Started taking Jack there almost 2 years ago but after our experience this week we will never go back. Phoned in response to an email about Heartworm testing asked if Jack needed vaccinations they told me no just heartworm so I booked an appointment. Get there and they weigh him and take him in the back then a woman at the desk says I'll cash you out now. I said we need to wait to see what food the vet recommends - she tells me if you want to speak to the vet you need to make an appointment and pay for that. I responded that I had already made an appointment and no one told me we wouldn't be seeing a Dr. I said I need to speak to a vet - whatever vet that was there that day refused to see us and we were told the other the vet would call me the next day to discuss my concerns - NOTHING NO CALL - VERY DISAPPOINTED! Response to your comments - at no time was it explained to me that the appointment I made was not with the vet and the fact that the Dr. that was there refused to even speak to me made if pretty clear to me that no one was interested in the issues we were having with Jack. I did not return the call because I want a Dr that cares and we have moved on! Read Less

Took my kitten for his first shots, and it was immediately clear how great the staff was. They went above and beyond to make my kittens visit as comfortable as possible. From having a "cat only" waiting area, to distracting him with whipped cream while they gave him his shots, it amazed me how dedicated they were to not only making sure he was healthy, but that he also felt as comfortable and as calm as possible. My relationship with Watzin goes back several decades, and covers a couple of dogs; and prior to that two cats. Their service has always been superb. The professionalism of all the staff is consistently top notch. ALL of the staff is professional and understanding. I don't very often develop the loyalty with a services provider that has transpired with them. It wouldn't occur to me to go anyplace else for either veterinary services, pet food or any other pet supplies; even though I have relocated further from the area. I will still continue to go back. I have been going to Watzin's since 1999. Dr. Watzin truly saved the life of my then three year old cat Jake. After that for me there will never be another vet. Three years ago when Jake had to be put down she came to my home so that he could pass over in my arms in familiar surroundings without having to endure that dreaded car ride. That meant more to me than anything. I have never had children my pets are my children and Sandra has never judged me when I come in with any of my fur babies as I am usually quite anxious and tearful. As a member of the kennel staff, I have seen how hard the veterinary technicians work to ensure a stress free visit for all patients. Whether with snuggles, treats, or even cheese whiz, the techs always put in the extra effort to ensure your pet has a fear-free experience when at the clinic. Christy, the in-clinic groomer, is exceptional at giving your cat or dog the look that you want. The pets that she grooms are always excited to see her and their owners are always thrilled with the results. The veterinarians on staff have been excellent at diagnosing and treating my dogs' various medical conditions, which include everything from ear infections to seizures. Finally, working with Dr. Watzin is what made me want to be a veterinarian. Without her, I would never have gotten into the Ontario Veterinary College this past year. Ive been a client of Watzins for many, many years. In fact, Ive been lucky enough to adopt three kittens from the clinic over the years. One I almost lost this summer when she got trapped somewhere outside. She was missing for 32 days. When she finally came home she was in rough shape, she lost 30% of her body weight and needed some TLC. She got just what she needed at Watzins, they stayed past closing time to make sure she was well enough to go home to recover. This isnt the only time theyve went beyond the call of duty for me. My dog has come here for most of his life and the excellent care provided by Watzin's is the reason his diabetes is so well managed. The doctors have all at various points in his life helped him through issues with his diabetes, vision and inappetance. When we were debating putting him down because of glaucoma several years ago, Dr Watzin pushed us to consider enucleation and educated us on the process. She's the reason he's still around and happy as can be despite his blindness. I also had the pleasure of working here as a kennel staff for six years and have seen firsthand what goes into the quality of care at this facility. These women work hard and it is truly a labour of love. Our family loves Watzin Veterinary Clinic - the veterinarians and the rest of the clinic staff. We have been clients since April 2001, with 1 dog and 5 cats. From saving our young labrador retriever after he ate 1 1/2 pounds of semi-sweet chocolate chips to providing compassionate end of life care for our 2 senior cats, they have been fantastic. Watzin helped us manage our dog's diabetes and twice daily insulin injections for several years, as well as less life altering issues that arose with our cats (teeth that needed cleaning, an injured leg). Just one big sales presentation. I went in just for my dog's annual vaccines but the owner/vet tried to get me to switch over to their crazy expensive "science diet" even though I am feeding him a perfectly good all-natural dog food. Then she said I needed to do yearly bloodwork (for another $300) even though he is perfectly healthy. It seemed like a lot of expensive stuff when my dog is perfectly healthy. To top it all off, the owner has her crazy rottwieler running loose in the clinic who kept jumping up on my 8 year old son and trying nip at him.Not happy with such a sales oriented vet who lacks professionalism and compassion for my pet and family.
