Our Hospital
The Charlottetown Veterinary Clinic was established in 1952 by Dr. Hammond Kelly. It was located on what is now University Avenue.
Early in the nineteen sixties, the business was moved to its current location on Kirkwood Drive. The building itself has undergone various renovations over the years to accommodate the ever-changing veterinary industry.
We are very pleased to have serviced Prince Edward Island’s veterinary needs for more than fifty years and look forward to continuing to do so for many more.
At present, there are seven full time veterinarians and one part time veterinarian. All of our vets attend continuing education during the year to keep abreast of new developments and procedures within the veterinary field.
Over the span of four decades, the Charlottetown Vet Clinic has been privy to have the following clinicians provide their services (past and present): Dr. Hammond Kelly, Dr. A.B. Kelly, Dr. Robert Webster, Dr. Wayne Cameron, Dr. Wendell Grass, Dr. Robert Johnson, Dr. Geoff Davidson, Dr. Glenn Johnson, Dr. Bob Morrison, Dr. Bill Best, Dr. Mike Mc Gowan, Dr. John Drake, Dr. James Dykman, Dr. James Kelly, Dr. James Boswall, Dr. Kim Foote, Dr. Colleen Dickie, Dr. Jody Mokler, Dr. Jen MacLean and Dr. Amber Jameson.

What a great staff and fantastic doctors. We have always taken our own two cats here, but when the apt building adopted stray was injured from a fight everyone at the clinic was so kind and helpful. Dr. Mokler explained the situation simply and answered everything we asked in such a kind and understanding way, putting us at ease in a stressful moment. We have always been impressed with them, but today we were beyond impressed.

I was visiting from Massachusetts. I called, and they had no trouble fitting my dog in. When I got there, they were absolutely wonderful, and because nothing was really wrong with him, they didn't even charge me. They do this for the love of animals. I am truly grateful for them taking him in so quickly, and they were wonderful caretakers.

If you were ever looking for a vet for your furry family I couldn't recommend Charlottetown Vet Clinic more. They were so kind to me & my cat Bebe. They went to every length to make a tough experience as comfortable as possible, including sending me a hand written sympathy card in the mail after Bebe passed away. Every staff member there was nothing but kind, compassionate, knowledgeable & understanding. I'll never go anywhere else! Thank you so much Dr. Kelly!

This vet treated me like a real person and not like an abusive owner when my dog was injured beyond my control. Coming from another office where my file on my dog (when I got the papers to transfer) I was listed as possibly neglectful because a vet used the wrong sutures in my dog I asked them not to use because her mom was allergic. And she had a reaction to them. This office listens to me. Helps me get to the bottom of things and has their cremation location listed. No more dodgy "we sent your dogs remains to New Brunswick".
