The best vet clinic in Toronto, hands or paws down.I've brought two cats and a dog to this clinic over the years, never once have I been disappointed at all. The staff and vets are attentive, courteous and very nice to deal with. For those who say they're expensive and overcharge... do you expect them to work for free? They are exactly in the range of affordable veterinarian care and, often times, I've gotten extra care as part of my fees. They care about animals but they also have to make a living too.I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for affordable and excellent care for their animals. These people are as nice as you can get and they really just do a great job. I've never been disappointed with them and would take any future pets back to them as well. Read Less

Dr. Wolfson and her team are completely amazing! There are no words for how thankful we are to them. Front desk and vet techs are always accommodating, friendly, and compassionate. Long story short, we ended up having to euthanize our cat Pip - he was very sick. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else other than Dr. Wolfson for the job. She is gentle, loving, and honestly cares about her patients. She made us feel at peace with our decision to let Pip go, even though our gilt was overwhelming. Thank you Dr. Wolfson and team for all that you do and everything that you’ve done for us! Read Less

Then they assisted the delivery person who arrived after me. At this point I had still not been acknowledged or even had been made eye contact with. I went in to buy Flexadin for my dog. Having just moved to Ontario I was not certain what this would require but when i asked for it she told me I would need a script from my vet. that was it. no suggestions. No follow up questions. Under normal circumstances I would have at least been given some options or even been asked if they could call my usual vet. But nope. They offered nothing and i just turned around and left. Sadly, at the end of December 2015, we had to say good-bye to our dog, Henry. He had been a patient at Rosedale since April 2011. Henry was a difficult dog to treat because he had multiple issues - TRD, possibly due to a disease or condition of the proximal small intestine, low B12 which was treated with cobalamin shots every few weeks, food averse reactions, ear and skin infections that flared a few times a year, and ideopathic epilepsy which laterally became refractory, even though a third AED was added in November. I am so grateful that Rosedale is literally just a few minutes walk from my door. I was there a minimum of once a month, but it wasn't unusual to have 3 - 5 appointments a month, plus occasional day and overnight boarding when Henry was neurologically fragile or I needed a few hours break from the demands of a challenging dog. Dr. Davidson was his primary care vet and he's a wonderful doctor. He's easy to talk to, patient, a good listener and tells it like it is. I trust and respect his judgement and I'm thankful for the care he gave our dog. Currently, he's doing a stellar job of taking care of my mom's elderly cat. At one time or other, Henry was seen by all the veterinarians at Rosedale. I don't believe he had an appointment with Dr. Burnstein, but I'm fairly certain she cared for him when he had a seizure at the grooming clinic downstairs. Dr. Davidson was away when we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize Henry. Dr. Wolfson cared for him during the last week of his life. She was so kind and compassionate when I was fraught with upset and sadness. She spent a lot of time discussing the procedure and helped guide me (and my husband) as we made our decision. She was so gentle and loving with our beloved boy during his last minutes. Dr. Godina also spoke to me on the phone during that last week to give me advice on med adjustments, when I was concerned that Henry might cluster. I believe Dr. Sandler helped with med suggestions, too. The vet techs and kennel attendants are attentive and provide excellent care. The admin/support staff at Rosedale are friendly, efficient and organized, and do a great job job of making sure the clinic runs smoothly. All in all, a warm and welcoming clinic.Read Less

I called at 7:30 AM, because my cat swallowed a piece of dental floss at 7:15 AM. I was told by the Receptionist to bring her in at 8:30, when a vet would arrive. I expressed concern about waiting for a vet when it should be dealt with right away. When I arrived, a Technician said they needed to take xrays, even though I said I was pretty sure it would still be in her stomach. A vet arrived at 9:15 and asked had she eaten because they couldn't see anything in her stomach. The vet said that it wasn't shiny and therefore it wouldn't show up. Perhaps she should have asked before taking xrays! Everyone knew it was dental floss so I'm not sure that xrays were called for. So basically, time is ticking on, and nothing has been done except x-rays. The vet made two or three calls to other vets to advise what should be done. In the end the emergency vet down the street (with which I didn't know they had an affiliation) said I could bring her there right away for a scope, but it may not work as it may already have worked its way into her intestines. And if that didn't work, they would suggest that I watch her over the next couple of days and if she started vomiting or was in distress I should bring her in for emergency surgery. Then they took a blood test? To make sure that if she came in for emergency surgery they could do it right away. She's an 8 month old kitten under their care, so not sure that she needed a blood test at this time. All this to say, I think the receptionist should have immediately suggested that I bring her into the emergency clinic, where they could have dealt with it in a timely matter. The bill was $600. In the end, as I already had noted when I did research on the internet, it is just a wait and see strategy anyway. I think this was poorly handled overall. Read Less

This is the first review I have ever written and I am writing only because I read reviews and wish I could have read this before I went there. I adopted an 18 year old cat, Oreo, after a few weeks I noticed she was eating a lot less than normal and this continued for a few days until I began to really worry.I brought the cat to the vet, I knew it would cost 77$ for an exam, and I had never taken her to this particular Animal Hospital before but had read good reviews. I waited for a long time after my scheduled appointment (to be expected..) and was met by Dr. Davidson. He seemed so nice, so nice that I was very uncomfortable. He keept oohing and ahhing over Oreo as I explained she was having problems eating. He advised that she could have cancer or kidney problems and would need to take a blood test and urine test. He described how the tumors can swell up and make her not want to move, and horrified I was unsure of how to respond when he said it would cost 600$ for the urine and blood test. When I didn't respond, (I am a recent grad with 50$ in the bank but a credit card) he lowered his number to 400, and then to 300. He stared at me until I said Okay...(I am kicking myself in the butt for this trust me) Total came to 345$, Oreo stayed overnight to receive a urine sample.Next day I get a call, Urine sample and blood test came back fine, but the Doctor said he decided to take an X Ray anyway, (without my permission?) and found that she likely wasn't spayed, even though the original owner said she was. He said to have her spayed would "cost around 1000$", but would be a "very important procedure that could run me anywhere from...1400$-1500$"...I had stopped listening at this point and was ready to hang up when he casually mentioned that she "gobbled the wet food" and I interjected him to say "What kind of food was it!!!!??" seeing as that is what I had brought her there for in the first place!Turns out all I needed was to buy a special ID diet wet food. I can't believe that my price was bartered, lowered than raised, and my 18 year old cat was considered for an extensive surgery such as being spayed! According to the National Ontario Vet site of costs in Ontario, an adult spaying cost is 65$, not 1000$....ALL I WANTED WAS FOR HER TO EAT. I feel so dumb for paying the 345$ and not just taking a moment to think about it and try different foods. At the end of the day, it is my fault for paying and being taken advantage of. The worst part is that he is not a mean guy, the worst part is that he was acting so nice and being so manipulative that I feel so sorry for the sweet elderly ladies in this neighbourhood with poodles. Anyways, if you read all of this I hope it helped. P.S. Vet was apparently charged around this time last year for giving vaccines to a dog without the pet owners permission and the dog died 3 months later. How about that X ray?... Read Less

I DO NOT recommend Rosedale Animal Hospital. I find most veterinary hospitals to be a cash grab, but this place added tests to my bill that I never asked for and were never administered. If I hadn't scanned the bill after paying, I would never have noticed the extra $60 I was charged for a stool test for my dog that I explicitly said I did not want. They refunded my money after I pointed out the problem. Also, I called to get a quote on a rabbis vaccine. When I went in for the appointment, the price mysteriously went up and none of the receptionists could explain the discrepancy and they wouldn't honour the quote given over the phone. The vets do not examine the dogs in front of you either, they take them out of the examination room to some back room and do God knows what with your pet. My previous vet in Ottawa did everything in the exam room with me there to see what was going on. I am planning to neuter my dog soon and am deliberately looking elsewhere because I don't trust the vets or the staff at Rosedale Animal Hospital. Read Less

Very professional, thorough, friendly and patient with excellent use of information technology so that all the vets have access to a pet's records as well as research data. My experience has been that they keep searching for an answer to a problem, drawing on outside resources if required, and make every effort to be available to answer questions as they arise either by email or on the phone. They reliably follow-up when the circumstance requires it. It's a busy place for good reason, its has a very well-regarded group of vets. And I am so impressed with their team approach. They consult each other when issues arise that have no obvious root and if your primary care giver isn't available another vet steps in smoothly. A lot of expertise resides in that clinic and it seems that the few newer vets have been very carefully chosen and are very well supported by their more senior colleagues. When I go to my doctor I don't complain about being kept waiting. I know it means that someone with a problem is being given the time needed to address it and not that the doctor has overbooked. That's what I would want if I went to her with a pressing problem. I have an exceptional doctor. My dog has exceptional vets. Read Less

Read Less

Dr. Davidson has called us multiple times personally to give advice or suggestions over the phone when needed which is super helpful. When i arrived one of the receptionists and a vet were speaking in full voice about the negative disposition of one of their clients. This left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. Zero stars is not an option. Awful experience. Read Less

Read Less
