My boyfriend and I picked up a puppy from the outskirts of Toronto, we are from Halifax. We were a little concerned about our new little one and not knowing anything about the city I did a simple google search for the closest clinic to our hotel. I am so glad that we went to this clinic. Prices were less than we pay in Halifax AND the vet was so nice and so beyond helpful. I can’t express my gratitude enough. Puppy is healthy and happy and I’m 100% less stressed out. My cat had an emergency surgery in late October last year, and in the recovering process, he started experiencing very intense diarrhea, which made me very concerned. At that time, I was taking my cat to another vet, who didn't even answer the phone in the time of need. Thankfully, after some research, I found Dr Kadri's hospital, and after reading so many positive reviews, decided to call and take my cat there. Right from the first time they answered the phone, I felt welcome and felt that they really cared about animals, which was a relief in that time of stress. They booked the appointment for that weekend and when I got there, they immediately took my cat and I to an examination room, which was great, because my cat stresses out easily when he is around strange people or other animals. They performed routine procedures, like weight and hydration levels. Shortly after, the doctor came in and asked about my cat, the reason of the surgery and how he was doing post-surgery, after I explained to him that he was having severe diarrhea, he immediately asked me if he was on a special diet (since the surgery was to my cat's digestive tracks). Unfortunately, he wasn't, he was having his regular food, that was of course too strong for his sensitive belly at the moment. To make sure, Dr. Kadri performed an exam on my cat, which was rather uncomfortable for him (but had to be done) and then diagnosed him with irritation due to his food being too strong. This part is kind of an anecdote, because the doctor was performing the exam, and I think I was much more stressed than my cat, which was reflected in my poor handling of the situation, since I kind of got on the way and my cat bit me so hard, that I was bleeding so much and ended up taking antibiotics for like a week. When that happened, the doctor finished the exam end proceeded to clean my wound and apply some antiseptic (Sorry Dr Kadri!). Anyways, the doctor took really good care of my cat (and me), sent us home with new food and antibiotics for my cat, explained to me how to give the pills to my cat and asked to come again one week later to see the progress. Now my cat is back to normal and, as per the doctor's instructions, we are focusing on controlling the Totoro's weight. Thank you Dr Kadri and all the staff at Richmond Hill Animal Hospital! Dr. Kadri is an excellent vet who is very knowledgable and caring. I moved my dog Winston to his clinic less than a year ago and after years of seeing several vets. Dr. Kadri noted conditions in Winston that were recurrent that no vet had explained before. He is trustworthy and reliable and does NOT take money for unnecessary procedures. He will lay out options and give you choices with his solid background and experience, and then he will stay with you every step of the way while you figure out which path to take. He will even cry alongside your family if in the end, you have to perform euthanasia on your beloved pet. Many of the reviews here are not accurate, if you checked with his long term and loyal clients, you would see how loved he is. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic, its staff and vets to you! Read Less

I don't usually review businesses online, but I was so surprised to read the negative review below that I decided to share my story which is about my positive experience when getting a similar procedure for my dog. I have a 10 year old pug named Charlotte, who developed really bad breath earlier this year. I tried everything to get rid of it, but when I went into see Dr. Kadri I discovered she needed a couple of extractions. From my line of work, I know that quality veterinary care is expensive and I was pretty worried about what the procedure might cost. Understanding my reservations about price, I was encouraged to call around and get other quotes. Even after investigating the costs at various clinics that also had high review ratings, I still saved nearly $300 overall on the lowest price elsewhere, making it well worth my drive north from downtown. Further to this, once at Richmond Hill Animal Hospital everything was clearly explained to me, as well as the possibility of any additional cost that I might incur in case of emergency (which I was glad to know about in advance of moving ahead with Charlotte's surgery). Since everything went smoothly, there were no additional fees charged. I was also incredibly nervous about the operation, since my pug is a bit older and I knew that complications could be something we'd have to deal with. Dr. Kadri was amazing at keeping me informed every step of the way, which worked to sooth some of my anxiety. He personally called me at multiple times throughout the process to keep my in the loop, which is something I have not had happen before, but really appreciated. After the surgery I noticed a dramatic change in Charlotte. She was like a wiggly, bouncing puppy again. I now suspect that her teeth may have caused her great discomfort and once they were extracted she was back to her younger self again. This made me feel like I made the right choice in going ahead with the surgery. We had a really nice check-up after the procedure, at which point I decided we would definitely be back to see Dr. Kadri for future appointments. Again, I'm super surprised to read the review below, but considering the reviewer is publicly attempting to extort this hospital in order to have it taken down, I suppose it should not to be taken very seriously. I just thought it seemed wrong to stay quiet about it since from my personal experience I can verify that it is 100% untrue. Btw - I am a real person and work for a pet magazine downtown dogs are basically my passion :-) You can google me to confirm, or tweet out to me at @DominikaGorecki if you want an objective opinion about this animal hospital or other things in the pet space. To be clear, I have not been paid or received any remuneration for this review. Hope you find it helpful in making your choice about choosing a vet. Read Less

After procedure I paid 500 for a teeth cleaning. And no extraction. You were going to pull his Tooth when nothing was wrong with it. Stay away from this vet. Will do unnecessary procedures to your animals for no reason other then extra money. Want this truthful post to be removed. Reimbursement for all the extra money you soaked me for will do. We adopted our dog Daisy last summer, and she was an older dog with a few problems and murky medical history. Dr Kadri was so patient with us as first time dog owners and helped Daisy to become her 100% best! He is a kind and caring vet, and when she needed to undergo another major surgery this past month, he was very helpful with helping us cut down costs since we were already spending so much. The ladies at the front desk are very welcoming and always greet us with a smile and a pet for Daisy, and coming to the vet is always a great experience (at least for us!). When our Boston Terrier, Mojo, broke his tooth and I suspected he would need to go under anesthetic, I was extremely anxious as his previous experience with anesthetic at a different clinic, while not horrendous, was not a pleasant one. Add to that the extra concern about a vet's ability to safely anesthetize a Boston Terrier and it just takes the anxiety to a completely different level. At the wise advice of a co-worker, I went to see Dr. Kadri and immediately felt comfortable and confident that Mojo would be good hands not only because he himself is owned by a Bostie, but from his honest, confident, and caring approach. My instincts were not wrong - Mojo has done amazing post operatively and recovered from the anesthetic without any of the issues we encountered previously and was back to his usual crazy monkey self the next day. I am very glad we changed clinics and would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kadri and his team (including the canine office diva, Frankie) at Richmond Hill Animal Hospital to anyone in need of a caring clinic for their fur-babies. Honestly I need like 10 pages to write about Dr. Kadri and his amazing caring staff. I couldn't be more happy with how my pets and I get treated! It's so nice to see, after trying many vet clinics, that this one really cares about your pets and always want the best for them. This clinic isn't about stealing money from clients and giving the pets medication. Dr.Kadri will go out of his way just to help the animals in the most natural way possible before prescribing any type of medication. This clinic is all about helping and making our babies feel better rather than just making their money and not caring for anyone. It's impossible to find such respectful, caring, polite and loving people, but in this clinic, you GET IT ALL! Shockingly my pets love going to the vet all the time and just that shows and proves that this is the BEST clinic ever! Thanks again everyone!!!Read Less

Highly recommend this clinic! Read Less

I've been taking my cat to Dr Kadri for over a year now and every visit I've come in for, I've been treated like family. Jill, the receptionist, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She's actually the reason I decided to take my cat to this clinic. On the phone, she explained all the services and made me feel extremely comfortable with bringing my fur baby to them. Once again, these guys really know what they're doing and they give solid advice. Dr Kadri is extremely sweet and only wants the best for my cat. Highly recommend! Read Less

Read Less

Can't explain his insanely high prices. Was quoted 1000$ plus tax to clean my cats teeth and pull one tooth. Went to a different vet for second opinion. Example.i paid 700 to put two cats down. Should have been closer to 350$ for both. Plus I paid 130 for antibiotics to put Taz down 30 mins later. Once again people. I recommend Dr Kadri and his staff to every pet parent I run into, even strangers, because they are so wonderful! Thank you for helping Daisy be healthy and happy!!! <3 Read Less
