Last week I called the Northgate Animal Hospital to book a spay appointment for my 1 year old dog. I spoke with Dr. Bath to book and he indicated he would email consent forms to me due to the Covid-19 virus. On Monday 2020-04-13, I had still not received the consent forms for the surgery so I called again. Dr. Bath then indicated that he would have them ready in the morning and we were instructed to call the office upon arrival and a worker would come out get the dog and get the forms signed. My husband dropped our dog about 20 minutes early as we are from out of town and the trip took a shorter amount of time than anticipated. A receptionist attended the vehicle with mask and took our dog in a rushed manner. She did not speak clear English and told my husband she would call to get information regarding our dog. My husband left and called me to inform the clinic would be calling me right away to get the information. I did not receive a call so I called the clinic and stated that I was concerned that they took our dog with no information to confirm what she was there for. The receptionist indicated in a condescending tone that due to covid 19 things are difficult right now. I indicated I understood, however, they should be more organized in taking appointments and expressed concern again , indicating I wanted to confirm that they know what they are doing with my dog. She placed me on approximately 3 holds as it was clear she had no idea. She then indicated that my husband confirmed that Luna was there for anal glands and then left. My husband knew what he was dropping our family pet off for, however this woman would not talk to him at drop off. Becoming more alarmed, I told her that she was suppose to be there for a spay. She placed me on another hold and Dr. Bath then came to the phone. He indicated that she was dropped off early and they completed an anal gland suppression on my dog. I was upset and told them not to touch her and that my husband would return for her. He indicated he wouldn’t charge for the suppression, and I explained that they should know what they are suppose to be doing to a dog and they performed an unauthorized procedure on my pet. He then proceeded to blame us for dropping her off early as she was scheduled for 11am. My husband went back to the clinic and went to the door to get our dog. They screamed at him to back away from the door. My husband expressed that this was the most unprofessional thing he has witnessed and would not be going anywhere without our dog. They began screaming covid-19 at him, with my children watching this unfold from our vehicle. There was some serious communication breakdown with English likely being their second language. They finally gave him our dog. This experience was horrifying. The shocking lack of organization, consent paperwork and communication was ridiculous. We are very thankful that they only did anal glands on her and not some other possibly detrimental procedure meant for some other dog. Read Less

We take our puppies there for their shots and find that Dr. Bath and Mrs Bath are both kind, caring professionals. We have been going there for about 2 years and will continue to do so as they have always shown our pets the utmost in kindness and professional courtesy. Please check them out before you make your choice of veterinarian. They are reasonably priced and seem to love all animals. Don't make your choice on other people's prejudiced opinions. Read Less

Following my first visit I was highly impressed. However, after my second visit I was highly unimpressed. Pricing for my visits were inconsistent. I brought my 9 month old cat, Zelda here to get her spay done. There have been many complications with the surgery but the people at north gate have been nothing but amazing about it. they have been so helpful, doing anything to help me with her at home grecovery. We have two cats 3 years old and 5 months. We got to know Dr. Bath when the older cat got sick a few months ago. He opened up for us on a Sunday and took care of our pet and brought him back to health. This was not our normal clinic. The clinic we normally would go to was a larger we'll know clinic. I was so impressed with Dr. Bath we switched over to his clinic. He did the neuter and chip on our kitten and the level of care was amazing. FYI our older cat hated the previous vet. She would bite, scratch, and growl. Not with Dr. Bath. He has a great way with her. She lays down calmly and patiently. He talks to her and pets her, she absolutely loves him. What a difference. 10/10 in my books I would recommend Dr. Bath to everyone. He truly cares about your pet and is a pet person.Read Less

went in for a check up and ended up buying three types of antibiotics and a neck cone for my puppy............ He kept offering me to buy things and getting things checked up for my dog even though my dog didn't need them. He just kept saying my dog might have severe disease and may need to be hospitalized... then offering me to have my dog blood tested, get x-ray checked and etc.. All he did to find out all these was just FLASHING THE PENLIGHT INTO MY DOG'S EYES .... Read Less

Unfortunately, this place is not sanitary at all! As a former employee myself, I know first hand. This doctor is over priced and has many add-ons on top of each service! This doctor will ALWAYS talk pricing with you and He has no respect for animals once they are in his care. He has no respect to each girl he hires for reception. As my reception job there, I was assisting him with surgeries my FIRST day of work. He had told me that I would be in charge of the anesthesia while he did the procedures. On the first day, this is what I was doing then he continued to walk to the front entrance to greet a client leaving me in the surgery room by myself. Heart rates of this poor animal then started dropping and I was unaware of what to do. I have had no experience or schooling yet for any of this. I do NOT understand how this man received any certification. He is HIGHLY unsanitary. Procedure tools were rinsed with water after each use if there was noticeable blood. He would do spay an neuter procedures without wearing any gloves. Did not care about cross contamination whatsoever. I could go on for days about this "doctor". I highly recommend that if you love your pet, then do not bring here. Very unorganized and unsanitary clinic! This is an awful place for your animal. I had a dog that was sick and left her here for observation and examination. Needless to say, they didn't observe her fully and tole me I need to pay for bloodwork and xrays without telling me any logical reasoning. HORRIBLE PLACE. Dr. Bath is an extremely caring and professional doctor. When we took our dog after getting a splinter stuck in her throat, he was very thorough and checked for all possible causes ( we didn't know it was a splinter when we took her in). Casey recovered fully in a few days and always loves to go and see Dr. Bath! His goal is to keep everyone's' pets as healthy as possible and he gives great advice when your pet is in for a check up! Took my cat here last September for a emergency tooth pull and cleaning. It was late but Dr Bath was very friendly and compassionate. My cat stayed the night and I picked him up the next day. Price is comparable to other clinics (still expensive) 800 for a cleaning and tooth pull. Now my cat has another bad tooth that needs to be pulled. Since Dr. Bath did a great job last time and he has several 5 star reviews I'm taking my cat back here today. I'm not looking forward to the bill but atleast I know he's in good caring hands.
