We have 2 cats and 2 large dogs, the cats would not be alive today if it weren't for the wonderful staff here. On 2 separate occasions, one 3 years ago, one this month, each cat had a medical emergency that prompted me to rush them to the U of S, in each case tests at the U of S lead the staff there to believe they were okay and they were sent home. With the symptoms still of concern I took them to Martensville where Dr. Stewart and the amazing staff provided me with further options not presented to me at U of S leading to a diagnosis and emergency surgery (in one case) and emergent treatment not requiring surgery in the other saving both of them. Aside from our medical scares, Dr. Lange and Dr. Oranchuk are wonderful and keep both my senior pups in great shape, the staff as a whole are kind, courteous, well informed and take pride in their jobs - a great clinic for the care of your fur kids. I am always 100% satisfied with the excellent care that my pets get here. Today was no exception. From the moment I arrived, I felt like my pet's health mattered to everyone there. Dr. Stewart was exceptional and thorough. I left there with a positive feeling about what needed to be done for my cat at home so her condition would improve. I brought one of my 2 dogs for his annual exam - he is deaf and partially blind since birth. The staff are so wonderful with him! They did a thorough exam and took the extra time needed to make sure he was comfortable with what was going on. I have been taking my pets to Martensville Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years, even when there were vet clinics that were much closer to my home. Their service in all aspects is outstanding. They are always friendly, informative, knowledgeable, efficient, and provide a high level of expertise and skill when treating animals. Dr Stewart is the absolute best vet. She gets on the dogs level, takes the time to really get to know you and your dogs and has incredibly sound advise, unending knowledge with medical needs and even breed characteristic. We brought our cat Archie here on Friday for an emergency. We knew Archie was in bad shape and brought him in as soon as we could. They told us what it would cost for diagnostics and treatment and unfortunately it was out of our budget. They accommodated us anyway and tried treatment on Archie that was within what we could afford. It turned out Archie had a bladder infection and chronic crystals in his urinary tract. While they were attempting treatment, Archie was under the anesthesia when he had a heart attack and didnt make it. After Dr. Stewart told us, she cried with us and then brought in Archie for us to say good-bye. He was wrapped up respectfully in a blanket and she was oh so gentle with his little body. For our peace of mind they had done some x-rays and it was noticed that Archie was probably sick for quite some time before due to the size and scarring of his bladder. At the end of the visit we only left with paying for a shared cremation ceremony for his remains- which is done by an organization that will spread your pets ashes by the river. We left feeling sad and crying of course, but we discussed the whole way home how kind and understanding this whole Vet's office is. We could tell that Dr. Stewart has a very big heart for people and animals- and you don't wake up in the morning expecting to lose someone on your operating table. She was very professional and kind during our entire visit and we felt like they had done everything they could. Archie was just too sick. But he had a good life and thanks to Martensville Veterinary Hospital, he had a peaceful pain free walk over the rainbow bridge where he is no longer in any pain. Best clinic! Dr Stewart & Dr Orancuk are amazing and all the staff. We have been taking our boston since he was a pup for puppy class, he is always excited to go no matter what the circumstance. Dr. Stewart has been without a doubt, the very best vet, supporter and advisor to us. Unfortunately, not all vet appointments are preventative where you get to leave with them just as you arrived but in having pets, I know, this is life. Yesterday, I left without my best furry feline friend of 15 years and my heart is broken but I got through it without conscience and with support by Dr. Stewart and her team. Time is the best healer but in the immediate grief, you were once again, amazing, I can't thank you enough and although Chester was exceptionally selective in his affection, I like to think he was glad that you were there with me and for me. I have been driving out to Martensville from Saskatoon for the past 5 years for Dr. Stewart to treat my dog, and I believe it is well worth the drive. It's obvious that she cares a lot for her patients. After a procedure, my dog had some side effects I was not expecting. When I called the vet to inquire, they told me what to keep an eye on and called an additional 2 more times after our first phone call to make sure my dog was well. Seven years ago we brought our dog in for an emergency C-section. These fine folks not only worked with us to make the operation more affordable, but also clocked out at regular closing time, and stayed into the evening on their own free time to make sure my Daisy girl was okay. Every veterinarian and vet tech that we have had contact with at MVH has been phenomenal - exceeding any hope or expectation that we had regarding care for our four-legged family member. It is apparent that each individual working there sincerely cares about animals and obviously love their jobs. MVH very good to us when we had to have our dog put to sleep. So kind and informative on the phone prior. When we came in they gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye before and after. As well as a full explanation to what we will expect as he goes to sleep. Today I received a sympathy card in the mail signed by each staff member, a memory book that we can put together and a poem. they also called our house to see how our family is doing and invited us to call if we have any further questions. Very impressed by their thoughtfulness. Thank you MVH for helping us through a very difficult time!! Also to add the cost was really reasonable. We take all 4 of our animals to go see Dr. Stewart & we are very happy with her service. The girls at the front are very helpful, and don't hesitate to answer questions/concerns via phone or email if they can. It is hard to find a vet who is understanding of those who feed their dogs raw diet & she is willing to work with us, no problem. We have found other vets strictly advise against raw feeding, even though we know our dogs health, coat & teeth have been great ever since. They do not force their branded vet food down your throat - which is super cool. Our only complaint is that to receive a multi animal discount - you need to have 3 dogs. As we only have 2, we are not entitled to that - which is slightly disappointing because we give them a fair amount of business with our 4 fur balls.
