From the time my husband and I brought our 2 Labs into Hillcrest I knew this was the place to me. Bubba and his sister Blossom warmed right up to the staff and Dr. Mike. Sadly Blossom had to be put down last year and it was a complete shock to us and Dr. Mike. I took her news badly as my dogs are part of my family. The whole staff come to me and showed their love and concern. I lost my husband this January as he lost his battle with cancer only after 5 months. The staff showed again their love and concern for me and when Bubba wasn't feeling well they catered to him. Dr. Mike come out to the waiting room and came over to us and picked up Bubba a 100 pound dog and carried him into one of the rooms. Last week we were there again for Bubba's check up and the licks come out for Dr. Mike and the wags and licks for the staff. They are great and spend as long as needed to help your animal and you out. I would never recommend any other vet. Dr. Mike Bubba still loves you even if you said he can't have Dairy Queen ice cream.Thank you all for the way you treat and care for animals you are very dedicated. Read Less

I just had a traumatic experience when my rescue Rottweiler attacked my other Rottweiler. I had Daisy for over 3 years and this was second attack. The vet stayed late to help me through this situation as I decided putting her down was my only option. I have a 17 month plus granddaughter to think about. I was met with understanding and compassion and as I stood there with blood on my clothes and hands from the attack and tears streaming down my face I was given the hugs I needed. Dr. Mike and the staff here at Hillcrest are AMAZING!! Unlike other veterinary clinics and hospitals that are out just for the money, the team here genuinely love what they do, and the animals they care for. My parents have been taking their two labs here for years. Last year the one had to be put down because of tumors that went undetected even after multiple tests. The team there helped my parents through the process, and even chipped in to get an ornament made of her paw print for my mother. This year my father passed, and the team has been just as caring for my mother to not only check on her lab, but also how she is doing. When I get my first full pay from work, I'll be taking my 2 rascals in to see Dr. Mike. I know in his hands and the care of his team, they will live long happy healthy lives, and be treated like they are part of the family. If you're new to the area and are looking for a vet, switching vets, or got a fur baby yourself who needs someone to help, you can stop your search now, because this place is the best in the area. Didn't even make it into the place. The lady on the phone called our bunny an 'it' And said that they don't need to be fixed because they aren't like a cat or dog. Then when questioned by what was meant by that, because my understanding is that vets have love for all animals, we got the reply "if you lost your bunny or your dog which one would you be more sad about?" Just from a phone call I'm very disappointed. Maybe they're great with the more 'important' * eye roll* animals, idk. All I know is that that one employee we talked to had little to no compassion for my rabbit. This is not me bashing them as vets, I personally don't know, they could be amazing. If you need vaccines this office is capable of doing that but if your pet is not well I would highly recommend going somewhere else.I brought my dog here because she was experiencing extreme pain and the vet did what they thought was an examination which consisted of checking her legs and spine with her fingers..well what a joke that was because last time I had a vet charge $100 for an exam he did a full exam of eyes,ears temp and a thorough examination of every structure.She ordered blood work because they thought it might have been infection.She asked that we go home and wait few hours until the blood was checked and just as I was leaving my dog had an episode of pain so the vet took my dog in the back and did another test called glucoma test for her eyes and charged me another $100.They called me 4 hrs later to tell me everything was normal and that I should see a different vet because she read in her book that it could be a tumour???Are you kidding me...they charged me $400 for her to read in a book of what it might be...hmmm I think she was as smart as the book she read from...they are incompetent and have no clue what to do when your dog is sick.
