This review is 12 years overdue but after stumbling upon some of these negative reviews I was shocked that their talking about the same office . In all these years Ive been taking my cat here I’ve always been treated with respect and my animal has always been cared for in The most loving way. I never felt pressured into buying any of their products, and I feel Dr. Hannah Has been very conservative in her treatment planning and has never prescribed anything to my cat that was not needed. I never felt rushed during a appt and always left with all my questions answered and staff are amazing. Honestly Reasonable prices, very clean office and I noticed they are always updating their clinic with new technology to Better provide the best care for their patients for example they now have a separate cat only area. I have recommended them to my friends and they also have had great experiences there.
In regards to one of the reviews here saying they were quoted a big amount for dental and told a lower amount elsewhere as someone who has had their cat go through this procedure twice i appreciated being given a higher estimate so I can better prepare myself for a worst case scenario vs being given a low amount and be surprised later and both times the fees were lower than expected at the end

In all these years Ive been taking my cat here I've always been treated with respect and my animal has always been cared for in The most loving way. I brought my dog of 8 years to St.Clair Veterinary Facilities however, things turned for the worse. My dog was scheduled for his routine annual check up (rabbies, worms, etc.) and in the room, he was squirming and very uncomfortable with his interactions with the vet. I have brought him here for 8 years and he is fine with going to the vet. It was different this day.
24 hours later, he is laying around, unable to walk, doesn't have an appetite, breathing problems and heart failure. I called them for another appointment as his (my dog) world was turning upside down on him. They agreed to see him the next day. The next morning, he was laying almost lifeless and I drove him immediately to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Just as I pulled into the lot, he passed away in my car.
The VEC let me know he had a heart failure. I am in full confidence it was from an injection from the vet. I lived the last 2 years with the loss of my boy. I now bring my dogs elsewhere. I should've listened to my instincts when my boy was not acting right that day with his injections. I can never take back going to this clinic. I can never take back losing my boy.

I would not advise going to see this veterinarian. Arrogant, pushed selling something from the clinic every time I went in with my puppy (even when I declined), gave me false information about the food she was recommending (which they sell). In every appointment I was made to feel that I had no voice in the care of my pup, despite having put a lot of work into seeking out specialist information for his breed. The vet also recommended nose surgery that our new vet said was not at all necessary for my boy. I cancelled having my puppy neutered here when they didn't give me any instruction ahead of time for how to prepare him for surgery. The reception staff here are lovely, and they are probably the only reason why I returned more than once. Switched to Queen West Vets and couldn't be happier with the care there.

We used to bring our dog to this clinic. That is until they prescribed medication and gave us incorrect instructions for how to administer it. When we returned to follow-up as we were concerned for our dogs deteriorating health they blamed us for not following their instructions. It wasn't until we showed them the instructions provided by them that they relented. But, did they apologize? No. Dr. Hannah couldn't even be bothered to speak with us directly. They treated us terribly and demonstrated they care only about their bottom line. We decided to no longer use this clinic as we felt they showed no remorse, only hubris. And then today, our dog got loose from her walker. A good Samaritan found her, contacted us immediately, as they were close to the clinic we suggested they take our dog over there and ask if they could hold her for ten minutes while we made our way over to pick her up. The clinic refused because "she's no longer a patient." Talk about spiteful. For people who claim to love dogs it's very obvious this clinic is more concerned with their bottom line.

Was not at all a fan of this veterinarian. Anytime I would take my cat there I would never receive a straight answer or diagnosis from Dr Hannah. In fact, it almost sounded like she was constantly being sarcastic and beating around the bush, prescribing nonsense without really assessing the issue. This happened during each of my visits; finally I decided that despite the proximity and extended hours it was not worth it. I absolutely did not feel comfortable bringing any of my pets back there.

My dogs have been going here for 5 years. Entire staff (vets, tech, counter) all friendly, helpful, compassionate. Prices fair. Entire clinic reliable and flexible. I generally get along with people who tell-it-like-it-is, and Dr. Hannah manages to combine a no-nonsense attitude to her business with a warm and friendly attitude towards her patients and their people. Very easy to find free street parking on nearby residential roads.

I trust St. Clair Vets completely with my dear tabby. They're caring, professional and their dedication to the pets' well being is totally evident. Dr. Hannah is one of the best vets I've come across. She's fun and very experienced, and will be frank with you about your pet's condition. My tabby had tummy issues and deteriorating gums at a very young age; Dr. Hannah simply recommended a special diet, which we tried out. In less than 3 months, my tabby is as healthy as a cat his age should be, and loves his new diet too. As far as rates go, I don't believe their charges are any different from those of other vet clinics. If your pet needs extensive testing / blood work etc- the costs won't be drastically different elsewhere. What I like best about this facility is how quickly they respond to emails. And they don't insist on a visit each time you contact them (unlike some other clinics I know of!)- overall, I'm very satisfied with them and will recommend them.

Been a client of Dr Hannah for 30+ years. Not only has she been the most compassionate Doctor towards all of my animals (presently Jake and Jerzee Button, who adore her) she treats all her staff and clients with the upmost respect. I would not continue seeing her if this wasn't the case. Highly recommend anyone to her clinic. It's extremely hard for me to believe some of the bad reviews. I'm assuming there must have been some sort of misunderstanding when they went in for their visit. Anyone looking for a vet, please see Dr Hannah. I would be willing to answer any concerns to anyone seeking a new vet in the Hillcrest area.

Took our cat there who didn't have much hope. We had x-rays already done a few days earlier but Dr Miller kept trying to get us to commit to testing that was very expensive knowing that he wouldn't make it. We did have more x-rays done showing the same thing. Needless to say they seem to prey on our sensitivity and wanting us to spend over $1000 on even more testing. As she said to try and find out what has caused him to get sick. We didn't & took him home only to euthanize him the next day. Very unfortunate that they are so callus, $$$$

St Clair Veterinary is the best Vet Clinic in the city!! Dr. Heather Hannah has been looking after my pets for many years now and is not only highly skilled, but extremely helpful and compassionate!! All the staff are terrific and go above and beyond the call of duty!! They care more about the animal than trying to up sell you on unnecessary tests/services. I am truly blessed to have them care for my pet.

If you look carefully, there are mostly 1s and 5s. I'm pretty convinced that this has to do with the interaction of personalities - Dr. Hannah's and the reviewer. I found her gruff and arrogant at first, but my wife saw her as caring and fun. I came around after many years of excellent care. She does, in fact, have a wicked sense of humour and she is who she is. If you don't like to be challenged and you have no sense of humour, run in the other direction. If you like to live life with those who are living theirs with abandon, you will love it here. I've docked one star for price - it's expensive to own a dog. But you knew that already ;?)

So glad we came to this vet on recommendation of a neighbor. Dr Hannah is quirky she cares about her patient our dog and was great about giving her an exam and checking on her. The team worked with our insurance company to provide what was needed and gave an accurate estimate before proceeding. Our girl had a fractured tooth which was decaying and giving her bad breath. The nerves were exposed and it had to come out. Dr Hannah for what was needed to provide the best cafe for our girl. Our dog was so happy to see us but continued to check back on the staff proving she had great care. Thank you team for looking after our girl!

I found the cost at this location to be exorbitant-- yes, visits to the vet are mostly pricey but this was ridiculous. I took my dog in to check on a small rash she had been having and ended up leaving with a bill of nearly 500$. I also left having no answers other than "it might be an allergy". I was surprised by the fact that the vet performed a series of tests on my dog that I was not aware she was performing until it was time for me to pay the bill. When I protested the charges, saying that she should have informed me before taking a skin sample for testing etc., the vet dismissed my protests with a " we were just trying to do what was best for your dog" and walked away. I didn't appreciate the service or the way she responded to my concerns about pricing. Needless to say I have since gone back to my old vet.

Not only did she hang up on me, but she ignored my request for proof of vaccination, and when I asked to cancel my appointment she neither confirmed she had done so, nor did she ask why. I have had amazing customer service any other time I have called or visited, but this crossed the line. Whoever is answering the phones right now needs to be reprimanded.

We've have been with St.Clair vets for roughly 25 years. I went there because my aunt was with them for many many years already. I started going around the time Dr. Hannah started working there. We had a cat which we named Whiner for the obvious reason, he made his visits with her very entertaining and memorable. She has been wonderful with all my furry kids, and even when we moved out of town for a few years, we still brought our animals back in for their annual visit

Dr Hannah has been our Vet since about 1998, they saw our first dog Lexus right through her life to her final days and her euthanasia. We were really worried how things would go but not only were they professional & kind (Dr Hannah and her husband ) but they did not hurry the procedure as I've heard many Vets do. 8 months later we adopted our dog Dexter from there, HE IS A DREAM wiggling for no reason as I type. I can honestly say when it comes to services, costs are not their driving force before the care of the animal but like any Veterinary there are costs associated. IF money is a hardship ask FIRST that avoids any problems afterwards.

My kitten Ella is very rambunctious and so I was nervous to take her to see a vet for the first time, but she's mature enough to be spayed. Earlier this week I called to make an appointment with Dr. Hannah. To my surprise, the receptionist was able to schedule her in two days later. She was friendly and explained that Ella would need to come in for an examination and some more shots (Ella's previous owner took her for some boosters before I adopted her) before the surgery.As soon as I walked into the vet clinic, I could feel my pet carrier start to vibrate. Ella was purring! This put me at ease after she made blood-curdling noises throughout the entire five minute drive. Ella was hesitant to come out of the cage, but one of the vet techs helped me pull her out. Ella calmed right down almost immediately and seemed really happy when Dr. Hannah was examining and vaccinating her.Dr. Hannah is fantastic. She showed me how to brush Ella's teeth and sent me home with a FREE bag of special food that promotes dental health. There is also a complimentary kitten care pack they give out with multiple pamphlets, a blanket and a toy. I left as a satisfied, informed customer and Ella only squeaked once on the drive home - this time, out of contentment!

I took my cat to see Dr. Hannah a bunch of times and I liked dealing with her. After about a year or so of dealing with her, she recommended that my cat get some dental work done. I did the research and felt it was worth it to have it done, so we went ahead. Dr. Hannah had to take a blood sample from my cat and I could see several of her staff behind a window trying to get the sample from my squirming cat. My cat was squirming like crazy and they ended up injuring her leg in their attempt to get her blood, so much so that my cat limped for a couple of months afterwards. I decided to cancel the dental work because my cat was not in the best shape at that point and they still charged me for the blood work (i can't remember how much but it definitely was over $100!)...Another time, I brought my cat to see Dr. Hannah prior to all of this because my cat was legitimately limping. She is an older cat and Dr. Hannah told me it was because of arthritis. She prescribed some food that she sells which had to be special ordered for my cat and she was on it for a few months. It helped with her limp, but after a few months on the stuff, one day my cat refused to eat, was in obvious distress (difficulty breathing), couldn't lift her head up off the floor. I brought her immediately to the vet and Dr. Hannah said to take her off the food. This food put her kidneys into distress and as soon as she came off of it she was fine! Why didn't anyone tell me about the potential adverse effects of the food, or that maybe I might want to give her a mix of this food with her regular food?! I haven't been back since and will not be going!

Here's what happened:
Took my dog in for a dental estimate, and the doctor took some time out to take a look. Nice, I thought. No appointment necessary. Then, she proceeded to tell me that the dental work would be $1200 to $1500. I was stunned! But she went on an on about how "expensive" it is, etc.
As I was walking through the door she said, "Er, on second thought, that'll probably be $1500".
So, cool. I figured that was the price. But just to be safe, I called a couple of other vets (and brought the dog into one as well). ALL of the vets quoted me between $500 and $700.
A little disparity? You bet! These people should really be ashamed of themselves. Worst con artists ever. Avoid these guys unless you're allergic to your money.

These people are absolute crooks. I went in for a dental estimate for my dog, and they quoted me $1500. I didn't know what to say, but I figured that was the price. The vet went on and on about "how expensive" dental work for dogs is.Turns out they were completely trying to rip me off. I took my dog into another vet, and called a couple more on the phone, and ALL of them said $700 or less! I was in complete shock that they would try to steal peoples' money like this. I try not to use the word "crook" very often, but these guys are absolute thieves. They should be completely ashamed of themselves.

Dr. Hannah is one of best vets I've ever had. I've been a client of this clinic on and off for over 15 years - the "off" periods were times when I lived outside of Toronto or at the other end of town with no car, and I was happy to reconnect with them when I moved back to the West end. When I lived outside Toronto, I got recommendations from Dr. Hannah for other vets, all of whom were also very good.The staff are patient and care about both the animals and the people they serve. One of my cats needed to stay for a few days last year, and they were great when I called and visited to see how she was doing. The cost of care is also a bit more reasonable than some of the places downtown.The reasons I've given the clinic 4 stars rather than 5 are mostly about customer service rather than animal care. I had one occasion when an associate vet promised to call me back to answer a question I had about my cat who had just been discharged, and he forgot. The waiting room is small and dated, and I've had a couple of issues with paperwork sent to the insurance company missing information. On the other hand, staff stayed late when I needed to go pick up my cat after work and are sweet and kind to my pets - no one is offering me a cappuccino like at my old downtown clinic, but that's not what's most important in a vet!

This review is 12 years overdue but after stumbling upon some of these negative reviews I was shocked that their talking about the same office . In all these years Ive been taking my cat here I’ve always been treated with respect and my animal has always been cared for in The most loving way. I never felt pressured into buying any of their products, and I feel Dr. Hannah Has been very conservative in her treatment planning and has never prescribed anything to my cat that was not needed. I never felt rushed during a appt and always left with all my questions answered and staff are amazing. Honestly Reasonable prices, very clean office and I noticed they are always updating their clinic with new technology to Better provide the best care for their patients for example they now have a separate cat only area. I have recommended them to my friends and they also have had great experiences there.
In regards to one of the reviews here saying they were quoted a big amount for dental and told a lower amount elsewhere as someone who has had their cat go through this procedure twice i appreciated being given a higher estimate so I can better prepare myself for a worst case scenario vs being given a low amount and be surprised later and both times the fees were lower than expected at the end

I brought my dog of 8 years to St.Clair Veterinary Facilities however, things turned for the worse. My dog was scheduled for his routine annual check up (rabbies, worms, etc.) and in the room, he was squirming and very uncomfortable with his interactions with the vet. I have brought him here for 8 years and he is fine with going to the vet. It was different this day.
24 hours later, he is laying around, unable to walk, doesn't have an appetite, breathing problems and heart failure. I called them for another appointment as his (my dog) world was turning upside down on him. They agreed to see him the next day. The next morning, he was laying almost lifeless and I drove him immediately to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Just as I pulled into the lot, he passed away in my car.
The VEC let me know he had a heart failure. I am in full confidence it was from an injection from the vet. I lived the last 2 years with the loss of my boy. I now bring my dogs elsewhere. I should've listened to my instincts when my boy was not acting right that day with his injections. I can never take back going to this clinic. I can never take back losing my boy.

I would not advise going to see this veterinarian. Arrogant, pushed selling something from the clinic every time I went in with my puppy (even when I declined), gave me false information about the food she was recommending (which they sell). In every appointment I was made to feel that I had no voice in the care of my pup, despite having put a lot of work into seeking out specialist information for his breed. The vet also recommended nose surgery that our new vet said was not at all necessary for my boy. I cancelled having my puppy neutered here when they didn't give me any instruction ahead of time for how to prepare him for surgery. The reception staff here are lovely, and they are probably the only reason why I returned more than once. Switched to Queen West Vets and couldn't be happier with the care there.

We used to bring our dog to this clinic. That is until they prescribed medication and gave us incorrect instructions for how to administer it. When we returned to follow-up as we were concerned for our dogs deteriorating health they blamed us for not following their instructions. It wasn't until we showed them the instructions provided by them that they relented. But, did they apologize? No. Dr. Hannah couldn't even be bothered to speak with us directly. They treated us terribly and demonstrated they care only about their bottom line. We decided to no longer use this clinic as we felt they showed no remorse, only hubris. And then today, our dog got loose from her walker. A good Samaritan found her, contacted us immediately, as they were close to the clinic we suggested they take our dog over there and ask if they could hold her for ten minutes while we made our way over to pick her up. The clinic refused because "she's no longer a patient." Talk about spiteful. For people who claim to love dogs it's very obvious this clinic is more concerned with their bottom line.

Was not at all a fan of this veterinarian. Anytime I would take my cat there I would never receive a straight answer or diagnosis from Dr Hannah. In fact, it almost sounded like she was constantly being sarcastic and beating around the bush, prescribing nonsense without really assessing the issue. This happened during each of my visits; finally I decided that despite the proximity and extended hours it was not worth it. I absolutely did not feel comfortable bringing any of my pets back there.

My dogs have been going here for 5 years. Entire staff (vets, tech, counter) all friendly, helpful, compassionate. Prices fair. Entire clinic reliable and flexible. I generally get along with people who tell-it-like-it-is, and Dr. Hannah manages to combine a no-nonsense attitude to her business with a warm and friendly attitude towards her patients and their people. Very easy to find free street parking on nearby residential roads.

I trust St. Clair Vets completely with my dear tabby. They're caring, professional and their dedication to the pets' well being is totally evident. Dr. Hannah is one of the best vets I've come across. She's fun and very experienced, and will be frank with you about your pet's condition. My tabby had tummy issues and deteriorating gums at a very young age; Dr. Hannah simply recommended a special diet, which we tried out. In less than 3 months, my tabby is as healthy as a cat his age should be, and loves his new diet too. As far as rates go, I don't believe their charges are any different from those of other vet clinics. If your pet needs extensive testing / blood work etc- the costs won't be drastically different elsewhere. What I like best about this facility is how quickly they respond to emails. And they don't insist on a visit each time you contact them (unlike some other clinics I know of!)- overall, I'm very satisfied with them and will recommend them.

Been a client of Dr Hannah for 30+ years. Not only has she been the most compassionate Doctor towards all of my animals (presently Jake and Jerzee Button, who adore her) she treats all her staff and clients with the upmost respect. I would not continue seeing her if this wasn't the case. Highly recommend anyone to her clinic. It's extremely hard for me to believe some of the bad reviews. I'm assuming there must have been some sort of misunderstanding when they went in for their visit. Anyone looking for a vet, please see Dr Hannah. I would be willing to answer any concerns to anyone seeking a new vet in the Hillcrest area.

Do they not realize the front end help will make or break their business?

We had x-rays already done a few days earlier but Dr Miller kept trying to get us to commit to testing that was very expensive knowing that he wouldn't make it. We did have more x-rays done showing the same thing. Needless to say they seem to prey on our sensitivity and wanting us to spend over $1000 on even more testing. As she said to try and find out what has caused him to get sick. We didn't & took him home only to euthanize him the next day. Very unfortunate that they are so callus, $$$$

St Clair Veterinary is the best Vet Clinic in the city!! Dr. Heather Hannah has been looking after my pets for many years now and is not only highly skilled, but extremely helpful and compassionate!! All the staff are terrific and go above and beyond the call of duty!! They care more about the animal than trying to up sell you on unnecessary tests/services. I am truly blessed to have them care for my pet.

If you look carefully, there are mostly 1s and 5s. I'm pretty convinced that this has to do with the interaction of personalities - Dr. Hannah's and the reviewer. I found her gruff and arrogant at first, but my wife saw her as caring and fun. I came around after many years of excellent care. She does, in fact, have a wicked sense of humour and she is who she is. If you don't like to be challenged and you have no sense of humour, run in the other direction. If you like to live life with those who are living theirs with abandon, you will love it here. I've docked one star for price - it's expensive to own a dog. But you knew that already ;?)

So glad we came to this vet on recommendation of a neighbor. Dr Hannah is quirky she cares about her patient our dog and was great about giving her an exam and checking on her. The team worked with our insurance company to provide what was needed and gave an accurate estimate before proceeding. Our girl had a fractured tooth which was decaying and giving her bad breath. The nerves were exposed and it had to come out. Dr Hannah for what was needed to provide the best cafe for our girl. Our dog was so happy to see us but continued to check back on the staff proving she had great care. Thank you team for looking after our girl!

I found the cost at this location to be exorbitant-- yes, visits to the vet are mostly pricey but this was ridiculous. I took my dog in to check on a small rash she had been having and ended up leaving with a bill of nearly 500$. I also left having no answers other than "it might be an allergy". I was surprised by the fact that the vet performed a series of tests on my dog that I was not aware she was performing until it was time for me to pay the bill. When I protested the charges, saying that she should have informed me before taking a skin sample for testing etc., the vet dismissed my protests with a " we were just trying to do what was best for your dog" and walked away. I didn't appreciate the service or the way she responded to my concerns about pricing. Needless to say I have since gone back to my old vet.

I just called to cancel an appointment I made this morning, and the woman who handled my call was rude and inconsiderate. Not only did she hang up on me, but she ignored my request for proof of vaccination, and when I asked to cancel my appointment she neither confirmed she had done so, nor did she ask why. I have had amazing customer service any other time I have called or visited, but this crossed the line. Whoever is answering the phones right now needs to be reprimanded.

We've have been with St.Clair vets for roughly 25 years. I went there because my aunt was with them for many many years already. I started going around the time Dr. Hannah started working there. We had a cat which we named Whiner for the obvious reason, he made his visits with her very entertaining and memorable. She has been wonderful with all my furry kids, and even when we moved out of town for a few years, we still brought our animals back in for their annual visit

Dr Hannah has been our Vet since about 1998, they saw our first dog Lexus right through her life to her final days and her euthanasia. We were really worried how things would go but not only were they professional & kind (Dr Hannah and her husband ) but they did not hurry the procedure as I've heard many Vets do. 8 months later we adopted our dog Dexter from there, HE IS A DREAM wiggling for no reason as I type. I can honestly say when it comes to services, costs are not their driving force before the care of the animal but like any Veterinary there are costs associated. IF money is a hardship ask FIRST that avoids any problems afterwards.

My kitten Ella is very rambunctious and so I was nervous to take her to see a vet for the first time, but she's mature enough to be spayed. Earlier this week I called to make an appointment with Dr. Hannah. To my surprise, the receptionist was able to schedule her in two days later. She was friendly and explained that Ella would need to come in for an examination and some more shots (Ella's previous owner took her for some boosters before I adopted her) before the surgery.As soon as I walked into the vet clinic, I could feel my pet carrier start to vibrate. Ella was purring! This put me at ease after she made blood-curdling noises throughout the entire five minute drive. Ella was hesitant to come out of the cage, but one of the vet techs helped me pull her out. Ella calmed right down almost immediately and seemed really happy when Dr. Hannah was examining and vaccinating her.Dr. Hannah is fantastic. She showed me how to brush Ella's teeth and sent me home with a FREE bag of special food that promotes dental health. There is also a complimentary kitten care pack they give out with multiple pamphlets, a blanket and a toy. I left as a satisfied, informed customer and Ella only squeaked once on the drive home - this time, out of contentment!

I took my cat to see Dr. Hannah a bunch of times and I liked dealing with her. After about a year or so of dealing with her, she recommended that my cat get some dental work done. I did the research and felt it was worth it to have it done, so we went ahead. Dr. Hannah had to take a blood sample from my cat and I could see several of her staff behind a window trying to get the sample from my squirming cat. My cat was squirming like crazy and they ended up injuring her leg in their attempt to get her blood, so much so that my cat limped for a couple of months afterwards. I decided to cancel the dental work because my cat was not in the best shape at that point and they still charged me for the blood work (i can't remember how much but it definitely was over $100!)...Another time, I brought my cat to see Dr. Hannah prior to all of this because my cat was legitimately limping. She is an older cat and Dr. Hannah told me it was because of arthritis. She prescribed some food that she sells which had to be special ordered for my cat and she was on it for a few months. It helped with her limp, but after a few months on the stuff, one day my cat refused to eat, was in obvious distress (difficulty breathing), couldn't lift her head up off the floor. I brought her immediately to the vet and Dr. Hannah said to take her off the food. This food put her kidneys into distress and as soon as she came off of it she was fine! Why didn't anyone tell me about the potential adverse effects of the food, or that maybe I might want to give her a mix of this food with her regular food?! I haven't been back since and will not be going!

Love the service, and the staff are so wonderful. Very good about calling you up days later to see if everybody was still alright and fit. Fully recommend for cats and rabbits, too!

These guys are absolute crooks of the worst kind. Absolute crooks. And believe me, I don't use that kind of language often.

Here's what happened:
Took my dog in for a dental estimate, and the doctor took some time out to take a look. Nice, I thought. No appointment necessary. Then, she proceeded to tell me that the dental work would be $1200 to $1500. I was stunned! But she went on an on about how "expensive" it is, etc.
As I was walking through the door she said, "Er, on second thought, that'll probably be $1500".
So, cool. I figured that was the price. But just to be safe, I called a couple of other vets (and brought the dog into one as well). ALL of the vets quoted me between $500 and $700.
A little disparity? You bet! These people should really be ashamed of themselves. Worst con artists ever. Avoid these guys unless you're allergic to your money.

These people are absolute crooks. I went in for a dental estimate for my dog, and they quoted me $1500. I didn't know what to say, but I figured that was the price. The vet went on and on about "how expensive" dental work for dogs is.Turns out they were completely trying to rip me off. I took my dog into another vet, and called a couple more on the phone, and ALL of them said $700 or less! I was in complete shock that they would try to steal peoples' money like this. I try not to use the word "crook" very often, but these guys are absolute thieves. They should be completely ashamed of themselves.

Dr. Hannah is one of best vets I've ever had. I've been a client of this clinic on and off for over 15 years - the "off" periods were times when I lived outside of Toronto or at the other end of town with no car, and I was happy to reconnect with them when I moved back to the West end. When I lived outside Toronto, I got recommendations from Dr. Hannah for other vets, all of whom were also very good.The staff are patient and care about both the animals and the people they serve. One of my cats needed to stay for a few days last year, and they were great when I called and visited to see how she was doing. The cost of care is also a bit more reasonable than some of the places downtown.The reasons I've given the clinic 4 stars rather than 5 are mostly about customer service rather than animal care. I had one occasion when an associate vet promised to call me back to answer a question I had about my cat who had just been discharged, and he forgot. The waiting room is small and dated, and I've had a couple of issues with paperwork sent to the insurance company missing information. On the other hand, staff stayed late when I needed to go pick up my cat after work and are sweet and kind to my pets - no one is offering me a cappuccino like at my old downtown clinic, but that's not what's most important in a vet!
