In December my 2months old kitten had gone to another vet for surgery, the stitches opened up. We rushed him to ambassador and they saved his life. They were able to take this poor kitten whose stomach was open because the last vet didn’t properly stitch him up and put him back together and save his life. They were so kind not only too Boots but to us who were terrified and never seen anything so scary. Now all my animals comes here because they are the best. Dr. Sekhon was great! He was compassionate and knowledgable. Our dog felt comfortable in his presence given the circumstance. Our experience was ruined when a front staff member was rough to our dog and frankly rude to us. She picked up my dog inhumanely and without asking for a blood test. At the end of 2016, 3 days before Christmas that year, I was forced to put my 10 year old dog to sleep. I was a complete mess. They Not only did everything they could to make him as comfortable as possible.....They showed us a great deal of compassion, and did whatever they could to make that process as easy as it possibly could...considering the reason we were there. I was able to order 2 copies of his paw print....But approximately a week or so after, I received a card in t…he mail. Not only did the entire staff, including the Vet himself, sign the card each with their own condolence message......but the card they picked had a photo on the front..that looked just like my Scrappy. As devastated as I was during that time....The staff at Ambassador made the whole thing as bareable as possible. The staff here are truly amazing people. After months of our sick puppy going through treatment after treatment, and going to bluepearl in the states to find out my 8 month old puppy needed a kidney removed and they wanted to charge $6000 US i was so upset, when we came back to canada there was nobody known to do those kind of surgeries in windsor/essex county except the doctor here at ambassador animal hospital. Although we were only clients for the last few days of Benny's life this animal hospital trued there abs…olute best and even scheduled the surgery to remove the kidney for a very reasonable price. The night before his surgery was supposed to happen he ended up going into kidney failure at walker road animal hospital he was put down due to being braindead in a coma but ambassador still sent out a sorry card which helped so much! My poor cat had been having some major bloody urination issues, was losing weight fast, and just seemed generally in pain and miserable. Had taken him to a vet in Toronto, who was no help and decided to "monitor the situation" after giving me antibiotics, and telling me they wouldn't help... The vet here noticed the tender abdomen, suggested an xray (just one- he didn't want to charge me any more than he had to, very reasonable!) and found my cat had bladder stones. Everything seemed to have gone smooth until we neutered our dog with no proven medical issues and 3 days after he died. Vet failed to advise and educate us on possible side effects. He did mention to give medicine with food. We did follow exact instructions and gave medicine with food and later found out the medicine may cause kidney failure which he failed to advise us. We even called on the second day with concerns about his condition. Our husky was only 1 year and half or so. He was taken at such a young tender age. When I called into confirm what happened or what was previously discussed with my mother, he quickly explained and kept emphasizing the medication had to be taken with food (which it was). No sympathy or even a sorry, sounded like he just wanted to get off the phone. He mentioned he possibly had testicular cancer (POSSIBLY, not proven) which still would've not caused him to die 3 days after a neuter surgery, and "a likely congenital kidney disease", which was NOT confirmed, even if he was, why did he not advise us about the risk of the medication with possible complications with a possible kidney issue? We bought this dog for our mother after losing our dad and now we've lost the dog that brought joy into our day. I have another dog that I was considering to neuter here but now I will take him else where. 4 of my friends who are regular clients there will be doing the same. For many years we took our pets to another veterinarian in the area. While we felt the medical care was acceptable, we felt that our pets were not treated as individuals, and were on an assembly line. From conversations we had with other pet owners, they had a reputation for being more expensive than most. Then Ambassador opened near to our home. Our pets were due for some vaccines. I called the office we had been going to in order to obtain the price, then called Ambassador to compare. Ambassador's price was lower. We decided to change to Ambassador because of the price difference and that they were closer to our home. This was the best decision that we have ever made for our pets. On our first visit we knew we found what we were looking for. They were interested in our pets' health history, but also in their behaviour, exercise, food and our home environment. The price quoted was the exact price we were charged - no hidden costs (an issue with our previous vet office). The vet techs are FANATIC at Ambassador. Theresa has spent a LOT of time (both over the phone and in person) helping us overcome some behavioural issues with a dog we adopted last spring. Lauren is always beaming like a ray of sunshine.
