If you're thinking of switching vets or are doing your research in to what vet to take your animal to, I think this review can help you a bit. We have a wonderful dog, Roxi (5), and a mischievous kitten, George (1). We have visited a few vet offices over the years. We were originally clients of another vet clinic in Charlottetown, and although the vets were wonderful and knowledgeable, they had a lot of clients and it began to feel a bit rushed when we had exams or it was har...d to get appointments. We actually had to schedule an emergency appointment elsewhere when Roxi was about 3 because there was just no availability. The reason I bring this up is because we made the switch to Abegweit shortly after, mostly due to the above issues and location was more convenient. BEST. DECISION. EVER! We had only ever been seen once for vaccinations and a yearly exam for my dog and 8 months later, I found a stone she had passed. Roxi showed ZERO signs or symptoms that anything was wrong until about 24 hours before this stone was passed. I called Abegweit to let them know that my dog had this issue and I was quite concerned. Lisa told me that she could be seen right away even though there wasn't any availability that day. I spent 3 hours at the clinic that day with Roxi as she had tests done and we found out she had 2-3 large stones and hundreds of tiny ones. I was completely devastated. If you aren't aware, stones in large breeds are not common at all and thus started our lengthy journey of getting Rox healthy. Dr. MacDonald is amazing in every sense of the word. She sent off our stones for analysis, she researched personalized treatment plans geared towards Roxi's issues with other veterinarians at Royal Canin along with consultation from other educational institutions. A specially formulated diet was recommended with the help of Royal Canin and we started it shortly after our first appointment. It has been over 4 months now and Dr. MacDonald is still giving me updates and reviewing her file frequently. I really can't speak more highly of the work Dr. MacDonald does. She truly is meant to be in this profession. Everyone in the reception, the vet techs, the other vets I've dealt with, are all fabulous. PEI has great vets and you have plenty of great clinics to pick from, but as someone that has experienced other clinics, this one is clear first choice. After multiple surgeries this year, our Beautiful Luna passed away a week ago. Exceptional is the only word I can find to describe the care Luna received this year and the compassion expressed to our family not only in our final moments but throughout. Dr. Profit's kindness and genuine sympathy for our loss of our Luna was heartfelt and for her and the wonderful staff we will be forever grateful.

The folks at this clinic were wonderful today when I called them exhausted this morning asking for my dog to be seen. They booked me in as a first-time client, even though they didn't have open appointments, and were very accommodating when I arrived with my large older dog with behavioural issues. Dr. Condon took his time and really listened to what I was saying, and all of the staff were just incredibly kind. Thank you so much for taking a little bit of the stress out of this week.

My experience has been beyond expectation! Having 4 animals things happen, sometimes it's just a simple issue, sometimes many things at once occur creating a whirlwind of activity. Each and every time they have been not just professional but caring and understanding. Shout out to Dr. MacDonald for her thoroughness and critical care of our Golden, to Dr. Condone for his expertise and fantastic sense of humour, to Lisa Purcell for her attention to detail and consistent cheery disposition, a welcoming site each and every time. I have not had the pleasure yet to interact with the rest of the team to the same degree, but have no doubt that based on the these three I would experience the same level of engagement or more. Keep doing the great work you are so clearly passionate about!!

Amazing care and several follow ups including the use of emails!!! Dr. Condon replies to his emails, even during his very busy work schedule! Dr. Condon pays attention to the care of his furry patients and certainly gives me the reassurance that I have finally found the perfect Vet clinic that will provide the level of care to any of my 6 rescued dogs! It has been quite a journey to finally find this level of quality in a Vet Clinic here on Prince Edward Island. Two of my "kidney diseased" dogs had to have dental surgery and Dr. Condon recognized in one of the dogs that a unique dental situation needed to be addressed. The result- my dog's spirit was remarkably improved! A previous Vet clinic who did surgery did not notice this issue. Also, the other kidney diseased dog received amazing care and gentleness for her dental surgery. I generally have to come with my own soft bedding but this clinic had amazing comfort already in place on both the kennel area and on the operational table!!! I am still pinching myself at the amazing quality provided by this team! To add further to this quality clinic, Dr. Condon has a rebate system set up on the App they have! How amazing this that!!! My Vet bills are significant and the gratitude I feel as a client from this rebate arrangement is a wonderful feeling. I have not felt this 'act of appreciation towards clients" in any of the 3 other Island Vet clinics I have been at. This is quite an "advanced" well thought out positive smart business plan that is proving to be extremely effective aka rating on this Clinic is 4.9/5. In an emergency situation, the clinic arranged to have important dog medications delivered to my country home due to my vehicle issue. Wow! Pinch me! I am more than proud to give this Clinic an outstanding review. Top notch care, affordable/competitive prices and an added feature in the sincere willingness to find products if the product is not one they regularly have in stock. The folks at this clinic were wonderful today when I called them exhausted this morning asking for my dog to be seen. They booked me in as a first-time client, even though they didn't have open appointments, and were very accommodating when I arrived with my large older dog with behavioural issues. My experience has been beyond expectation! Having 4 animals things happen, sometimes it's just a simple issue, sometimes many things at once occur creating a whirlwind of activity. Each and every time they have been not just professional but caring and understanding.
