This is best clinic in town. The staff love animals and it shows. Our cat was dying and they checked him out to see if anything could be done to save him. I brought my guinea pig in for an absess on his neck. I understood his condition was grim.  But still had to try to do something for the little guy. He was over 6 years old.  Unfortunately i found out that it is very difficult to find a Vet that will even treat small animals. As they will often die with any  problem.  The first couple visits the absess was drained. But i felt they needed to do more for him and have more consistancy with the care given between the Vets.  He was my pet that i rescued from a frat house.I gave him the best care. He and his friend Flower shared a 6x6 pen . In the summer on nice days i would take them outside to spend the day in their 8x8 pen . He was a happy piggy. He would fluff himself up for me everytime i would go in there room , about 4 times a day. So they got alot of attention and care. So yes, i am afraid i grew to love the little guys. So being upset that my freind was at his end, Dr Sommers worked with me to plan a course for care. She took the time to research what could be done. She then took almost an hour to explain to me thoroughly what she  discovered. She did a thorough exam. To discover that with his condition he woud never  survive. A huge absess, heart murmor, constipation , emeciated and old. So he was humanely euthenised.  But he had a good last 4 years. Then Dr Somers , with her dedicated drive to advance the field of Veternary care, asked if she could keep him for research.  So my little Oliver may help another little animal suffering from an absess. I cannot say enough about the genuine compassion the staff here showed me and my very special companion Jacob who became sick over a year ago. We worked together to keep him with the best quality of life; no matter when I called time was always given for Jacob about questions and when I said I need to bring him in the answer was yes. Sadly yesterday Jacob had his final visit and again the compassion shown to us at this terrible sad time was overwhelming and appreciated. The choice to say good bye too one of my dearest companions was not easy; without the care from Buck's Animal Hospital Jacob would not of survived those extra months I will cherish. Went to Buck years before and after they moved locations. I had a cat that had respiratory issues and was advised by buck to keep her on a long term steroid pill and injection to keep her reactions at bay. Fast forward two years and the cats immune system begins failing. Soon after her skin began thinning and the suggestion from Buck? Continue the steroids. My cat ended up with a lot more than a respiratory issue, her skin was paper thin and would no longer heal due to the amount of steroid in her system, she would bleed like a stuck pig if anything cut her already failing skin. All side affects of long term steroid use. We received this suggestion for the issue from multiple long term vets that work at Buck. Aside from the horrible way that my cat died, Buck also charges an outrageous amount of money per appointment for how much of a lack of knowledge they actually have. Some of the vets they employ are cold people and the fact that you are not appointed one specific veterinarian that handles your case, if you happen to have a complex one, is a joke. Instead, you are passed around and you have to explain your whole file time and time again to whatever random vet or tech that happens to get you and dish out a $90 examination fee minimum for sub par care and service. We've been taking our cat and dog to Buck for 3 years and love them. They're always happy to answer questions even if it's just a phone call to calm nerves and don't make us schedule appointments unnecessarily. I believe that they milk the mistakes they make, I took my one kitten for ear mites. They didn't see any. Later come back with both my cats with mites yet I have to pay for their mistakes. Never going back in, they have a messed up business model. Don't go please! Read Less

Please don't come in!! Took my cat with mites, left with an infection drop. Now both my cats got it and they milk it because sure enough I came back to fix the problem but they washed their hands and said "sorry, we missed it nothing we can do" and charged me for double consultation.Horrible place! Every visit has been a great experience. A few years back one of our cats was hit by a car. It was 5 minutes until closing but they still agreed to see him. Several staff members had to stay over an hour past closing. They could have easily sent us to emergency care at a another location, costing a fair bit more. But they didn't. They were waiting with open arms when we arrived. They gave him something for the pain and checked him out to make sure he would be alright until morning when they could do x-rays etc. This is why my family and I have been going there for over 20 years.
