No star!! Everytime I pass this vet clinic I feel angered sad and disgusted. My whole family is traumatized from this experience. We brought our family pet there because she was not well. We were giving a bunch of pills to buy just by examining her stomach. She was on the pills for two weeks and did not make her better. we were told that she needed to be operated we accepted, brought her in while operating on our pet they called and said that they found a tumor and asked what did we want to do... of course we told them to remove it. I was astounded that they hadn’t done an X-ray before proceeding to operate on our pet. Anyway we were supposed to pick her up that evening after work . we were ready to go get her and we were told to wait and they would call us for when to come to the clinic. Arrived at the clinic with my whole family, they wouldn’t let us see our pet until I had paid for the operation and the pills for the recovery process. I did that and got to see our pet. She was still on the operating table with only her neck moving she was paralyzed from neck down. The vet reassured us that this was temporary and “that she did a great job” she was boasting has how well she had done the surgery. We thought it was weird how she was acting but whatever we were happy to know our pet was going to be alright. From what we were seeing was the opposite. She looked awful and was trying so hard to breathe and was shivering uncontrollably. The vet‘s assistant put a warm blanket on her and that didn’t help. Nothing worked they had her on a respiratory system no better the vet finally got on the Internet to lookup why she wasn’t getting better from the operation. She told us that earlier after the operation the dog had been walking around and everything seemed fine. It’s just in afternoon that she started exhibiting these problems. Obviously a lie, the dog looked as if she had never been of the operating table. It was getting late and they wanted us to leave with the dog in that condition. I said no we would not leave until our pet’s health was stable. They told us that we would have to find another clinic because the were closing. In all this commotion our pet died in front of us while they were trying to get us to leave. She was not strong enough for the surgery they should have told us that. This Vet is Super in every way. It was the worst vet visit I'll hopefully ever have to make and the staff was kind, compassionate, patient, and helpful. We ran into the building in a panic, without an appointment because our little dog was dying in our arms. She was bleeding from the mouth and in horrible distress. They took us in right away, tried to stabilize her and when we had to decide to euthanize her they were supportive, kind, and compassionate. We saw Dr. Cliche and she was wonderful and knowledgeable. MJ was terrific too. I will NEVER use any other vet clinic. They are worth every penny you will spend. You and your pets are patients at this clinic not just a number. This is by far the best veterinary clinic we've ever brought our pets to. Dr. Cliche is incredible. She's patient, caring, knowledgeable, and has gone well above and beyond to help our pet (who is quite a special dog - anxiety, skin problems, ear issues, you name it). This vet has been the best! My baby, Trigger, was with them from the day I got him 9yrs ago until last Friday, when he passed. Dr Lachance was caring for him these last few years and she's amazing. Such a compassionate person who would do anything to make you and your fur baby feel better.. thank you Dr Lachance for making Trigger's end as peaceful as it was :) I'd also like to thank all of the receptionist who over the years have gotten to know us very well.. they are always so kind and helpful. FORGET Ottawa vets!! Go to the Aylmer vet clinic, it's way way better than any vet I have tried on Ottawa. It's a family run business, the staff is incredibly helpful, Dr. Varney and his care about your animals. You aren't just a means to a new Porsche! They are fairly priced and certainly NOT overpriced. They have so much to offer as far as nutritional options and advice. I cannot recommend them enough! Read Less

I called to get my dog in for a emergncy case cause he couldnt walk anymore i told the front desk i was very worried he was going to pass away the guy at the desk told me he can only get me in the next evening at 5pm he said my dog would not pass away and he could wait till tomorrow i brought my dog to a different vet the same day of his injury and now he is peralized and has no movement of his back legs and they told me if i hadent of brought my dog in he would of died if he didnt get that medication to the vet clinic thanks for nothing and i will never bring one of my animals there again Read Less

We have been taking our dog here for 7 years.They have great vets that are caring and knowledgeable. Staff is kind and patient. He's had two TPLO surgeries here and his legs are bionic!! They really CARE about your pets. Read Less

So disappointed in the care my dog got. We went in for what was supposed to be a small surgery, they call mid surgery telling me that she has cancerous tumours and it'll cost an extra $400 dollars if they were to continue with the surgery, how did they not see that the NUMEROUS times i brought her in before? They then tell me surgery went well, but when i go to pick her up the secretary was extremely inconsiderate and rude, we had to pay before even getting to see our dog, we walk in and shes full of tubes and having a seizure?? All the while the doctor is on the phone asking another vet what to do and telling us she can't stay there overnight.... they told us she was FINE! My poor dog ended up dying in their care and i am beyong hurt and disappointed in how everything happend. I will never go there again. Because of them my dog is dead. Read Less

They are a horrible place ! None of the doctors knew what was wrong with my dog. They put her on multiple medications only to have her undergo a surgery they knew she was not strong enough for. They performed the surgery without even knowing what was going on inside her, there was no z-ray done. Mind you I brought her in several times for them to figure out what was the issue. They lied to me about her health and didn't even call me when she went into shock after the surgery I had to walk in on my poor dog dying and they didn't even tell me !!!! I was devastated and heartbroken I've never seen such an insensitive place. My poor dog was in shock and having seizure after seizure and they knew nothing. They revived her 2 times and continued to let me know that she can't stay the night there and needs to be brought to an overnight facility depending on HOW MUCH I WANTED TO PAY. I AM DISGUSTED WITH THE WAY THEY HANDLED THIS SITUATION there were only two vet technicians who were sympathetic. The surgeon and everyone else were heartless and I'm extremely disgusted by the lack of knowledge these people had. My poor dog my best friend is dead now because of them, when this all could have been avoided if they knew what they were doing. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR LOVING ANIMAL. Read Less
