I'm disappointed with the care my cats received at this clinic. Our last cat died after a routine spaying. She was sent home with us after the follow-up visit and passed away a few hours later. I did not feel supported by the staff here during this time and I'm still grieving her loss without a condolence card from them but many, many beautifully printed appointment reminder cards. There are many vets and vet aids working at this clinic with varying abilities. I regret not taking her to a place with one trusted vet. I wanted the best for her and thought paying a higher bill in a nice clinic would be the best, it was not. Do your research and I hope you find a good vet and spend many happy years with your pet.

Every member of their staff makes you feel welcomed. They are thoughtful and well informed. They truly care for your pets and have amazing resources you can access.

Disappointed in customer service. After giving many referrals and spending over a thousand dollars in a year for just basic check ups and yearly needles they want to charge 85$ to check my dogs heart and give me a cream at additional cost for something we told them we knew what it was. We didn't ask for a free check up but they just saw my puppy every month for the last four months. 85$ for three minutes. Doctors and lawyers don't even charge that much. Super disappointed

Worst Vet experience I've ever had! I went in first to get information, the lady at the counter explained that at their clinic they only charge one cost for the full vaccine program. So I brought my kitten in, we were handled by a new vet who didn't know where anything was, she spent most of the visit explaining how shes new and doesn't know how any of their systems work. Not very reassuring...whatever, he gets his first vaccine. We pay THEN are told that it isn't all included, that the next 2 visits are also $130! I told her I was told otherwise and that paying $400 for vaccines is crazy! She just said "that's the cost of owning a cat" and she went back to talking with other staff and customers while I held my restless kitten waiting to pay, not being able to speak with her and being completely ignored. I came home and did a bit of research and found pretty much all the other clinics charge $40 for vaccines... I regret taking my poor kitten here. Now it's been 4 days and my kitten has a huge swollen belly. I don't trust what they did to him at all and I will never set foot in there again. I pray that another clinic will be able to help my now sick cat.

I don't know if I could ever say enough about how incredible Westside is. I've been coming here for nine years, and in that time, there have been changes, and all of them for the better. All the doctors and staff are loving, caring, trustworthy and I know they care about my pets like they were their own. I see them go above and beyond each and every visit. Even when they have had to tell me things I don't want to hear (the illness of my pet) they do it with sensitivity and with my pet's specific needs in mind.
There's no where else. There just isn't.

Our regular vet is in Beaverton, On. "The Crossroads", to be exact. By far the best vet clinic on the planet if you're up in the Kawartha Lakes / Durham area.
But the West Side Animal Hospital is a very close second. The big difference for me is pretty much attached to a dollar. Obviously being in Toronto this clinic will have significantly higher operating costs so perhaps it's not fair to compare the two.
As far as vets go they are top notch. If and when we're in town and in need of attention, this is the only place our furry pals will visit.

Had to give them one star since there's no option for zero stars. My dog could have died because of the incompetence of the so called Dr.Sonia. Just hope no other family or poor animal has to go through what we went through this week. Took my dog to another vet who diagnosed her within the first 5 minutes of her examination. Dr.Sonia had my dog there all day took our money and sent us home with absolutely nothing except medication that my dog did not need. So is she incompetent or just out to prey on families who would do anything for their pets.

I am convinced that whichever animal hospital Nikola G was reviewing, it is definitely not the Westside Animal Hospital at 2700 Dufferin. Firstly, Nikola G refers to a review of some Rossana and there is no such reviewer for this hospital here. Secondly, and most importantly, I take my two cats here for several years already and each and every time - the vet discusses the symptoms, possible causes and choices of treatment with me in detail. Dr. Sonia is generous with her time with the animal and with the owner and always provides all possible treatment choices for the owner to make an informed decision for their pet. If tests were ordered, she would call herself to interpret the test results for the owner, even it it means that on very busy days she has to stay after hospital hours. And this attitude and care was demonstrated to both my kitties, for various instances (one of my kitties is elderly and another is really young) - running eyes, ear infections, spaying, teeth pain, joint pain, vomiting, food allergies, anxiety, etc. Her rates are also very reasonable (and if you did your research and got a good insurance even better) and are generally lower than at the other hospitals. She does not do unnecessary tests that would duplicate other ones and would not look for another reason to sell some kind of medication or procedures (I have experienced that in several other North York animal hospitals). I don't have any neutral or negative feedback both for the vets at this hospital or for the staff - always helpful, kind, caring and patient. My only wish is that more cat owners discover this hospital, so they can have a cat only days for the kitties who are not comfortable with the other animals...

The staff is amazing at westside. The prices may be a bit high, but i feel secure and safe when I need them to take care of my puppy. I never feel rushed in the appointments and my dog is never upset to go back, which is a big deal to me. They also gave me a referral to one of the best trainers in the city. My puppy became very aggressive and because of their recommendation, I have a very obedient little girl. Thank you!

I have been taking my cats here from what seems like the dawn of time (since they were located along Eglinton w). Always great service and caring individuals both veterinarians, techs and front desk. Price wise the thing I've come to realize is animals are not covered under ohip; so of course its going to be pricey depending on the situation your pets in. I just really wish they did exotics! I own a ferret, hint hint.

The only reason i am writing this is because i read what Rossana wrote. I do not know what she is talking about. I took my Bengal cat to this clinic who had a runny bloody stool and a runny eye i did not receive any help. The vet she literally took a poop sample and gave my cat eye drops. She didn't even offer an idea of potential causes for either i mean at all, she came in and went out. I was informed that the stool sample results would come in in 3 days. I waited for a week before i called back for the results myself (my cat was fine) they said that they were busy and that's why they didn't call, i mean that's what i paid you for, right? The cat could have died if it was something very bad. Funny enough after i called and found out the result they called me 5 days later to give me the results again, not organized at all. So in conclusion:Stool analyses $45 + TaxEye Drops $25 + TaxMax 7 Min of vet services $70 + TaxTotal amount paid roughly $160 for absolutely nothing.After realizing that i paid for absolutely nothing i took matters into my own hands. After trying a plethora of foods, probiotics even pumpkin it turns out that my cat had a sensitive stomach. In conclusion Science diet (sensitive stomach) cat food and problem solved. Had they suggested that it could be the possibility of food being to rich i wouldn't have needed to spend 6 months going through all of this.As for the eye watering turns out it's herpes another thing i had to research, i found out that L-lysene suppresses the symptoms. Again i could have avoided torturing my cat with the eye drops morning and night for a month.This is an honest overview of my experience and my intent is not to bash this clinic at all. I live 3 blocks north of this clinic but i would never take my pet there again. On the other hand it was beyond rewarding to figure it out on my own :)Good luck

I came to Westside Animal Hospital after a horrible experience at a different vet office, and they are beyond everything I expected.
Every member of their staff makes you feel welcomed. They are thoughtful and well informed. They truly care for your pets and have amazing resources you can access.
Dr. Kammy is a gem and I couldn't be happier we found this place!

Disappointed in customer service. After giving many referrals and spending over a thousand dollars in a year for just basic check ups and yearly needles they want to charge 85$ to check my dogs heart and give me a cream at additional cost for something we told them we knew what it was. We didn't ask for a free check up but they just saw my puppy every month for the last four months. 85$ for three minutes. Doctors and lawyers don't even charge that much. Super disappointed

Worst Vet experience I've ever had! I went in first to get information, the lady at the counter explained that at their clinic they only charge one cost for the full vaccine program. So I brought my kitten in, we were handled by a new vet who didn't know where anything was, she spent most of the visit explaining how shes new and doesn't know how any of their systems work. Not very reassuring...whatever, he gets his first vaccine. We pay THEN are told that it isn't all included, that the next 2 visits are also $130! I told her I was told otherwise and that paying $400 for vaccines is crazy! She just said "that's the cost of owning a cat" and she went back to talking with other staff and customers while I held my restless kitten waiting to pay, not being able to speak with her and being completely ignored. I came home and did a bit of research and found pretty much all the other clinics charge $40 for vaccines... I regret taking my poor kitten here. Now it's been 4 days and my kitten has a huge swollen belly. I don't trust what they did to him at all and I will never set foot in there again. I pray that another clinic will be able to help my now sick cat.

I don't know if I could ever say enough about how incredible Westside is. I've been coming here for nine years, and in that time, there have been changes, and all of them for the better. All the doctors and staff are loving, caring, trustworthy and I know they care about my pets like they were their own. I see them go above and beyond each and every visit. Even when they have had to tell me things I don't want to hear (the illness of my pet) they do it with sensitivity and with my pet's specific needs in mind.
There's no where else. There just isn't.

Our regular vet is in Beaverton, On. "The Crossroads", to be exact. By far the best vet clinic on the planet if you're up in the Kawartha Lakes / Durham area.
But the West Side Animal Hospital is a very close second. The big difference for me is pretty much attached to a dollar. Obviously being in Toronto this clinic will have significantly higher operating costs so perhaps it's not fair to compare the two.
As far as vets go they are top notch. If and when we're in town and in need of attention, this is the only place our furry pals will visit.

Had to give them one star since there's no option for zero stars. My dog could have died because of the incompetence of the so called Dr.Sonia. Just hope no other family or poor animal has to go through what we went through this week. Took my dog to another vet who diagnosed her within the first 5 minutes of her examination. Dr.Sonia had my dog there all day took our money and sent us home with absolutely nothing except medication that my dog did not need. So is she incompetent or just out to prey on families who would do anything for their pets.

I am convinced that whichever animal hospital Nikola G was reviewing, it is definitely not the Westside Animal Hospital at 2700 Dufferin. Firstly, Nikola G refers to a review of some Rossana and there is no such reviewer for this hospital here. Secondly, and most importantly, I take my two cats here for several years already and each and every time - the vet discusses the symptoms, possible causes and choices of treatment with me in detail. Dr. Sonia is generous with her time with the animal and with the owner and always provides all possible treatment choices for the owner to make an informed decision for their pet. If tests were ordered, she would call herself to interpret the test results for the owner, even it it means that on very busy days she has to stay after hospital hours. And this attitude and care was demonstrated to both my kitties, for various instances (one of my kitties is elderly and another is really young) - running eyes, ear infections, spaying, teeth pain, joint pain, vomiting, food allergies, anxiety, etc. Her rates are also very reasonable (and if you did your research and got a good insurance even better) and are generally lower than at the other hospitals. She does not do unnecessary tests that would duplicate other ones and would not look for another reason to sell some kind of medication or procedures (I have experienced that in several other North York animal hospitals). I don't have any neutral or negative feedback both for the vets at this hospital or for the staff - always helpful, kind, caring and patient. My only wish is that more cat owners discover this hospital, so they can have a cat only days for the kitties who are not comfortable with the other animals...

I never feel rushed in the appointments and my dog is never upset to go back, which is a big deal to me. They also gave me a referral to one of the best trainers in the city. My puppy became very aggressive and because of their recommendation, I have a very obedient little girl. Thank you!

I have been taking my cats here from what seems like the dawn of time (since they were located along Eglinton w). Always great service and caring individuals both veterinarians, techs and front desk. Price wise the thing I've come to realize is animals are not covered under ohip; so of course its going to be pricey depending on the situation your pets in. I just really wish they did exotics! I own a ferret, hint hint.

The only reason i am writing this is because i read what Rossana wrote. I do not know what she is talking about. I took my Bengal cat to this clinic who had a runny bloody stool and a runny eye i did not receive any help. The vet she literally took a poop sample and gave my cat eye drops. She didn't even offer an idea of potential causes for either i mean at all, she came in and went out. I was informed that the stool sample results would come in in 3 days. I waited for a week before i called back for the results myself (my cat was fine) they said that they were busy and that's why they didn't call, i mean that's what i paid you for, right? The cat could have died if it was something very bad. Funny enough after i called and found out the result they called me 5 days later to give me the results again, not organized at all. So in conclusion:Stool analyses $45 + TaxEye Drops $25 + TaxMax 7 Min of vet services $70 + TaxTotal amount paid roughly $160 for absolutely nothing.After realizing that i paid for absolutely nothing i took matters into my own hands. After trying a plethora of foods, probiotics even pumpkin it turns out that my cat had a sensitive stomach. In conclusion Science diet (sensitive stomach) cat food and problem solved. Had they suggested that it could be the possibility of food being to rich i wouldn't have needed to spend 6 months going through all of this.As for the eye watering turns out it's herpes another thing i had to research, i found out that L-lysene suppresses the symptoms. Again i could have avoided torturing my cat with the eye drops morning and night for a month.This is an honest overview of my experience and my intent is not to bash this clinic at all. I live 3 blocks north of this clinic but i would never take my pet there again. On the other hand it was beyond rewarding to figure it out on my own :)Good luck
