude for how exceptionally wonderful and amazing ALL of the staff are. They treat my dog like he’s their own. Immediately I feel at ease because they really do go above and beyond to give the best care to your fur baby. When I had to bring in my dog for teeth cleaning and he was put under anaesthesia for the procedure, they knew how worried I was and they gave me an update as soon as he was done. They also went above and beyond and sent me a text with a picture of my pup and a quick update on how he was doing before I could pick him up. All the staff there are so patient and kind. They took the time to answer all my questions every time I called (which was a lot!). I can’t imagine bringing my pup anywhere else and I am forever grateful for the stellar service I receive each and every time I’m there. Read Less

This is the most accommodating vet I've ever been to with my reactive and handling fearful dog. He didn't need to be muzzled for his anal gland expression! They're on board with my gentle handling and counterconditioning techniques, and have a fear free certification themselves. They're also excellent medically, and great at explaining a range of options to choose from instead of pushing any one thing or having a paternalistic, "vet knows best" attitude (although these vets truly do know what's best, they don't present it as "my way or the highway"). They give me a lot of information on the conditions they are treating and it's easily understandable. They also warn me about when other dogs will be coming in to the waiting room and let me stay in an empty room with my reactive dog. I'd give this place six stars if I could. Read Less

Edison and his staff have been taking the best care of our family's cats for more than decade helping them and us through some hard and very happy times. Their work with charities and local feline rescues (like Annex Cat Rescue) is exemplary. Our family's current 3 plus 2 furry herd - among two households - are 4 rescues plus a walk in and range in age from 4 months to 12 years. They are always in good hands. Highly recommended. We found Dundas Euclid Animal Hospital at the recommendation of a friend when we got first cat almost a decade ago, and they've been our go-to for vet services ever since. The staff is compassionate, professional, and knowledgable, and their care for animals is so evident. We'll be forever grateful for how they handled an emergency surgery for our new kitten Layla, when they discovered a mass on her kidney. They were so supportive and communicative, and really helped us get through what was a truly terrifying experience. I'm happy to report that the surgery went brilliantly, Layla is now a very happy, thriving 6 year old cat, and we're confident that the team at Dundas Euclid saved her life. She's the only cat I've ever seen enjoy going to the vet...so I think she knows how much they looked out for her. We have been taking our pets to Dundas Euclid for years. When our 17 year old Bichon fell very ill at the end of her life, the team at Dundas Euclid treated her with such kindness and care, not to mention the moral support they offered both me and my husband after we had to put her down. They are compassionate and really care about their patients. I can't walk by the office without my remaining dog nearly ripping my arm off trying to get to the door- he loves going in and obviously has a very positive association with his visits (the abundance of treats might contribute to his enthusiasm!). We are always able to get quick care for our pets and the follow up is fantastic. I always feel comfortable when I leave in knowing that my pets have received absolutely thorough care. I've had a great experience here so far. I brought both my cats in last week and Dr. Delgado was gentle and kind to both. When I had to return today with one of them, Dr. Asotra looked after her and was as attentive and caring the previous vet. Both times I've been able to book an appointment for either the same or next day. The staff is also friendly and welcoming and seem to genuinely care about the animals that come through the door. We have only been here once, but I can say without a doubt the staff is so incredibly empathetic and compassionate. Unfortunately, our handsome cat Odie had to be put down and it was very unexpected. The staff made us feel at ease and truly made the experience the best it could have been. We just received a card in the mail from them that included his paw prints and some of his fur and it brought us to tears. It was totally unexpected, and so thoughtful. Really caring team. Great vet and groomer. Front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. I gave been with them with my cat and now my dog. When my cat passed they were very caring and compassionate. Made a very trying experience easier. My dog looks like a puppy when she gets her yearly grooming. Would not take my pets any where else. Been going there for 12 years. Despite all the bad reviews I see, I would like to take the time to write about a very good experience I had there. It's a little bit overdue (Sep 2014) but they were very nice to me and my cat. So this is not my regular vet, but back then my cat Leo was not feeling well at all, and they were the closest vet that could take him last minute. My cat was throwing up his food without even chewing it. Once I got there, the vet made a quick assessment and thought he was either constipated or had a foreign object in his stomach. to be sure he wanted to take some X-rays. When he told me it was 200$ per X-rays and saw my reaction, he said he would try his best to make everything fit into 1 X-ray only. He also took some procedures off my bill afterwards. It turned out my cat was constipated and needed an enema. He also told me he had some crystals in his bladder. I left my cat there for 2 hours and when I got back he was already much better. The vet took the time to explain what to do in the next days, the new type of food he would need and the medications he would need for the next week. I had to come back 2 days later because I thought my cat hasn't peed. They took me without an appointment and checked him out. Turned out he was OK. They did not charged me anything for that visit. Riley got his balls cut off here. It was an enjoyable experience for all of us. They took great care of him. He got to play with Dr. Barrientos' dog Dali before the big surgery. When he was done, they called me and said it went smoothly and he was in his crate feeling sorry for himself, which I said is totally what he would do. He was happy when we came to pick him up, and they even called us a cab. Riley still enjoys going there, so we know he wasn't traumatized, and he seemed to have got some pretty good drugs because he wasn't in any pain and quite happy :) Read Less

After 4 years of taking my cats to this vet, I am switching from this clinic after an experience I had today. I desperately needed someone to take a look at my cat because of potential blockage to his urinary tract. I called The Dundas Euclid Animal Hospital at 1:30 (they were open till 4:00) and I was told they could not make room for him (even after calling their sister clinics) and that I needed to take him to the emergency vet instead. This rubbed me the wrong way since they were my Cat's ACTUAL vet, and becsuse of this I felt they were unsympathetic to his condition and to my own circumstance. Instead I ended up taking him to another clinic who also told me they had no appointments, but once I explained the situation to them they took him right away -- he wasn't even a patient! Needless to say I am switching to a vet that is actually concerned with my pets well-being and not with the fact they may not close on-time if they have to help out one extra kitty (who really did need their help!)After reflecting on everything I really don't want to leave the clinic in such a negative light... During visits the vet has always been very kind and compassionate to my pets, but I do feel like they were very pushy with their dental cleaning services and regularly quoted me with cleanings and extractions In the amount of $1000+. Also, they pushed to sell me a lot of their "special" vet food which is made by Purina and I just don't trust that I'm getting the highest quality food from such a big name brand. Because of this, I feel like this vet is way more concerned with their bottom line, and that helping animals is just part of the formula in this very lucrative business. Not going back! Read Less

As a feline, I must say my human servant has good taste in vets. Although the place scares the crap out of me . . . literally, the kind staff take care of me with kit gloves. Doctor Edison Barrientos has taken care of me since I was a kitten, and has been there when I needed him.He is my regular vet and he has done all my surgeries (I forgive him for turning me into a Eunuch, I just take it out my human servant.) If I'm in medical distress, usually after making it to the carpet to vomit - thank goodness - my human gets a clue, and almost on cue, seems to easily make an urgent appointment quickly.Since I'm on a special diet, no mice, my human can walk in, unannounced, and purchase my vet-grade food without having to wait around for a special order. When I stay overnight, it's clean, and the staff try to make me feel welcome, even if I'm recovering and drowsy from the Quaaludes and anesthesia (sometimes I think they're better than my human servant, might have to fire him).I know I only have four paws, but I'm going to count my tail as a "fifth paw", and give this clinic five paws out of five as they have saved my life many times, and keep me in optimum health (and an optimum pooper too!) I really like this vet. They have answered extra questions I've had post-appointment over email and telephone, which to me is going above-and-beyond. They are expensive, but vets in Toronto are expensive. I think they are competitively priced for the market (when I lived in NY, my vet was much cheaper) Toronto is just an expensive city.I love the care they have given my dog. They always ask about extra tests, and I usually opt out. I don't feel like they push unnecessary tests, they just care about my dog. I would highly recommend this vet. They are sweet, responsive and very caring. I totally trust them with my dog.(However, the groomer here is terrible. She/he cut my dog during a groom and did not tell me. When I saw the cut after the groom and called them they offered me 25% off my next groom. They should have given me a free cut. Also the cuts they give are not cute. Do not groom here) Read Less

Absolutely the worst vet service I have ever had. The doctor was inexperienced, pushed for expensive tests our dog had already had, was unsure about what to prescribe for a very common condition, even after we showed her the medication our vet in Los Angeles had prescribed and over-charged for the medication at the end of the visit. Was actually appalled with what they consider veterinary care. The medication our dog is on is life-long yet the vet refused to provide a refill on this critical medication. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Queen West Animal Hospital a few blocks away on the other hand, is a lovely place and after one visit there we will be returning with our pooch. Read Less

I have been bring my dog here for the past seven years. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I can recall phoning them a dozen times when my dog was a mischievous puppy and ate things she wasn't supposed to eat which caused her to fall ill. They calmly explained to us what to do and even examined her for free to ease our worries. I had my dog spayed two years ago here as well. I was very anxious about the surgery and having to leave her overnight. Once again I found myself calling them three times during that day to make sure my dog was doing okay. They gladly provided updates each time!I also bring my dog to be groomed here three times a year. I originally brought her to Pet Valu to be groomed because it was way cheaper. One day I went to pick up my dog from Pet Valu after a grooming session and was informed that the groomer had nicked her badly with the shaver and she had been rushed to the vet to get stitched. I was horrified by this and vowed to never come back. Grooming my pet at Dundas Euclid Animal Hospital costs a hefty $80 a visit but I feel more comfortable bring my dog here. The groomer is super nice and extra careful. My dog's hair stays healthy and smells great for about a month and a half afterwards! I feel at ease knowing my dog is receiving quality care here. This place is very expensive. We took our cats to this hospital, are we were floored at their estimate for a dental cleaning and tooth extraction. When I asked my neighbour about it, she mentioned that she used to take her cats there and when she was unable to pay their fees, that she was told, "This is not a charity." Granted, people should be able to pay their vet fees, but when you charge almost double what other places charge, the word "charity" shouldn't really come into use with clients who cannot pay your fees.The service with your pets is just okay. Our pets have gone to other vets and have like them more (for example, not hiding in their carrier box, or not shedding hair excessively). The doctor we had (who, by the way, did not tell us his name) was wearing an excessive amount of cologne that we could smell on our pets for the rest of the day. If you live in the neighbourhood, it's definitely worth looking around or even taking the bus to a place more affordable. Read Less
