We had a very negative experience taking in our 9 week old kitten for her first checkup and vaccination. Not only did the veterinarian scold me in a rude, unprofessional way about my kitten’s feeding habits (her original owner had her on a raw food diet, and in order to make a smooth transition to my home, I decided to keep her on it for the next little while). I had even brought in the raw food package to give the veterinarian a look at the ingredients and certifications the brand has as well as the additional supplements that we are adding but did not get the opportunity to show her as she was very rude and wanted to rush through the appointment. I was hoping for the opportunity to discuss the possible concerns with raw food and what we could be potentially missing with a professional but unfortunetly, the appointment was cut short as she, during the scolding, was pulling out viles of vaccines and had the needle out ready to inject my little girl without even telling me what the vaccines were! As a paying customer, I would have appreciated the explanation of the vaccines, what they were for, and what the potential side effects/symptoms are before they were administered. I felt extremely uncomfortable there and ended up leaving before any of the vaccines were given. Luckily, I was not charged for the appointment. To be fair, I was in the exam room for less than 5 minutes. Which goes to show how quickly she was trying to vaccinate her and get us out.
I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. I just got back from another veterinarian in the city and she was fantastic, explained everything thoroughly, gave me a lot of very good information about a raw food diet, and understood that in the end it was still my animal and discression, but wanted to make me aware of the potential risks.
Just because they are animals, does not mean they should be treated any less. Our animals deserve just as good of care as we do. Read Less
